MOSTLY BROKEN and abandoned.
August 2019 update claims to fix SMB issues, but the app just crashes whenever I want to pickup where I left off. Maybe an issue relating to its retention bookmark ability. Anyway, nothing’s better, just worse.
Update as of May 7th, 2019.
Still having atrocious smb connection problems. I have other apps which make these same connections instantaneously and without trouble, using the same protocols. There’s no justification for this failure to be prevalent for months and months on end with no resolution.
Avoid this app; my feeling is that the developer has moved on mostly, and there are plenty of competing apps that are better now.
Very sad.

Not too bad, needs a bit of work.
Basic features work, but it has lots of quirks.
The GUI is OK, lacks some basic sorting and browsing functions, you can not control the volume from the volume buttons on the phone, you can not switch devices without stoping the media, little things, that add up.
But, it does play my DLNA library to my AVR.

So happy I found this, just one thing...
This app is amazing! I love that I can stream video from my laptop via an ad hoc network connection! Buffers fast, and fast forwarding buffers super quick too! The only thing that I really want added is the ability to auto load subtitles, it's a little annoying to always have to turn that on, but besides that this app is great for streaming my hd 720 anime in .mkv format to my iPad. Also please add a description of when the advanced features are, have no problem giving money to this great app, but I would like to know what the features are.

Only one that works with my NAS and plays all movie types
I've bought and tried many players on my iPad 2 and mini. This is the only player that works correctly (for me) using smb shares on my netgear readynas duo. This player allows me to download and take on the go all my favorite movies. A bonus is that it plays just about any video type. I travel a lot on long international flights that have no wifi and sub par entertainment so this app is perfect for me.
