S-capr,
Unsaved progress....
Like the varied puzzles on the Haiku games. On some, I have worked off & on for hours because the game doesn’t save my progress, which I find frustrating. I had been farther along on a level and used 30 stars to skip one game, only to discover the next time I opened the game to have to restart the whole level yet again, minus the 30 stars AND still had the game to be played that I had previously skipped, before I could move on.
I do understand not everybody will like EVERY game, but I do like your varied selection of games. A “restart” button would be helpful on more games.

Excellent game
Another fantastic game from Haiku games, which immerses the player in a snowy winter mystery, filled with suspense and intrigue at every turn. All that is needed is a cup of hot chocolate to go along with it. Just as intriguing is how this excellent game is actually getting low-star reviews from some nutcases claiming this game is putting out “anti-gun propaganda” or was “impossible”. Maybe if you have the IQ of a doorknob. This game has excellent artwork, a great immersive story, and just challenging enough puzzles. I would like to see what these armchair critics with impossible standards think is a good game, because I haven’t found anything better than these, and I’m an avid game player. Haiku Games, I think it’s time you start charging for your games, so you can be more selective as to who gets the privilege of playing and rating these games, and you get a more genuine audience who actually is smart enough to spot a good game when they see one.
ElizaCalvin,
Best Detective Kate Mystery Yet!
I stumbled across Haiku games about a month ago and I have never been more impressed with a mystery game—and it’s even free! So far, I have played Framed, Xmas Killer, Murder Manor, Starstruck, and Escape Cult and I would probably rank them in that order from best to “worst”, worst being relative, because I truly enjoyed them all! But this one take the cake! Murder Inn is my new favorite—the story line was excellent and my jaw dropped more than once when new information was revealed. As always with Haiku games, the graphics and storytelling are top-notch and I love that the focus is more on solving puzzles than just hidden objects. Get this game—you’ll love it!
Hollywould3,
No thanks...
I had just played Haunted Hunt and was so thrilled and impressed that I looked for another Haiku game. Murder Inn was such a let down. Waaay too many ambiguous clues and puzzles that were boring and redundant, not to mention frustrating. I think they tried way too hard to be clever at every single turn so gameplay was just tedious. Also, some puzzles have more than one correct solution (ie the dinner menu, and the checker game) so even if you are correct, you cannot move on until you figure out the “accepted” answer. I’m not in to having to re-solve things after spending a lot of time getting to the solution. This is a hard pass... it wasn’t even remotely fun because their clues and puzzles are so “out there”. I’m not saying the game should be easy but this game is chaotic and unrewarding.
Echilders,
Loved it until Scene 2
This is my third Haiku game I have downloaded and enjoyed up to a certain point. I’ve loved the first two games (Asylum and the Mansion) and I was able to complete the first two games. However, I couldn’t get past the second scene in this game and have tried for days but couldn’t get past the extremely limited clues in it. I think this game would benefit in more bonuses like additional daily stars to help people like me get through tough puzzles or provide at least a little bit more guidance. I love the Haiku games and am actually downloading another one right now. I’ve had to delete this one because I just got fed up with the really cryptic clues.
Decor Diva 17,
Pretty good game!
I actually loved playing this game. The puzzles were challenging without being too hard and I really enjoyed the interaction of the clues. My main problem with it was that you can’t save your progress to where you are. It saves the individual level, but you are back at the beginning of each one. It also saves the fact that you’ve completed the puzzles, which I did like. But to work through a level almost to the end and not be able to save your progress was very frustrating. All in all, I did love playing it, though.
reggie2:0,
Ridiculous puzzles
This is my 4th game with this developer. I deleted this game at part 2 following the Xmas Killer I had just finished. If I must depend on the “walkthrough” on most puzzles then it is not worth my time playing. I want difficult puzzles but the developers jumped through hoops to make the solutions impossible to figure out. Even with help from the “walkthrough” the puzzle solutions sometimes made no sense. I am perfectly ok with spending on hour on a puzzle - but using a walkthrough often takes the enjoyment out of the game. And I agree with another reviewer, some puzzles appear to have more than 1 solution. The block puzzle with the trees and animals for example.
duidance,
A tough one, but I still love t
I always want the figure out a Haiku game. Sometimes I get so frustrated with one (like this one), I'll delete and it. After several months, I'll download it and try again. Other Haiku games, I manage to complete without deleting along the way. These are great games for critical thinking. I wouldn't want the developers to change a thing... except for gameplay that requires physical functions such as finger tracking or device turning. Now that drives me crazy. I'd rather just use my brain ;)
Pixieechick,
Insanely Good Games
These games are so original, well thought out and carefully articulated. Not only is the storyline intriguing but the gameplay is marvelous and you never want them to end. And somehow it seems like they don’t. When I think they are getting close, there is still so much more story to go and it’s fun from beginning to end. Totally satisfying. Many props to all who work on the Haiku games. You make um, I’ll keep playing them. Thank you for your original ideas, and for being so invested in what you do. It shows.
Rad333,
Another greaT game
I have downloaded and played all the haiku games adventure escape. They are the perfect balance of challenge and pace. The hint system is just right to keep things moving if you get really stuck but puzzles aren’t too hard or too easy. Some of them take a while, though. And I am very impressed with the way the developers come up with so many different puzzle ideas in spite of all the games they have out. Good job! Highly recommend for people who like these kind of puzzle escape adventure games.
