Description

A Dance of Fire and Ice is a strict one-button rhythm game. Keep your focus as you guide two orbiting planets down a path without breaking their perfect equilibrium.

It's pretty hard to describe, but you should play the free online version on a desktop computer first if you are not sure if you would enjoy this game!

Features:

- More than 10 worlds, each introducing new shapes and rhythms. What do triangles, octagons or squares sound like? Each world starts with small tutorial stages and ends with a final test.

- Post-game challenges: Speed Trials for each world and a blisteringly fast bonus level for the brave.

- Calibration options: auto-calibration and manual calibration. This is a precise rhythm game, so use your ears more than your eyes when playing.

- Play new levels for free: more levels will be added over the coming months.

WARNING: This is a hard rhythm game. Not in the sense of note-spamming - for the most part all you have to do is keep a consistent beat - but this is a good test of whether you would be a good drummer. Keeping a beat is not very easy, and then weird breakbeats are added on top of that, so don't worry if you find it difficult!

3-Year Anniversary Update

Collaboration with “Rhythm Journey”

New World: Fear Grows, with music by Linky

Recently we became fans of a new indie rhythm game, Rhythm Journey. It's a game inspired by ADOFAI on the surface (with tutorial levels for each song, speed trials, one-hit death etc), but actually tackles a different aspect of rhythm theory! It's focused on teaching you different kick and snare rhythms on the drums, so it uses two buttons instead of one. Each song is written to teach you a unique rhythm, from ghost notes to swing notes to fun drum fills. We at 7th Beat Games are all about unique rhythm mechanics so we love it. Not enough people are playing this game, so now we're doing a collab so that more of you will check it out. The new world, RJ, has a special one-time gimmick that's a nod to their game's mechanic, guess what it is…

Thanks to Linky, the musician of Rhythm Journey for supplying the song and also making all the tutorial tracks! And check their game out for their part of the collab, featuring their interpretation of ADOFAI's title track!

Practice Mode: With the Practice Mode option toggled on, you can practice a segment of a level that you’ve failed on. After you lose, press the Practice button before respawning to trigger Practice Mode. This will give you a chance to practice the segment of the song that you’re stuck on. You can exit Practice Mode in the Pause Menu.

Hamperedism,
Final songs as previews please
You do not give yourself nearly enough credit to start off. This is exactly the kind of game for me. Challenging and you can pick it up/put it down as you see fit ( as long as you can hear it, of course). I applaud thee. I have defeated all but two songs, and am perfectly happy to keep adding to my attempt count with no practice rounds. Thank you for all of the good effort put into this masterpiece. I cannot wait to dive into the recently purchased steam version for all of the player-created content!

One con: I do not think my iPhone XR can keep up on some of the later levels. It will sometimes miss on very obvious and clear non-misses ( says I hit too early or too late on painfully obvious “perfect” marks ) and it will stop vibrating mid song on a few songs, which can be distracting. This may just be my phone, however. I literally recommend this game to anyone. Casual or challenging this is the game for you! Thank you devs, I cannot wait for more content or a part two!
oofiegame,
Best Game You’ll Ever Play
This year has been so...strange, to say the least, but this game has honestly made it so much better. I don’t know what it is about this game, but it’s so amazing and makes me feel satisfied and content while playing. The music, the simple yet challenging gameplay, the extra levels at the end— they all tie into each other to make this a truly amazing game to play. I’d honestly pay 3x this game cost just to experience it all again! The developers of this game deserve all the praise and congratulations because this app is truly a masterpiece. While the game may feel short to some, there’s a lot you can do here and the app is constantly updating and adding newer levels. My sister and I are absolutely HOOKED on this game and we'll sometimes challenge each other to see who can get highest on the speed runs. Thank you for such a great game I can’t get enough of it! The developing team deserves a clap on the back!!
tiny bunbun,
Good game
This game is by far one of my favorites. I even have it on my computer where you can add custom levels on it. There is only one thing that bothers me on the mobile app though, sometimes when I press on the screen it just won’t recognize that I’m doing so and it messes up my game or whatever round I’m on. I’ve noticed this happens a few times then I try to click it again right after it passes and it doesn’t even give me the “late” message that it usually does it I click late. It might just be a device error. But that is all. Otherwise this game is very fantastic
CombatRanger911,
Great game but some problems
So I’ve played the pc version of this game, which is great. I loved it. So when I saw that I come play it on the go, I was excited. I’ve almost beat it, I just have to do the speed trials, but I’ve found something. Firstly, on map 9 the transition for the track aren’t working (when the alien ships deposit them) so it’s a little weird trying to find when/where to press. Another thing is, the vibrations cut out randomly. I’ll be doing a map, and towards the end, the vibrations cut out and it disorients me and I end up either hitting too early and failing or missing entirely. Also, the option to turn on and off vibrations doesn’t work, as I’m still getting vibrations.
fury fighter 197,
Awesome game, but...
This game is amazing and I constantly find myself coming back to it. I just have one problem, though. When it comes to speed trials, worlds 6 and 8 seem wrong. World 6's target speed is 1.1x, which is barely faster than normal, while world 8's target is 1.3x, making it extremely fast. This wouldn't normally be an issue, but seeing as it is these two worlds specifically, it is one. World 6 is averagely paced or even slow in the eyes of some, while world 8 is a much faster world. I was even able to beat world 6 at 1.3x speed within just a few attempts, while I am still struggling at 1.2x speed on world 8. So if you see this, please swap the target speeds of these two worlds.
73718129,
The perfect game but one question
I left a review saying that it was perfect and it still is and last time I said there was a screen bug and they fixed that. So the game is now perfect but I have one question: is one forgotten night on ADOFAI mobile? I got this game on steam and I saw that if you do something in the hub on computer and I thought that level was challenging and I liked it and I wondered if it was on mobile so I looked it up and nothing showed up and then you replied to my review so I’m doing this the same day. I’d one forgotten night on mobile?
bananacactucman,
Why is it easier on mobile?
The method of input on mobile is just the same as on pc and it’s just as easy to play the game so why does mobile have to be so much easier? The timings are not strict at all and I was able to beat the hardest levels almost immediately after struggling on them on pc. The trend of mobile being harder to use is kinda dumb and especially irrelevant for rhythm games. I wish you would make the game just as hard as on pc to make it fair for everyone.
Other than that phenomenal game. I still enjoyed it despite its easier difficulty and the levels and soundtrack are great.
adofai player,
DLC Vs Update
I really like this game, very fun but could add a few things.
1. I don’t understand why the steam version and the mobile version are so different. Why can’t the mobile version have a level editor. If you have heard of geometry dash, you know they have a level editor why not this version not have a level editor.
2. I also don’t understand why the neo cosmos DLC could have just been an update to the game, why is it dlc, when I am playing, I saw it, I am also not able to make in app purchases, because my phone has parental controls, so I can’t play it. Could you just make the neo cosmos dlc just a part of the game?
3. I hope you respond to this

This is awesome.
Sure, some of the levels are extremely hard, but all that makes you do is remember the pattern of the beat, to successfully hit the notes. For example, I was stuck on the final level in world one. Not to mention the songs are awesome. But I was stuck on one particular part, trying over and over again, when I finished the level, I was proud of myself. This game is just a cool and calm rhythm game, making you feel proud of yourself after finishing one really hard level. Keep up the good work.
Magearnax,
Simply Incredible
A phenomenal game, made even better now by Trans-Neptunian Object, It Go, and Neo Cosmos. Just one problem that I have with each of those new worlds: for whatever reason, when I get a Pure Perfect on any of them, it still says "Congratulations!" instead of "Pure Perfect!" and the accuracy text on the level select does not turn gold like the rest of the worlds. Other than that, there's nothing bad I could possibly say about it, and I'm curious about what the "To Be Continued..." is foreshadowing!
