Great game but...
I'm on the Empire State Building, first level. I have been provided with 5letters, t h I e f, the puzzle requires a 4 letter word. The only word 8 know of is heft, which is not accepted as basing correct. I used up all my hint, game doesn't tell you how many each gem costs, it also didn't show the hinted letters. I cannot get more gems because the way to get more gems don’t work.

I rarely actually write a review for apps, if that tells you anything right off the bat!
I love word games exactly like this one. The main problem I run into is when my chill puzzle mood is ruined by a sudden interstitial ad. I got this on a promo where I could turn off the interstitial ads for free — and within five minutes this game became my favorite of the genre, and my favorite on my phone. There are still banner ads at the bottom of the screen, but those are unobtrusive and don’t disturb my mindset. I’m happy to still provide some income for the developers for providing such a great game; they respect my experience, and I appreciate that.
The music is very relaxing, and the sound effects while playing only add to the experience. Overall, a great game to chill out, relax, and gently stretch my brain with. I have a feeling I’ll be playing a lot of Word Cities in the future! Many thanks to the developers! :)

This morning all my gems disappeared but a few! WTH?!?
The “hint” button is right by where you swipe the letters, and I keep hitting it accidentally. Very aggravating! How about adding a confirmation? That would help a lot! I can only guess that’s what happened, but I didn’t notice a new word.
It’s basically a good game, despite the issues - thus two stars, not one. It’s fun, and I do enjoy playing - except for the aggravation when I brush that button and lose all my jewels. Even knowing it happens, I still hit it. This shouldn’t be a manual dexterity game!
Many legit words aren’t accepted, not even for bonus points.
Also, the correct words don’t appear in alphabetical order, which is confusing.

Glitches
Got to about the fourth level and the thing only showed one set of boxes. I thought that was strange, but “maybe they want you to come up with the whole word for this section- a sort of find the mystery word thing?” went through my head. So I did (it was “thief” btw) but when I tried to enter that, it wouldn’t take it. And using gems to fill in the box through hints just to skip the section didn’t work either. No letters appeared, even after I tapped the hint button multiple times. (Guess the game itself was the thief…of my hint gems.) So it appears that I am stuck on the first section of the Empire State Building level and cannot go any further because the game is broken.
It was otherwise a decent enough word game up to that point, but my advice is, definitely don’t buy this one until they fix the glitches.

Like this game but
Recently started crashing after I watch a point earning video. So, no points earned..... Didn't have this problem with the spinning wheel point earner.
*Update.... No longer having an issue with crashing so thanks for that. Just wish you'd bring the spinning wheel back to earn points. Takes way too long to watch enough videos to earn 1 clue. Other than that, I really like the game.
*Update2... After about 200+ levels the game/words have gotten so complicated it's necessary to constantly use hints. I like a challenge, but the fun factor had gone out of this game. Deleted it.

Enjoyable game, but…
I enjoyed this game, but ran through all the levels quickly. At the end, the game promises more levels are coming “soon”. This promise page has not changed in YEARS, and no new levels have ever been delivered.
I did try just playing the game over from the beginning, but once you’ve completed all the levels, the game no longer saves your place, instead opening at the end “promise” page, and I grew frustrated trying to keep finding where I’d left off in my repeat run-through. So, meh.
Oh yeah - have messaged the developers a couple times about the need for an update with new levels, but they don’t reply.

OMG! I’m hooked!
First it surprised me with pleasant, peaceful and relaxing music - exactly what I needed after a long day at work. Honestly it’s like meditation.
Second it is very easy to figure out how to play, no instructions needed. For some games that challenge your brain, you can easily get frustrated. However, this game is so entertaining yet challenging.
Both an adult and a child will find fun playing it. It’s such a great game to play with your kid together! Talking about non-violent, fun and educational app.
It’s cleverly designed. The elements are just right, not too much or too few. What makes an app likable depends heavily on its balance and this app is well balanced, which shows the developer/designer really put some serious thoughts in it.

The game was free 2day in AGF. HOWEVER, it said that also free 4 2DAY only disable ads. So I followed instructions & purchased the No Ads option BUT it said $2.99. I hit purchase & the thumbprint came up, I was HOPING 4 that “would you like to purchase this item for free” notice but it never came up!! It just went “Done”! APPLE!!!! U MUST make sure we kno it’s free BE4 WE HIT THE PURCHASE BUTTON!!!! Otherwise u’re not legit. If I c a $2.99 charge, I will have my bank contest the charge & I wil delete the game. I hope 2 b upd8ing this review 2 a 5 ⭐️ review within 36hrs. Might seem petty 2 u, but NOT 2 some1 on a budget.

Sick of starting over
I’m not a gamer, but I did enjoy working with words in various places around the world. The first time, I was in France and the program froze. I closed, reopened, restarted the machine, but nothing worked. So I deleted it, downloaded it again, and started over. I’m still in England, but the puzzle has dropped letters. How can I form a 6-letter work with only 5 letters. It’s not fun just starting over again with words I’ve already solved. There should be a way to fix this critical flaw.

4.3 rating is rigged!!
I actually love the concept of this game but I’ve gotten tired of how often it freezes after watching the ads to get more gems. Bad enough it freezes and I have to quit and re-start, but worse it doesn’t credit me with the gems I earned before the freeze. Basically I can’t earn unpaid gems anymore because it just freezes. Very disappointing and with all the negative reviews I see now, no way this is really 4.3!
