Description

Prepare for a journey throughout the Solar System as you build up your proficiency with the 1,000 Fry Sight Words!

Users of the free version can experience the first 100 words, while those who choose to upgrade gain access to all 1,000 words, as well as personalized reports that can be shared to track progress.

World of Sight Words is built on top of the same technology that powers Siri, providing real time feedback on a user's ability to properly recognize the word, and speak it back to the device. With every successful turn, the user is visually rewarded for their effort.

All users will get the following:
- The first 100 words
- Individual user account to support tracking progress
- A full list of the words, with each word playable to hear it by the user
- In-app reporting that tracks success & failures, as well as highlights incorrect words to help direct the speaker

Users who opt to upgrade will get the above, plus:
- All 1,000 words
- Per user reports generated as a PDF document that can be shared with instructors and family to track progress

Please note the following for using the app:
- This app utilizes US English
- For the speech test to work, the app must be granted permission to use the microphone and speech recognition. Additionally, the device must have Siri or Speech Dictation enabled to support speech functionality. Failure to do so will prevent the quiz portion from running.
- Speech Recognition requires an internet connection to work. Using the app without a working connection will prevent the quiz portion from running.

~Kimmiey~,
Great idea but...
I teach self-contained middle school students who are moderately impaired. This works on my iPhone but not iPad. Need to label the solar system objects with which group of 10 Fry Words is being tested so that I can use this with my students more effectively and efficiently and so they can use it independently. Finally, make it so more than one kid can put their name in. I made an account for me so I could figure out how it works and now there seems to be no way to change it or add an actual kid. This would be an excellent tool for practice on the bus while riding to field trips and, because of the microphone and speech recognition features with instant reward, for use as a home tool for my students whose parents only read and speak Spanish. This would also be a great COVID-19 resource while we are teaching online during this extended school closure.

Update: I have insured my iPad has a constant connection and I am still having the same issue with lack of recognition (I took a video and some pictures this time. I discovered the ‘Home’ button - it looks like a share button so I didn’t realize it was the Home button. Once you tap that button then several options are available including managing users. After hearing from the developer, several of the things I have mentioned are being addressed in the next update hopefully coming out this week. I really like this app and see it’s usefulness in a class like mine so I will stay tuned for the updates!
