Description
A young boy, who has grown up by only eating bricks, discovers a fortified castle inside of him, imprisoning his heart. One evening of particularly great sadness his feelings will overflow...
"With a few bricks" is a surprising little book which poetically explores childhood's feelings.
THE BOOK
A story about feelings and construction, this original book speaks about identity-building. We figuratively dive into the heart of a young boy and the passions which animate him. His needs of strength shape his personality, but also express his weaknesses. On each page the design stages his emotions with a moving purity. Poetry, creativity and the power of the theme make "With a few bricks" a marvelous little book.
THE ADAPTATION
Illustrator and handy artist, Vincent Godeau built his first book in print. On-screen the delicate mechanisms of his pop-ups are transposed into interactions. These interactions enable the reader to accompany and communicate with the character, thereby strengthening the impact of the words. Passing from one scene to another is organic and creates an immersive experience, enriched by an abstract and surprising sound design.
NOTES
We conceived this book-app to be read by grown-ups to the children. We believe it is more enjoyable and meaningful experience for everyone than listening to a recorded voice.
The app was made for iPad and it is not optimized for iphone but in case of emergency reading you can use your phone.
