Easy to use design. No ads. Great definitions and examples for words. Much better than any standard dictionary today. Some words are missing, but remember that this was written in 1913. It was a simpler time and people didn’t know about things like “soccer” or “proton”. But they did know “nincompoop” so that’s something.
Wald76,
High quality presentation of Noah Webster’s classic!
This is a digital version of the classic 1913 Webster’s dictionary. The typography and layout is well done.
There’s a good discussion of Webster’s in Hacker News (search there for “You’re probably using the wrong dictionary”). This app’s author worked on it for years as a labor of love.
Sulam,
Simple, yet stylish
Good use of fonts and without a lot of distracting chrome, this is a great dictionary for anyone wanting to find synonyms on the fly.
nelsonthecat,
Breathes life into words
Beautiful presentation of Noah Webster’s original work
