Has always been great.
Hi, I am updating my review. Amaziograph is one of my favorite apps on the iPad! It has always been a five-star app. I have one feature suggestion for the developers to consider. — The templates when choosing your type of tessellation are a little unintuitive. I am talking about the templates such as parallel, kaleidoscope, Mirror, and other iterations. Yes, it is great to have all these options; however, some options are not listed among these suggested layouts, and the wording is confusing and non-visual.
My suggestion is that you have a “custom” option. —Select one of the three base shapes; square, triangle, and hexagon. Once inside the design, choose which edges “Mirror, Reverse, have symmetry, etc.” The benefit is that we begin to understand how we are composing our designs while exploring all the available options. I often have an instinct about which shapes and formats will work with a particular tessellation, but I find myself cycling through the layouts a little blindly. In contrast, when I compose a tessellation by hand, I understand how it works—no reason to be complicated about this.
I would also like to offer my artwork if you need it to promote this app.

Great A+ app, great support
Great App. Nothing else quite like it, great updates. 100% worth the money!! Love it so much. Does soooooo much more than mandalas (which it also does well). Fast, efficient support on facebook. However Amaziograph does not keep your projects in the gallery once you update. iOS will keep your projects in the files app in a folder called Amaziograph and I imagine there may be a way to import them back into Amaziograph from your camera roll (once you get them into your camera roll) if you try but this might not be immediately obvious. I do wish my 120+ projects stayed in Amaziograph but I can’t complain because the app’s staff helped me resolve my issue INSTANTLY via FB messenger AND my projects were not lost (i thought i had lost everything). So only inconvenient but not devastating :) KUDOS to the fast support staff!! I went from crushed to seriously relieved to see my projects saved in the files app in a short few minutes after contacting them. (Thanks guys). Even if you’re just curious, this app is so cheap and worth it, just buy it. :)

App totally LOST three designs I spent hours creating..
Hello, I used to love this app very much but when it completely took away my designs I put it aside. They did not happen in a row but over 2 months. I kept up with updates etc. I did nothing different than usual and poof they were gone. Not in camera roll, iCloud, or anywhere. I was (am) so disappointed as all THREE were masterpieces in my eyes and collectively I worked over 10 hours or more completing the design. Final straw, third design vanishing.
Another issue that is causing me to give up again on this app is the shape recognition tool. It only works WHEN IT WANTS! I can make a circle nothing happens,. No matter what I’m do it only randomly works and when it does it is in a screwed up location I dont want it.
I will be very hard pressed to recommend this app to a friend as I would quickly become an enemy. Hope you guys can fix this. I have reloaded the app after uninstalling still NO HELP.
Black to Procreate and affinity designer which saddens me big time as this app has such promise.
Sincerely, a very frustrated and disappointed user.

Excellent drawing app!
This app can obviously be a lot of fun for people without drawing skills, but it is also powerful enough for artists to use. I do have a few comments for the developers, however:
1. Some people may find the color mixer easy and intuitive to use; but I find it erratic, cumbersome and hard to understand. No matter how many times I try, I cannot get the color mixer to work reliably as shown in the Help animations. The option to switch to a more conventional color mixer would be wonderful!
2. It would be very helpful if the app allowed users to rotate the canvas from landscape to portrait mode, or vice versa, and save the drawing in its rotated form.
3. The app shows the current brush size in erase mode, but not in drawing mode. The brush tool would be much easier to use (especially for touch-up work) if a circular outline of the selected brush size was also visible in drawing mode.
Otherwise, Amaziograph is a great little drawing app. I have enjoyed using it so much that I’m thinking about upgrading my iPad to a model that works with the Apple Pencil.

Amaziograph is fun!
It is also very meditative. The reason I didn't give it five stars is I would like to see a more complete color palette.
Update: Amaziograph responded to my complaint, and pointed out that they have a much more detailed color palette than I was aware of. You can input any RGB color you want and you can cross fade between colors. I should have read the instructions. Great program, I'm still having lots of fun with it. I have a friend that prints out black and white mandalas, and then colors them in by hand.

So fun - still has a few glitches
I have been using this app for years it’s been great for creating repeat patterns. It recently had an update and it’s even better- more colors to add to the palette- for example. Still has a slow response time when drawing. Occasionally the line lags behind the Apple Pencil. I’m not sure if that is an Apple Pencil issue or app issue. Also when enlarging the screen to get in more detail it freezes for a few seconds. Overall I love using this app.

Lacks in features, butttt….
This app alone was one of the few reasons I really wanted an iPad Pro, and it honestly doesn’t disappoint. It does lack in features, so don’t get if you’re wanting some decked out art program and won’t settle for less. Otherwise, get it, have fun, and see where your imagination can take you. Basic enough for non skilled and just enough for skilled artists.

Great mirrored drawing app but lacking some simple features
While this app does a great job of giving you the ability to mirror your drawing by the desired number of sides, and does a good job of it, I’ve been spoiled by a few simple features offered by other drawing apps and it kind of kills my flow in Amaziograph. The developers should strongly consider implementing a double tap on the Apple Pencil in order to switch between pen and eraser, as well as a 2 finger tap on the screen to undo and 3 fingers to redo. This would greatly help the flow of creation.

So much more than a doodle
Amaziograph is great for doodling, but it does so much more. The relaxing, mindfulness that this app invites is, to me, the best feature. By slowing down and concentrating on the lines and colors, I do reach that flow state when time stands still. But for the nights when I should be getting to sleep, using the app to create a less intricate design lets me slow down and close the day off so I can get to sleep.

Please add duplicate layer feature
Loving this app, especially with the addition of layers! Please add the ability to duplicate a layer. I want to make line art in one layer, then duplicate it to color it in (this lets me keep my line art intact beneath in case I want to quickly clear the coloring job and save the line art)
Update: love the new update! Still want the ability to duplicate a layer. Also now I can’t locate the option to deactivate pressure sensitive stroke size, please fix.
