What keeps us motivated is the feedback we get from you, our users.
Many of you contact us not only to report bugs or problems, but to tell us how they use Wokabulary to learn foreign languages. And we highly appreciate all the ideas for improvement you send us.

We are convinced that the best way to improve Wokabulary is to talk and listen to our users directly. That is why we want to make it even easier for you to tell us what features and improvements you would like to see in Wokabulary.

On our new platform
feedback.wokabulary.com
you can easily submit your ideas, as well as discuss and vote on the feature requests of others.
We hope to see a lot of engagement there, so we can base further development of Wokabulary directly on your needs.

Further improvements in this version:
- Importing of words: Now tags from the imported words will also be assigned when the imported word already exists in your vocabulary. By the way, this was a feature request from Reiner.
- We fixed a bug that would let Wokabulary crash when adding tags. Thanks to Olli for reporting this.

The term “default” originally means to fail (from Old French “defaute”). In software, default values are fallback values for when the user has ‘failed’ to input a value.
Maybe this negative connotation is why on macOS settings were never called defaults but “preferences”.

In this version we add a setting so you can adjust your preferred default value for the number of words to be selected for a quiz.
5.8.2
2022-03-11
The term "cloud" comes from the Old English word "clod", which originally denoted a heap or hill of stones. Because rain clouds look like huge piles of rocks in the sky, the term "clod" was used as a metaphor and over time replaced the older term "weolcan". "Weolcan" on the other hand has the same origin as the German word "Wolken", which is still used in German for clouds.

New in this version:
• Improves handling of iCloud errors

Learning French
A very good learning ap. Has a problem pronouncing a couple of numbers
Wish list: to be able to flip the cards both ways to practice English to French or French to English.
SixManClock,
Desperately needs new quiz type!
The app’s quiz function currently displays the definition and you respond with the word. There needs to be a second format which quizzes the other way around! Display the word so that you can respond with the definition. This direction is the only one used in reading and listening and the app’s lack of this direction is a serious flaw.
nopitbulls,
Finally a decent flash card app
No-brainer 5-star rating. If you need a flash card app for LANGUAGE learning, honestly you will not find anything remotely close to this awesome app.
Bujubara,
best app
best app to learn any thing

Best app for vocabulary learning
Simple and effective. I've tried a bunch of similar apps but this one is by far the best. It gets all the details right and offers things others don't like type testing and also correction override for when you knew a word well but simply mistyped it. The filters are also another good idea- sometimes they are a little buggy which I hope gets fixed in a future update.

Too Expensive; Not Enough Words for Free
I really like the app! However, I can't just drop $5 on a srs vocabulary app just because it has a couple of new features. Yet, I can't use the free version decently because you are only allowed 30 words, which is no where near enough what is needed, even for a beginner. I realize that yes, you can get unlimited words, but there is no reason to pay $5 for that when there are plenty of free apps that could do that. If you are willing to spend the money, I recommend it, but if not, I wouldn't try it as you'll be disappointed with 30 words. I apologize if this seems harsh
RealDevil,
Good app but there is a room for improvements
This is simple but very powerful app, however the biggest pain in the whole process is the addition of new words. This is so time consuming to copy word from safari then open the app, then press + button and then look for translation in other app, then go back and confirm.

It would be much easier if you add "new word from clipboard" to the 3d touch sheet which is available on app icon and add word automatically once it's pressed, with the translation from google translate or other online translator.
postcardstaples,
Great app - just what I was looking for!
I needed an app to store a custom library of vocabulary words for an upcoming GRE exam. There aren't many free flash card apps out there which let you customize a word library so I was excited to try Wokabulary out. It's got an impressive array of free features and I'll likely be purchasing the in-app upgrade to sync devices over Dropbox, something I rarely do. I like it that much!
iRingo77,
The best vocabulary learning app
Unlike other apps that provide a set of 'recommended' words that are already chosen by the developer, with Wokabulary You can create your own list of words and manage them for multiple languages. It provides several self-quiz options and statistics view. Keep up the good work dev team!!
BoomRoasted!!,
Confused
Honestly I don't know the point of this?? It makes me pick a foreign language and then put in words myself and quiz on the vocabulary that I put in myself. I know you guys say you're not a language learning app, but you make it seem like you're one, but also not, and I'm quite confused. I would expect an app built this way to teach its users vocabulary, or teach them a language, but as is, the point of this app is lost on me.
