CoolCatAutumn,
Positive vibes!
I am the kind of person that needs to know “why” in order to accomplish a task I have been to psychologists, counceling, and one CBT and not one person explained why, where, and how anxiety works impacts your life. My professionals all start out the same way!!! It’s adrenaline that creates flight or fight decisions. That’s it!! Even my CBT told me to read a book! I think he just wanted to gab every session. I needed help and tools and exercises!

Within 10 seconds this app made me really understand why I feel this way!! And that was before I had to pay!! If you are not locked in to a multiple month contract why not try it? My anxiety is costing me more then $99 a month! This is what I have been looking for! I don’t have to leave home which is part of anxiety which is part of not getting help. I have spent $99 before in much more ludicrous ways. I’m in.

Horrible & Humiliating Experience
This company sought me out & seemed like a great option. I had an hour interview with a so-called therapist. I was told that she would be reaching out to me twice a week starting the following week. She never reached out. Three weeks later, she called to tell me that they would not help me with my therapeutic needs as I needed in person help. She didn’t bother to explain why they came to that decision as she was in a hurry to end the conversation & couldn’t hang up fast enough. It was jarring & humiliating to be dumped so abruptly without any real explanation but I was somewhat soothed by the promise that she would send me referrals for counseling. The referrals never came. I emailed ableto several times requesting this promised information & received no response. I finally called ableto & was again promised the information & again it never came. I am really surprised that this group is licensed to give any type of therapeutic services as they only seem to offer humiliation & avoidance. There have to be far better choices out there than this unprofessional operation. I would keep looking if I were you…

My coach is very observant
She was able to tell from less than 30 minutes of talking that I have Asperger’s Syndrome. The fact that she was able to guess that correctly means that AbleTo definitely hired a very intelligent therapist.

While I haven’t used the app as much, the service so far in the first two sessions has been incredible! I believe that AbleTo can help anyone else if they are willing to reach their hand out to ask for help.

Also AbleTo does provide helpful options such as suggestion to group counseling and suggestions for books to read.

Horrible
This app was suggested to me during a mental health crisis. After signing up they said they would call to set up an appointment. Well I signed up three times and did not receive a call for MONTHS. Once I finally had my first appointment it ended up being a rehash of all the same intake questions I had already filled out online, which would be fine if I was discussing them with a therapist or coach that was going to be working with me, but it was just a random worker who had no actual interest in what I was saying. Finally when I was scheduled with an actual therapist to start the program they called me to let me know the therapist is no longer with the company so they will have to reschedule with someone else. That was the final straw and I gave up. This is clearly a “corporate” response to mental health, they do not actually care at all. The app is also buggy and crashes and would not even work, I had to use the website to schedule and create a profile. Everything was absolutely awful.

I like the app but have a few suggestions
Love the concepts and videos for the app. Love my therapist and life coach. However, it would be great if you could make the tools more mobile friendly - the worksheets cannot be used unless I print them out or save them as a PDF file, please make it so I can use my phone to fill them out by allowing me to type on it. It would be cool if you could integrate them as exercise modules like the “Brightside” app. Also, it would be nice if you could have more audio lessons that I could listen to in the car besides meditation. I would love it if you could make the app a little more fun and it function a little less “clinical” looking. I really believe that would get people to engage with it more. I wish it had more features that were user friendly. The journal and 3c’s is great, please make it more functional with more bells and whistles.

love the human touch!
I've used over 10 mental health apps (ginger, Lantern, itskoko, betterhelp... you name it) and Joyable has been my favorite so far. During my very first phone call with my coach Leyla, I felt understated immediately. I love how she didn't give unsolicited advice like other apps do. She listened well and asked insightful questions that guided me to develop the strength of reconstructing thoughts. I love the structure of the 8 week program. It feels time bounded and doesn't create long term dependency between me and Joyable. Right now, I know that I have the tools needed when feeling anxious. Thanks to Joyable and Leyla.

I believe in this concept
Also the reason why I give it 5 stars is because there are lots of hard working people out there, with real goals in mind that want access to this service. Being 99$ a month it’s really a fair price. In my opinion should be 100$ 😁 to break it even. I bet people working really hard and diligently on this program and it’s success. So for that I will let this to be said Money Back Guaranteed. I will be very excited to put effort behind this investment and great journey I am about to take. Bon Voyage!
Sirengrrl,
A Lifelong tool for dealing w/anxiety at only $99?! I’m in.
It’s clear the developers and coaches of this app have dedicated much time & care in designing the experiences and support provided by Joyable. PsyD degrees are expensive and professional therapists cost $125-$225/hour - for one session. $99 for a dedicated coach and a whole app of CBT-based tools for dealing w/anxiety?! It’s genius. And I’m grateful. Don’t listen to the “$99 is too much,” reviews - its a highly effective app that does what it claims- helps you deal with anxiety. Thank you to all the people involved.

Wish the free trial was more “free”
I was excited to try this app as I’m looking for anything to give relief. However I can’t just throw $99 if I don’t know what I’m fully getting and if it’s for me. So I was frustrated when the free trial required my credit card information to do it. If I didn’t like it after 6 days could I cancel with no issue?

I’ve also seen that 2 years ago some other people made similar comments about accessibility for those with low income, and the developer responded to a lot of comments saying they are “trying to make it more accessible” and yet we have the same issues here again.

Really wish I could have tried it 😞

App Store info is misleading
Although this app description breaks down that this is indeed more of a paid app, the app is technically listed as a free app. That can lead to click-bait type schemes that are not favorable to consumers due to its inherent lack of trust with the choice of categorization.

I do not find the services helpful for me or with folks that I have chatted with. But, that’s the great part of the App Store’s diversity of apps.

I would recommend to the app developer that they re-categorize to mention an in-app purchase. Secondly, I would recommend they allow folks try a free portion of your app in order to get as much consumer feedback to improve the quality of the experience.
