So many examples of calligraphy styles for each character. I use this app to help improve my Chinese penmanship, and it's incredibly helpful.
I also like how the name of each calligrapher is listed below their respective examples, allowing users to go online elsewhere to find more in-context samples of their calligraphy styles.

For both Chinese and English speaking user to learn Chinese Calligraphy this is one of the best app I have encountered.
I am impressed the amount of data they collected and the fact that you can search in English is very thoughtful.

Great Reference
This is a great app to learn the proper placement of Chinese characters in a square grid, and it offers different style to choose from.
Some characters has more styles than others.
I also like the draw where I can practice the placement.
This is not the app to practice brush calligraphy, unless the app can sense the pressure of our finger as a brush.
It only allows searching one character at a time. It would be good to search multiple characters, like for a complete sentence, to save time.

Ever wonder how the character 集 represents 3 birds perched on a tree? Look at the seal character representation of 集 to see why. This app is invaluable to anyone interested in character etymology. Furthermore, all characters - old and new - are beautifully represented.

No longer working with new iOS
I’m so sad that I can’t use this app anymore. I noticed it didn’t work with iOS 15 and definitely doesn’t work with iOS 16. I type in a character and the results are blank. Nothing populates anymore. Such a bummer.
