Word Alchemy is a fascinating single-player puzzle game for anyone who enjoys experimenting with words.
In ancient times, alchemists tried to transmute base elements like lead into the noble element gold. This game uses words as elements and your goal is to transmute one word into a different word. A puzzle consists of a pair of words. Starting with the first word, you have to find a sequence of valid words in which you only change one letter of the word in each step until you reach the last word.
Some examples of word transmutations are:
1. elm > ell > eel > gel > gal > gar > oar > oak
2. beer > bear > bead > bend > bind > wind > wine
3. wordy > words > cords > cores > cokes > jokes
The puzzles range from easy to extremely difficult, depending on the number of steps needed and how many solutions exist. There are no levels, points, or timers to detract from the simple joy of solving word puzzles. You can review all of the possible solutions and some of them are amazing!
