Description

SIMPLICITY WINS

Whether it's a league game, street soccer, foosball or a fun challenge, the Simple Score app keeps score and shows how much time has passed. That's all, but you'll find everything in a single, well-structured view. Because when things get hectic, you don't need bells and whistles, you need a quick and easy-to-use solution.

THE THREE FUNCTIONS OF THE APP

- With a simple tap you start the timer, pause it and restart it again. This way you always have the pure playing time without halftime and drinking breaks in view.
- Optionally, you can use a countdown timer that automatically reminds you of half-time and the end of the game.
- TAP on the red or blue scoreboard to add a goal, and LONG PRESS to subtract a goal.
- When the game is over, you can stop the timer with a tap on "Reset" and reset the score display.

WHAT IS MISSING

- No account requirement
- No subscription
- No data collection

THE STORY

As a former youth soccer coach and soccer dad of two teenagers, I've often missed the ability to quickly and easily keep track of scores and playing time at games. There are solutions for the Apple Watch, but none that allow you to do everything on one screen with just one tap. So I sat down and got to work with Swift to make my idea a reality.

I've already tracked a few high-scoring games with "What's the Score, Bro?" and it works just the way I wanted it to.

WHAT ABOUT OTHER SPORTS?

Anything that can be counted can be tracked with "What's the Score, Bro?" - even without using the timer. Everything from handball to table tennis to roundnet to a pull-up challenge can be tracked easily, clearly and casually. Because the main thing is not the app, but the game.

mkral,
Inexpensive solution for tracking youth sport scores
Several of my relatives are involved in youth sports. I like going to the games but they are long and I inevitably lose track of the score.

I bought this specifically for the score tracking so I can’t speak to the game timing function. But the score tracking works great. Just open the app on your watch and go back to what you’re doing. Every time someone scores, just tap the screen. Worked really well for me.

App creator is very responsive and even added some features that I had requested. Definitely worth the $0.99 if you’re in a similar situation.
