Aperture Labs,
Still...
Good game, but it still doesn’t support IPhone X screens.
TheZenMonkey,
Mostly pointless
Why even try to attain high levels when there’s no payoff? One character had hugely high athleticism and all that happened was an offer to train at NASA later in life. No real choices that could have come in her teens and college years.

And there’s not much continuity or logic. I gained a partner somehow without even knowing it. I was out of work for years and years (you’re always the breadwinner even if you’re in a relationship or married) and my savings dwindled; obviously at some point my highly intelligent character would have settled for a job at McDonald’s by then.

Plus, some of the pluses and minuses are ignorant and/or judgey. Choosing to use a wheelchair reduces happiness, which is an incorrect stereotype about disabled people and mobility devices. Pick a boy two times out of three choices and you’re assigned a binary straight/gay orientation.

It’s fun enough for one, maybe two playthroughs. But life is so much more complicated and interesting than this “Would You Rather” simulator would have it. It seems to want to be a more complex version of Reigns, but in not going far enough, it failed.
redheadheroine,
There are no consequences apparently
I didn’t really see any consequences for my actions (I just saw the same actions over and over again). I’ve been in so many plays and danced for so many girls.

Also, you just gave me the option to have my iteration kill themselves??? Why the heck would you so casually bring that up? How can I die of COPD but not be diagnosed with depression or something?

Finally, eating chocolate doesn’t make you ugly! Get that body-shaming bs out of here.

Good bones - needs improvement.
Overall the idea behind the game is a good one and it is relatively simple to play. That being said, I think it could really use some improving.

I would like this game more if the choices and life trajectory were more sequential. What I mean is that the choices you make should lead (or not lead) to other life events. More than just the stats going up or down. Like if I choose to study political science at a university, then the career options that follow should be in that field < for example.

Also, I would like to see more story lines involved. Like a brief description of how your choices have impacted your life ( in addition to the stars change). For example, if I'm married and choose to have an affair it could say something like "your affair has caused your wife to no longer trust you. She is consisting divorce. Your children are angry and have made it apparent they no longer want to speak to you". Then other choices could be impacted too. Like you could be given the choice of going to counseling with your wife or getting a divorce along with a statement such as "your wife has decided she wants to work things out. Will you go to counseling with her?"

Fun
This is better than bitlife

Good for what it is.
This game is a pleasant little game that involves random decisions that somewhat rely on the stats that you have built. It’s a neat idea to assure that no two playthroughs are the same.

But lets be honest. There should be a few choices in life that aren’t random. The choice to go to college. What type of career to delve into. My first ever character had high athleticism. My first thought is “okay cool. I will focus on that and become a professional Athlete of some sort.” Only to learn that the only job offer she would receive would be desk clerk. A sad place for someone who highly favored activity instead of leisure.

Again. It’s great for what it does. Making no two play throughs the same. Some harder then others. But while life is indeed random and unpredictable, I would like to believe there is some control to education and careers. 4/5
Writer_A,
Feels less like a choice.
Can’t really call it a life simulator with decision making when your character is losing money, is unemployed, and refuses to get a new job like an idiot.

The idea of the game is nice, but the execution needs more refinement and enhancement. The first issue I have with the game is that I can’t find any way to view my character’s stats unless I’ve made a decision. Players should be able to view their character’s stats whenever they want so our decisions and planning can be more informed.

Second issue is that the choices feel very RNG and chaotic rather than adhering to the logic and rationality of our character based on their stats or situations. For example, if I had lost/quit my job, then the most reasonable decision I should do is find another job. Instead, the game makes you wait for these events to trigger. What often happens is that your character just idles and makes inane decision while their saving slowly bleed out. Or maybe the fact that I’ll have a highly intelligent character, or some other stat that makes them stand out, but nothing about the decision making makes them feel special or that their stats mean anything. I haven’t even seen any of my highly intelligent characters ever go into STEM related work despite having them go through all networking and academic stuff.

The decisions and their consequence feel extremely isolated and meaningless. It’s like they have no repercussions or logic at all, thus making the game feel hollow.
Mr. AwesomeManJr.,
Please Update AGAIN!!
It’s been a year since the last update. Now I just got the game and love it because I can play it when I can’t get service but I would like to be able to continue past the age 78 and see if I can survive past 100. If I retire and go to the nursing home just give me options I can only do in one but. Not able to be Mayor or president pass that point but more like to die of a disease if I don’t eat right. Also would like to have the options to pick what college I should attend. (Give four choices on some options) overall bring updates or make a new app where you can even see what he or she may look like randomly generated. Thanks Developers! I hope you have to the time to read this.
Ben_the_humanYT,
Good game. But..
The game is nice overall but it requires more options, endings, and outcomes. Sometimes it’s annoying to only be able to pick two options at a time, I’ve been trying to go into the military or even becoming a bully but I just don’t seem to get those choices no matter what, maybe there should be a “good or bad” scale built into the game so that the outcomes can differ depending on your level. Sometimes I get fired or I quit but I never get another job, there should be more chances to get better things rather than living in poverty the rest of your life.
andersem,
subtly moving
Not many games are capable of reminding us of the shortness and preciousness of life. This is one of them - not through a single play but through repeated plays, which let you begin to understand how many lives are mostly similar, because of the natural constraints time puts on us. This game, played repeatedly, is reassuring in some ways, troubling in others. It’s not a masterpiece or anything but it’s a fine piece of work.
