WEIGHFISH TD APP
The Weighfish TD app is a fishing tournament manager for Tournament Director’s use. The Weighfish TD app allows directors to easily record and track everything you need to right at the weigh-in. No more writing by hand or using complicated payout spreadsheets is necessary. You can host your own fishing tournaments or manage your fishing club’s tournaments. This app works alongside the website where the Tournament results will be immediately visible to anyone that wants to see.
Weighfish tracks Tournaments created as a part of a Tournament Series. A Tournament Director first creates a Series, then adds upcoming tournaments to that Series. On Tournament day, simply enter the anglers as they sign up. At the weigh-in, enter their number of fish, fish alive, big fish, and total net weight. Weighfish will automatically calculate their place in the tournament. If the Tournament Director chooses, Weighfish can also determine the Tournament payouts so that doesn’t all have to be figured out by hand after the Tournament is completed. Old tournaments can also be added in the app for history.
The Weighfish App can be used where there is cell service and where there is not. Tournament results entered while the App does not have access to cellular data or Wi-Fi will be uploaded after the App is opened when cell service is better.
Here is a quick rundown of how a Fishing Tournament Director would expect to use the App.
1. Download the App
2. Create an account
3. Log into the App
4. Create a Tournament Series
5. Create a Tournament in that Series
6. Enable Auto-Payouts (and any other features you want) for the Tournament
7. On Tournament morning, as fishermen come to register and pay their entry fee, enter their names in the Tournament (without any weights at this point).
8. After everyone has registered, view the final payouts on the Tournament Stats page of that tournament. Use that information to divide the entry fee money into the prizes to be paid out.
9. During the Tournament weigh-in, as Anglers weigh their fish, enter their results in the App.
10. After weigh-in has concluded, click Auto-Score Results to calculate the winners. Present money/checks/prizes based on the results.
11. All the results are immediately shown on the corresponding Tournament page
SUBSCRIPTION DETAILS
- This app offers monthly or yearly subscriptions
- Payment will be charged to your Apple ID Account at confirmation of purchase
- Subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current period
- Subscriptions may be managed by the user and auto-renewal may be turned off by going to the user's Account Settings after purchase
- Your account will be charged for renewal within 24-hours prior to the end of the current period
- You can cancel your subscription at any time, but please note that you will not get a refund for any remaining period of a subscription
- Series and Tournaments created when a subscription is active are not affected or removed due to expired subscriptions

Im surprised there isn’t any actual reviews on this app. I guess I’ll be the first.
So, I downloaded the app a few weeks ago because a different app I was using to run tournaments changed and quit working correctly. I needed a new app for a tournament I was running today. I had a few weeks to “play” with the app to get familiar with it before tournament day. The only thing I didn’t have a chance to do, until today, was to use it at a live weigh in.
WeighFish is designed for the typical fishing tournament and it does exactly what it’s designed to do. It’s easy to use and quick to update results. The tie breaker works as well as I was hoping it would. The sorting works great and is accurate. I didn’t use the payout calculator because I’m used to doing it on paper. I’ll play around with that option more later.
The tournament participants (or anyone for that matter) are able to watch the weigh in as it’s happening from the WeighFish website. They don’t need the app to see it. The only criticism we heard from anglers was the website didn’t automatically reload for them. It wasn’t a big deal because they could manually reload the page themselves. Perhaps the developers can consider doing auto reloading of the webpage after each new entry.
I love the ability to create the tournament and post the rules/details along with our contact information on the tournament’s web page. It’s an easy way to point people to all the details they need at one spot and get to the live weigh in from the same place. They can even email or call us from there. One thing I would like to see is have the ability for anglers to pre-register for the tournament. I personally don’t want them paying in advance, but getting signed up before tournament day would be awesome!
I actually had the opportunity to have a nice email conversation with the developer. He is very quick to respond to questions and open to suggestions. That is a MAJOR plus in my opinion.
Overall Im VERY HAPPY with this app and how it performed. It’s better than what I was using before. It truly is free to use without annoying ads. Fellow tournament Directors, try this app! You won’t be disappointed unless you’re running some complicated formats.
