The game features a wooden board and wooden block tetromino pieces. The objective of the game is to form lines vertically and/or horizontally on the board using the wooden block pieces while avoiding obstacles.
Each time you form a line, the existing blocks within that column or row disappear.
The wooden block pieces can be rotated by tapping on them and can be placed on the board by dragging them with your finger.
The obstacles appear in the form of tree stumps. These stumps appear at random times during the game and must be placed on the board as well.
Since the stumps serve as obstacles, they prevent you from forming lines in columns and rows where they are placed.
So how can you continue to form lines in the game while these obstacles continue to appear?
Well, also randomly, the game provides you with matches which come in different shapes and sizes. These matches are the only way to get rid of these tree stumps so you must use the matches wisely.
While the game may seem easy in the beginning, it get's more and more challenging as the board fills up. Your goal is to hang in the game as long as you can while trying to score high.
The game is challenging, fun and addictive.
It features four difficulty levels and those levels are:

Medium: features a 10x10 grid.
Hard: features a 8x8 grid.
Insane: features a 6x6 grid.

Wooden Block Puzzle has been completely redeveloped but keep in mind that your game will get restored when you update the app. Many, many improvements were made and this was due to the review of a very dedicated Wooden Block Puzzle player! I thank the reviewer deeply for bringing the bugs to our attention.
So what has changed?
Game play. It's smarter and much, much faster. Due to Apple's iOS 11 changes, our game had some bugs. These bugs would cause the game to lock up due to the fast gameplay and Apple processing the gameplay too quickly. As a result, both the OS and the game lost track of what's happening. To address this problem, we redeveloped our code, reduced the number of calculations our code made and also greatly improved when the calculations are done and how they are done. Gameplay intelligence was highly raised. We've also improved how much information is fed to iOS.
Game saves are now done much, much more efficiently and with less processing power.
Animation was greatly improved in code. Visual changes are very minor.
Minor UI changes.
Resolution was slightly improved.
Faster gameplay.
Also, the app size was slightly reduced.

Better than Ever
Update: There was a problem with a recent update but the developers have fixed it and the bugs are gone. They listened to my concerns and worked hard to get it working better than ever. Great game!
This used to be good until the last update. It ran smoothly and never locked up on my iPhone. It updated about a week ago, and since then sometimes the pieces lock and won’t rotate unless you close the app and re-open. Even worse, when you close it and come back, it fills the top squares with bombs that were not there when you left. I had been working on a puzzle for months in my spare time and was at 885,216. Aiming for a million and would have made it but it sabotaged me by filling itself with bombs.

A True Classic!
Time will fly by as you reach inner peace through patiently, rhythmically interconnect the blocks. Your Theda waves will take over in your brain as your astral body floats off to nirvana… and just then you will receive a telling message from the beyond…you have a nine block and no place to put it. You my friend, are stuck. Such is the mystical nature of each humans’ lifetime.

Love it but there’s a new problem
I have been playing this game on my iPad for a year or more. It’s one of my favorite games, but in the last couple of weeks, when I tap on the blocks it hesitates before it responds. It never did this before, and it’s very distracting. I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it, but that didn’t help. I wish the developer would check this out. They also need to add an undo button. If they fix the problem, I would definitely give it 5 stars.

Best wooden puzzle game on app store today
This is the best of the block puzzle games. It is the only puzzle that lets me rotate pieces. It also has adjustable difficulty. +1 star.
Rotating pieces removed some of the challenge but the game is well balanced by stumps and matches. Stumps get in the way and prevent rows from clearing. Matches clear all pieces including the stumps from open squares. +1 star.
The graphics and sounds are not elaborate like competitors on the app store. Simplicity gets much longer battery life. +1 star.
All of the puzzle games lack precision on the drag and drop. When I lift a piece it moves out of proportion to my finger. This has worked good on my iPhone but on iPad it is really off-putting. -1 star.
This game supports both portrait and landscape modes so I can play it on my iPad with a keyboard attached! +1 star.

Play it all the time
Better than some of the other block games since the blocks can be rotated in order to fit the spaces that are available.
Please don’t start a new game unless you are ready to spend a couple of hours with the game because it's hard to put it back down. This is the only game we have loaded on the iPad and both phones.

Relaxing
This game calms me for some reason. It seems repetitive but I actually enjoy figuring out the best way to clear blocks and burn solid wood blocks. Sometimes I have close calls but now my score is over 500,000! :)

Addictive game
I have been enjoying this game on my phone and iPad for weeks. Great challenges.
Some ideas to make it even better would be to award more points for clearing more than one line at a time. Maybe a bonus for clearing lines in two directions? Also the added bonus on clearing the whole slate?
Again, great fun but make the tougher plays more rewarding of points.

Great way to burn time, helps make or keep your brain a little sharper. You can shut it down & return later right where you left off.

Challenging
I’ve found if I go too fast, or don’t think enough where to move, I get stuck! The game ends. I wish there was a take-back choice during a turn so we could change our minds. Sometimes I accidentally drop a set of blocks. Anyway, I like it and will keep playing.

Love this game!!!!!
I enjoy the challenge of placing the blocks in a way that will clear the most lines. The stumps make life difficult. I only wish that you could get more matches. I always have more stumps than I want!
