leclairage,
Another exquisite mystery!
This game is marvelous. Absorbing, delightful, well-plotted (a true feat when time travel is involved), and very beautiful. Some puzzles are easy and some are challenging, which makes for a nice balance (and so I’m not always rushing off to read the hint guide). What was really nice in this one was how foreshadowing and clues built up over time and became relevant again later. There were moments of real suspense and surprise, but with characteristic humor and moderate nonsense throughout (the pigeon sets the tone in the beginning, and like everything else gets taken to 10 by the end). And the concept is really creative and exciting. I’m off to replay Fleeting Memory, and I’m looking forward to replaying this when I’ve forgotten enough of the details.

Navigating is confusing
Having finished the game, I’ve edited my rating and review. (The navigation tripped me up throughout the game. The developer’s response made sense and I appreciate it, but I think muscle memory kept kicking in and I couldn’t remain aware of different navigation on different screens.) IN any case, I forgot how well written this developer’s games are and how humorous. =) They know you’re going to tap on everything and so everything does something and/or there’s a comment. The “puzzles” ranged from pretty clear to mind-bending. I used several hints and sometimes thought Doh!, other times wasn’t sure I would have figured it out. Def recommend.
* * *
I have played all of this developer’s previous games, so I bought this one immediately. I expect the content will be similarly excellent once I can stop being utterly confused about where I’m going. Touching the screen “ahead” might bring you ahead or it might turn you around. After playing for 10 minutes, there doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason and I had to stop playing.
hashwbabahhaqvvwvss,
great game, wish i could finish (SPOILERS)
loved every minute up until the alien keypad. i used the alien repellent to scare everyone away but when i try to approach the keypad, my alien friend still says there are too many four-legged behind me. when i turn around the field is completely empty. i messaged the developer through their website but didn’t hear back. :(

still giving it four stars because i really liked the story and it’s been a long time since a point and click has challenged me without being totally illogical. i did use the hint system on their website a few times but the solutions always made sense (well, as much as p&c solutions ever make sense). the navigation was a bit confusing at first but i got the hang of it pretty quickly. i’m really disappointed that i didn’t get to see the ending but i still got hours of enjoyment out of it and i’m really looking forward to mysterycaper’s next game.

Difficult But Fun
This game was a bit hard at times and had to use the hint guide, but I really enjoyed it. I liked the story line and traveling through time. You can tell that a lot of thought, time, and effort was put into this game. If you like challenging games with humor, original storylines and gameplay then I would recommend this game. I am off to buy another one of their games, because I liked this one so much.
Jamcat1190,
WAY too difficult
I’ve enjoyed this developer’s other games, but this one is much too difficult and not enjoyable. The puzzles are way too obscure for my brain….and I play A LOT of point and click adventure games. This really needs to have in-game hints. Going back and forth to the developer website for hints is very cumbersome and ruins the game play. I got to the point where I was stuck, despite the website clues. For some puzzles, the website gives you the exact answers, and for others it only gives vague clues. I play games for fun and relaxation, not to feel frustration. This started out as fun, but quickly became frustrating…so I deleted it. I’m giving 3 stars, instead of 1, only because the graphics are great and I didn’t experience any bugs.

Love these games, minor navigation issue
THANK YOU for releasing another game! Please keep them coming.

Yes, the puzzles can be challenging but my biggest critique is how you navigate in the game. For instance, I find myself clicking the arrow to go to the next scene, expecting it to be in a linear fashion like most point and clicks. But sometimes clicking to the next scene has you randomly oriented a different direction (looking backward at where you came from rather than looking forward in the direction you were going toward).

So I find myself frequently getting stuck between two scenes— accidentally going back to where I came from, because I thought I was walking/facing forward. It’s helpful that you put a small “reverse arrow” to indicate “turning around”, but it is very confusing to have to think about the arrow. I hope that my comment makes sense!

Please know that this is only a minor complaint. I am obsessed with your games and can’t wait for the next one! I admire your effort to respond to nearly all questions and reviews— you helped me when I was stuck in the past!
Agpaffc,
LOVE this game!
I’m not sure I agree with others saying this game is too hard. I think it’s tougher than Mystery Caper’s two earlier games, but I think it’s great fun, I’m glad gameplay lasts longer, and the hint system really helps if you get stuck (so does posting on the website’s comments section for those like me who get really stuck, btw). I would absolutely encourage people to get this game!
dankaufman.net,
Epic point and click adventure!
Just finished this. There’s a LOT of fun gameplay for the price. I got hooked on the story and had to keep playing until i got to the end.

The art is charming. The writing is funny and fun. The puzzles are creative and challenging and go beyond the usual point-and-click fare in clever inventiveness.

I got stuck sometimes, but they have a terrific hints page that gives you tiny bits of info before the full answer so you can still have the fun of working things out.

Very much looking forward to playing the rest of their games. If you’re a fan of this genre, you should check this out.
Almighty Cloud,
Fantastic game!
As with the other Mystery Caper games, I am both impressed and highly amused. Also, I recognized some of the musical bits as used in other games, one from Drawn and one from Tasty Planet, though it could be that you just drew from the same musical assets as they. If it was intentional, I like it, cool little references :)
adbinco,
Excellent!
I don’t usually write reviews, even when I enjoy the game. But, this game was SO much fun. Some of the puzzles were quite challenging, but the developer went the extra mile and provided an excellent hint system. I look forward to more games from this developer!
