Can’t really call it a life simulator with decision making when your character is losing money, is unemployed, and refuses to get a new job like an idiot.
The idea of the game is nice, but the execution needs more refinement and enhancement. The first issue I have with the game is that I can’t find any way to view my character’s stats unless I’ve made a decision. Players should be able to view their character’s stats whenever they want so our decisions and planning can be more informed.
Second issue is that the choices feel very RNG and chaotic rather than adhering to the logic and rationality of our character based on their stats or situations. For example, if I had lost/quit my job, then the most reasonable decision I should do is find another job. Instead, the game makes you wait for these events to trigger. What often happens is that your character just idles and makes inane decision while their saving slowly bleed out. Or maybe the fact that I’ll have a highly intelligent character, or some other stat that makes them stand out, but nothing about the decision making makes them feel special or that their stats mean anything. I haven’t even seen any of my highly intelligent characters ever go into STEM related work despite having them go through all networking and academic stuff.
The decisions and their consequence feel extremely isolated and meaningless. It’s like they have no repercussions or logic at all, thus making the game feel hollow.
