What Word Hack 1.9 + Redeem Codes

Edit - I just noticed that you cannot go to the next row and select a square to put in a letter that you now know is correct. I want to be able to put the correct letters in their proper spots to see if a word jumps out at me. Other such games do allow this. Here you can only start at the very first square to enter a letter. Perhaps the developer could add this functionality in an update. -
I had previously installed this app and was happily using it. However something occurred that caused me to delete it, maybe the app froze and the only thing that could be done was to delete it. But when I went to re-install it I found that it was no longer available. So I had to make do with another similar app. However that one has many annoying quirks. Using the “common words” option frequently results in obscure and even non-sensical words. Its handling of duplicates is also confusing. So I was very happy to see this app available again and have found it better organized and displayed. The ads I saw didn’t obscure the keyboard as I read in some other reviews but I paid the minor fee to eliminate the ads. I’m happy to support developers like this one. If you’re looking for a wordle type of app you can’t do better than this. I highly recommend it and am very grateful to the developer for the improvement and continued support of the app.

So far I've come across Jesus, Jesse, James, Peggy and Peter. It's kind of annoying when names are the answer, because names are not acceptable in Scrabble, so I never think of them as possibilities. I did get Jesus correct, simply because there was no other option. But James has too many possibilities when the correct guess is "_A_ES”. If “James” wasn’t an option, I would’ve won that game.

Other than that, I do find this app to be one of the better games in the App Store. KUDOS for not requiring a subscription! I will be sending all my family and friends your way, so expect to see more downloads! 👊😁👍

Seriously, I do love this app! It's like an alphabet version of "Passcode" or "comp IV", one of the first handheld computer games to hit the market.

But please remove the names. If you use "Peggy" and "James", you'd have to include less common names like Vicky, Shena, Avena, Chico, etc. You get my point. Not only are you leaving some people out, but it can mess up players' strategy. We take a chance by guessing a name when it seems a name would fit, but then we'd get a message saying "We do not know this word". So it should be an "all or nothing" catagory, and names are too arbitrary. Just my $0.02. 🙂

(Previous review) I uploaded the update yesterday. It is now too big for my screen. (iPhone 7, small - don’t judge!) Only the top row of letters is visible. If you move everything up, tapping on the letters doesn’t work. I tried putting in the word “quote” using just the top line of letters, but couldn’t get Enter to work. I paid to remove the ads at the bottom but that didn’t help. I liked this game more than Wordle because you can play it multiple times a day. But now I can’t play it at all!

This version of this game is straightforward and basically enjoyable. However, there are two problems with the word list: 1) The use of proper nouns, such as “Rhine” and “Paris,” seems counter to the spirit of the game; and 2) The “American English” word list still has British spellings (such as words spelled with the British “re” at the end instead of the American “er”—it’s not a problem per se, but it isn’t an accurate representation of “American” spelling).

Also, there is a minor glitch: occasionally, if the app is left open on my iPhone, when I go back into it the screen is blank. I have to either close the game and restart it, or cycle through the Word List options to get it to reappear. Again, not a huge problem, but an inconvenience that impacts play.

I do still recommend this app to friends, but with the caveat to look out for proper nouns and British spellings.

**UPDATE - I figured out the problem… the iPhone 12 mini has a setting to zoom in the display for all screens and apps. I had this enabled because it makes the print easier to read. The recent update to your app put an ad banner across the bottom which blocked the bottom row as stated below. By reverting back to the regular screen view I am now able to see the entire keyboard. I do like this game very much and hope you can find a way for it to work in zoomed-in mode.

Your recent update has rendered the game unplayable. The ad banner at the bottom now covers the bottom row of the keyboard so I cannot delete, enter a guess or use the bottom row of letters. Please fix this or I will delete the app. Thank you. My device is an iPhone 12 mini.

Like many others I jumped on the Wordle bandwagon several weeks ago and soon became hooked. I particularly like being able to keep track of my scores and share them with others. But allowing only one game a day left me looking for alternatives in the App Store. What Word satisfies the craving for more than one game a day but I do miss the ability to keep track and share results. Other than that What Word is top notch 👍. One other positive comment: I find the ads more refreshing than distracting. For me the short break in the game gives me fresh eyes when it returns after the ad.

I have been enjoying this app—works well, has a good variety of words, minimal aesthetics looked nice. The new update is in my opinion a massive downgrade in terms of those aesthetics and I really dislike the new winning animation. I preferred the sans serif font, and the keyboard now displays as distorted on my screen. (The bottom row has been stretched to take up more space and is now distractingly longer than the others.) I would really appreciate either a revert to the old aesthetics, an option to change aesthetics, or at the very least the option to turn off the winning animation.

I would be very willing to purchase the app if these changes were made. As it is, the new changes make me more inclined to look for a different app to use instead.

I love this game. There are so many versions of the game available now. I started playing one I loved , but it disappeared. I’ve been searching for another good version and this would be it if it added one thing….I want to be able to fill in the letters I already guessed and know their position, into their correct spaces and not have to start with the first letter. Everyone’s brain works differently and the game is so much more enjoyable for me when I can do this. The one I played before it disappeared allowed this. I’ll keep checking back and hope the developer adds this feature. Would be a 5 star game for me if that was added!

I mostly love this app - best app to get your Wordle fix at any time. That said, having proper nouns as answers is so irritating. I’ve had Danny, Laura, etc…and just now: Yates. Yates. Seriously? Yates? Is that even anything at all? So there you are, working hard to figure out the answer, and then it’s…Yates.
And sometimes it’s the name of a location. Here’s the funny thing…sometimes you’ll reluctantly guess a proper noun (cuz Yates), and then it’ll say “we don’t recognize this word”. If it weren’t for this issue, or some answers ending in the British “re” instead of “er”, I’d recommend this to everyone.

I get that this game is free, but the sheer amount of ads made this game nearly unplayable. Sometimes as many as six unskippable ads would pop up in like 30 seconds of playtime, making it impossible to remember what I was doing/enjoy the game at all. I’m not sure how much control developers have over the ads, but you may want to consider tweaking the settings or releasing an ad-free version for a few bucks.

Other than that, it’s a fun game. I agree with the other reviewer’s suggestions to move the backspace key and let us see our stats.
