Could be organized better
The day before I was to start, I looked at the recipes to see if I could print them so I could do some batch cooking. Nope. Not an option. I can’t be in the kitchen preparing each meal since I work. And to open a recipe for lunch, only to find out that you need a cooked potato or cooked quinoa first, well, thats stupid. It didn’t mention in the grocery list that I need to have the items cooked before starting. I found that I had to sit down and write out all the days meals for the week so that I could batch cook what I needed in order to fit in the time. If I was a stay at home worker or mom, it would be easy enough to spend time in the kitchen preparing each meal as I would consume it, but that isn’t reality for most of us. They need to add a section of “meal prep” to do on a Sunday before we start the recipes. I also would like the ability to change the servings. I’m doing this for myself and yet, most recipes serve 4 or 5. Doing this would stock me up with so many leftovers, that I’d GAIN weight from having to eat them all myself. A simple serving option of 1 or 2 would be better.

This app has some issues
What I love about this app: You have a video for each day and a grocery list for the week. You can check off what you already have. The recipes seem simple enough and if you like a recipe, adding it to your favorites is easy by touching the heart. It took some time to get used too.

What I hate about this app: Every time and I do mean every time I open this app, my screen turns black. Then I have to uninstall and then reinstall in order to open it. I’m bummed because I do like this app a lot. Maybe there’s a bug or something, I don’t know…but at least every time I reinstall this app, it remembers my login information.

Doctor recommended but so far not impressed
My doctor recommended me to get this app because he told me I needed to lose weight and try a vegan lifestyle so I was interested in trying this app I downloaded it once I clicked on the grocery list got interrupted so I shut it off came back opened the app to find a blank white screen and it would not leave the screen nothing would change tried closing the app and restarting the app and nothing it just kept going to the blank white screen uninstalled the app and reinstalled the app clicked on the grocery list again i set my phone down for a few minutes came back opened it up and again same white screen tried closing the app and restarting the app still nothing so I am not impressed with your app at all and I was really looking forward to getting some new recipes and finding better ways to eat to help me lose weight but you guys need to fix something not impressed I will be looking for different food apps

Simple, handy tool for new vegans
Great app: the recipes are tasty, simple, and have good variety. I found the schedule easy enough to deviate from if I decided to scale up the portions of some recipes and eating something several days in a row so I wouldn’t always need to cook. It also meant saving some of the recipes to come back to after the 21 days!

This app has had some technical updates that fixed many of the bugs other reviewers have been experiencing. I’m someone who would prefer to look at my computer rather than my phone while cooking, so I hope future updates include a more seamless linking out to parallel resources that can be accessed from a laptop web browser.

Set up is glitchy
I chose imperial measurements but it’s all in metric. Can’t access the settings to change it anywhere I can find. And even though I set it to start a week from now it defaulted to “start tomorrow” and it can’t be changed.
The recipes look ok but on day 1 you need some specific kind of sugar/syrup and it says not to substitute maple syrup— so I can’t change the start date to give me more time to gather weird ingredients and it offers no substitute.
I think I can use and enjoy the app but it needs some bug fixes and retooling.

The food is good. The app is buggy.
I have tried several recipes. They taste decent. My complaint is that some recipes don’t allow you to see all the information. It seems to be a bug in the app that for instance will show the ingredients list but won’t show the instructions for that recipe…ever. Or have part of the instructions cut off. I wish I could sign in and see the same thing in their website, but it just tells you to download the app. I think googling the recipe will find it elsewhere on the pcrm website. I just wish I didn’t have to waste the time.

Still buggy
This morning every recipe I tapped on for directions was jumpy and flashed only for a second before going blank. The recipes look pretty easy with ingredients I can easily find locally and where I live there aren’t a lot of good options. I think it would be great if the directions didn’t include large pictures that take up a lot of room. Nobody needs the pictures on how to cook unless they can’t read. Otherwise, make the pictures smaller.

App Fails
I spent the first day browsing the app and taking note of groceries I need to get and then when I went to open the app again it just went black. I tried restarting my phone a couple times and I re-downloaded the app and it just keeps happening. When I open the app it shows the title page and then it goes black. The recipes looked very good and I was so excited to use this app especially after listening to a podcast from the guy who helped create the app, but it’s very disappointing that it won’t load.

I love how simple the recipes are and the videos and encouragement from nutrition experts help me stay motivated. These meal ideas are all simple and achievable and I’ve been able to incorporate them into my daily routine without any problems. If you’re looking for support to improve your health and start a plant-based diet, this is a great place to start.

From easy-to-follow recipes and the nutrition videos to complement, this app provides all you need to start the 21-day transition (or try out) a whole-food plant-based diet. I love that the recipes are diverse and the meals are flavorful. It also helped me to find ways of preparing some foods I wasn’t already good at including regularly!
