Description

Available exclusively for Netflix members.

They're squirmy and curious! Drag and drop living Goo Balls to build everything from bridges to giant tongues in this physics-based puzzle game.

The millions of Goo Balls that live in the beautiful World of Goo are curious to explore — but they don't know that they're in a game, or that they're extremely delicious. Connect the Goo Balls to build a wide range of jiggly architecture, including: bridges, cannonballs, and zeppelins.

This award-winning game, made entirely by two guys, has been praised for its "ingenious-level design" by IGN and named "Game of the Year" by TouchArcade and Metacritic. Be prepared to be charmed by the weird and wonderful World of Goo.

Features:

• Mysterious Levels: Each level is strange and dangerously beautiful, introducing new puzzles and areas — and the creatures that live in them.

• A Diverse World of Goo Balls: Along the way, undiscovered new species of Goo Ball, each with unique abilities, come together to ooze through reluctant tales of discovery, love, surveillance, beauty, electric power, and the third dimension.

• The Sign Painter: Someone is watching you.

• Build the Tallest Tower in World of Goo Corporation's Mysterious Sandbox: World of Goo Corporation is contractually obligated to state that everyone is a winner and is enthusiastic to celebrate everyone's tower building opportunities equally.

Updates for the Netflix edition:

• Hi-Res Art for the Modern Age: The original art for this game was designed to look excellent on screens of years past; it's now updated to double the original resolution for a remastered gameplay experience. The Netflix edition also includes support for modern screen sizes.

• Save Your Progress: Play on your phone or mobile device and track your advancement with cloud save. Each Netflix profile will track progress separately.

LightningFish,
Wonderful game, seems to be missing audio
I remember playing world of goo when I was a young kid, and this does a great job of capturing the original gameplay; the graphics are high-resolution and it functions the same.

However, it seems to be lacking audio— maybe I need to turn it on somehow, but the audio of the original game was a massive part of the experience. The soundtrack, sound effects, and ambience all came together to give the game its unique feel.
JustThatGuy1121,
I know you’re better than this Tomorrow Co.
Listen call me stupid for trying to talk to a company I get it but listen, whoever is reading this, if it’s the folks at Netflix or the actual Tomorrow Co. Games folks, I love these games, I would willingly pay again for a remaster of this game all over again, but I just can’t support a subscription for a service that I have literally no reason to want to use just so I can re-experience this game. I am willing to bet that Tomorrow Co. Games doesn’t actually know just what is going on with Netflix but please, whatever you can do, just know that as I fan I want this company and all its games to be available simply for the aspect of preserving something that made the childhood of mine and many others. I know that ya’ll are planning on making another game sometime as well, and I just hope this doesn’t mean you’re just gonna ride off the coattails of the old games and force a Netflix subscription on them, I don’t even know if this is gonna be seen by anything other than a bit programmed to reply to some stuff but please, don’t let some money from a greedy company ruin the possibilities that could come from this franchise and all the games in it, but it’s your final decision Tomorrow Co., your profits or your fans?
BIGGYZIGGY06,
Such a great game
I am shaded by nostalgia, but this game is so good I love it. I played it when I was little on the wii and have consistently came back to it over time on different platforms for its fun, simple gameplay, but this games supurb level design and charming character. The soundtrack has been in and out of my head for the last decade and it deserves to be there. This remaster seems to be pretty faithful to the original 2D Boy releases as it should be, with widescreen support and maybe some sharper graphics. I cannot recommend this title enough on any platform, though a keyboard and mouse is most comfortable to me.
jkbrwn,
Disgraceful
What a disgrace. This should be banned from the App Store. You’re required to have a subscription to Netflix to play this game. So if all you wanted to do was play this that’ll be like $15 per month.
Toddhrmn,
THANKS FOR THE NOSTALGIA
Simple game but brings back some good times
gospodbog73,
Must be banned
Requires Netflix subscription

There are some who call me, Tim,
Gameplay is still amazing, user experience is poor
If you’re just here to play through the story, so be it, you’ll probably have a good time. If, however, you’re a completionist going after the OCD awards, you’ll be exceedingly frustrated.

First, and this is huge, once you have enough goo balls in the tube to satisfy the level requirements, a giant cord drops in front of the gameplay area that said continue. In the first level with only black balls, this is okay. In latter levels with green balls were you want to disassemble the structure to claim more balls, you can’t! Or, at least, you have to do so while carefully avoiding the unappreciated button.

Second, retrying is a PITA. Once the level is completed, you’re forced back out to the level picker screen. Retrying involves selecting the same level, watching whatever intro video is programmed into it, and then starting the level. Repeat this a few times and you’ll understand how painful it is.

Third, let’s say you just completed a level and want to see how close you are to the OCD award. Should be easy, right? Nope. See point two above. Hey through the dumb cut sequence. Now find a buried menu option that’s only just available and find out what the goals are. Hopefully you remembered what scores you got on your previous attempt, because the game sure doesn’t.

So ya, all in all, it’s still world of goo, but they made some really unfortunate small-screen decisions that make replaying the game painful.
Guy 528,
This game is amazing but they stole my money
I loved this game and paid for it but out of no where, they removed it from the App Store for like 2 weeks and then brought it back as "remastered" even though it's probably just the same game or if there is some improvements, then they probably also broke some things to. Anyway now the game is free to download but immediately upon opening the app, it requires you to sign into a Netflix subscription. I just bought the game less than a month ago (like right before they removed it) so now if I delete the app and try to search for it, the only one that will show up is the Netflix version so now even though I just bought it, I can no longer search for it to re-download it. Now you have to go to your App Store account, then go to "purchased" and you can search for it from there which I guarantee 99.9% of people will not know how to do. If you bought and paid for this game when it costed money, you pretty much no longer own it. They scammed you and took your money. If Netflix is reading this, let us who already paid for it play it.
Dgdgfehrhftyrgythy,
Great mobile port of a classic.
It’s world of goo. It’s good. I wish there were in game volume controls or a mute button to play your own music in the background
