AceRookBlaze,
Great Game, just fix the ads.
This is an amazing game, it’s fun, has good graphics (for the time, this was made in 1989), and deserves better treatment. You can play the game offline, but you are limited to not being able to rewind and save. The problem is the ads (as all mobile games are), however. You can’t even save without viewing an ad! Not only that, but the game gives you an ad often when you pause! Sega, remove these issues, and I will bump this up to 5 stars.
a random Anna main.,
Great Game, with one exception
Great Game, I really only have one minor gripe is that you have to pay to be able to play it without ads. You have to pay $2.00 USD in order to be able to play the game and not have intrusive ads ruining your fun. If whoever does the Sega Forever line of classics can stop this two dollar B.S. just for a quick $2.00 from someone paying to get it without ads? Really? If your going to make someone pay for the full game without ads anyway why don’t you just have them pay $2.00 to even play the game I’ll continue to play the game once but, until there’s an update where we can play the game without ads and not be out $2.00 for this scummy business model. I don’t mind paying for extra characters in like say a fighting game since that my favorite genre but, come on really $2.00 to play the game with no ads?
Olympushelix (YT),
Don’t Get This Game! Not Age Appropriate! Good However.
You will notice when you get this game it is 9+ (from the App Store 9+ means cartoon/fantasy violence) but this is more than cartoon violence, this may seem shocking, but there is some mild blood every time you defeat an enemy, the storyline is more than dark for 9 year olds, it’s about rising from a grave to defeat enemies attacking it. This should be age rated AT LEAST 12+ for mild blood. The game is good nevertheless, going back to the 90s to play the nostalgic beat-em-up on a really annoying piece of mechanisms. The shocking age-rating is why the 3-Star rating from me is shown. There’s also some gore! 12-17+ age rating for me. Shocking age rating for sure. Thank you for reading this long piece of writing. SEGA, please change the age rating if you read, I just want kids to be appropriate, please change the age rating, it would make the app much better. Thanks!
Callum192,
A Pleasant Surprise
Altered Beast is one of those games that you remember being terrible from childhood, but when I decided to pick this up on mobile I was pleasantly surprised. The controls are great, the levels have variety, the bosses are simplistic yet satisfying and the presentation is atmospheric. I’m really starting to wonder why so many people overlooked this title as the pack in game for the Genesis before a certain blue hedgehog came along.
Rivcogent,
Latest update ruined sound - Fixed
No sound for the game with latest update.

- Update: I uninstalled the game and reinstalled and the sound was fixed. I'm not sure why the update caused a sound issue, but I'm running the latest iOS release. Luckily, reinstalling the game fixed the issue.
Eight Hours Day,
Game is fun - controls need improvement
This is the old nostalgic 16-bit arcade game of the 90's, and is still fun to play. Game is pretty straight forward, you're a Greek warrior resurrected from the dead to kick and punch the mess out of the zombies / monsters till you reach the stage boss. The biggest complaint I have of this port to iOS is of the virtual game pad and buttons - I've noticed the response is laggy, at best which causes frustration. Otherwise, it fun to play to pass the time.

A Beast of a Title
Altered beast is a blast from the past and amazing to play. 5 levels to progress through with some very cool boss fights at the end of each. Expect nothing less from the late ‘80s era with lots of beat ‘em up action and power ups that transform you into unstoppable raging beast form. Best title played so far.
Flo243567,
Tooooo many Ads!does not let you demo game enough
This is another terrible example of these app companies and this terrible App Store policy. As a consumer I should have a decent amount of time to check these classics for decent game play! But greeed takes hold and ads come a flowing so I was forced to use the connect connect disconnect method! No more ads and this company doesn’t get my money and I can make it a free game! Greed causes corruption. It can cause consumers to steal as well. Too bad really because ads are ok when used appropriately.
Marrz Blak,
Not playable
I guess that’s the idea. They are so aggressive with adds to get you to buy the add free version. All it did was make it impossible for me to play the game with multiple adds interrupting game play. I couldn’t get any continuity in game play because add after ad popped up. Can’t really give you much of a review on game play bugs or anything else. Couldn’t even get that far before getting frustrated and uninstalling.
You may enjoy, I couldn’t take it
alexrodriguez1999box,
Classic that needs a remake
Very simple yet amazing and with todays tech this game would be a massive hit. We all play the games because we want are characters to get stronger as we play the game and this game delivered that early.
