You are Thor and your mission is simple: cleanse Midgard from all of the vile creatures that are threatening the (*ahem*) peaceful Viking way of life.
There are three keys to ensure your success:
1. Your hammer, Mjölnir.
2. Your control of the freakin' thunder and lightning.
3. Your fighting spirit is always high thanks to AMON AMARTH's epic music in retro style blasting from over the horizons and into your ears.
* Four unique worlds.
* Four unique boss battles.
* 12 unique levels.
* 13 different AMON AMARTH tracks made with retro video game sounds.
Grab Mjölnir. Blast Amon Amarth. Save Midgard.

First of i would like to say yes the game is $9. Have you ever heard the term “no such thing as a free lunch”? Either you pay up front or you pay in annoying advertisements in game. They make these games to make money. Personally I approve paying for an ad free game, and i like that they give you the first level free so you get a taste and come back for more.
Also 8bit style Amon Amarth music is awesome!
haterz6969,
Worth the purchase after first level.
This game is great and so is the other version for 2.99. This one becomes 8.99 for the rest of the game. I bought it and I’ll tell you this to clear the air and hopefully increase sales cuz the band is amazing. The free version you play when you download people complain it is cluncky and almost a demo, well I wasn’t bad for me but the moment I bought the game to continue it immediately improved the game performance. It’s worth it the worlds are fun and the music is awesome and retro! ⚔️🤘🏼🐺🤘🏼⚔️
Typotech,
Not Free, Controls Clunky
Just picked this up today and was surprised that after finishing the first/tutorial level, all others are locked behind a paywall. This would be fine but there’s no indication until you complete that level. Seems like it’d make more sense to at least have the first world open instead of a single level.
Otherwise it’s a fun enough retro game and the music is awesome. The design seems to try and pack in a lot into the scene so some things are not as defined. I know, it’s 8-bit.
The controls are simple and sometimes it’s a bit clunky in the double jump and pressing on the screen switches from left to right. That can cause some issues when your thumb slips.
If you’re a fan of Amon Amarth, this may be the game for you. Otherwise, there’s plenty of other 8-bit scrollers to try out.
schnei89,
Great fun
Amon Amarth is a band from Sweden and they’ve released their own video game for mobile devices. All the music is their own but in 8-bit format. Gameplay is very simplistic in nature but the level design is very challenging. They’ve really worked on the jumping sensitivity along with the weapon button. The first level is free and the whole game is $8(?). It’s a lot of fun, I’d definitely recommend it
Qsfghytuurgvf,
Worth the $ but not amazing
If you love Amon Amarth (as i do) then by all means, get the game. But while the graphics and sound are cool in a retro/throwback sense, the game play is VERY counter-intuitive, lots of switching directions and dying a lot. Double jump feature is flawed, kinda "works when it wants" and you absutely NEED it to work to pass levels... Or you are constantly dying and having to restart at beginning of level. Game could be more fun and less frustrating...
Blocksystem,
Glorious
This is one of few phone appd that I genuinely enjoy.
You play as Thor in a mario-style platformer, destroying your enemies with Mjölnir and facing Norse Mythology-inspired bosses.
The latter 3 worlds are locked behind paywall but it's well worth the pay. And the 8-bit Amon Amarth themes are amazing!
Deserves at least a try, and I say buying the full version is worth the price.
Deadwing II,
It’s good but...
I think this I good game to pass the time, however there are some issues. The first one is that the music does not play or any kind of sound doesn’t come out. The second is that the double jump doesn’t alway work. Third, the jump distance should be increased a little bit between jumps. Fourthly, event do some of the jumps were successful the ground didn’t pick up on the landing leaving.
Lukie dukie is metal,
Great Game
Really fun game for anyone who likes Norse themed stuff or is just a rabid Amon Amarth (fan like myself). It is a bit overly priced for the amount of levels. The control are odd but after practice you get used to them. The biggest thing is more levels ought to be added, such as with Jormungandr or other beasts.
Risk75,
8 bit metal!
Sure, it takes a bit to get use to the basic control mechanics. Once you do, the simplicity of the game, the beauty of the throw back graphics, and the 8 bit metal cheering you on will continue to bring you back to this game.
K.B.T.,
Unintuitive Controls
Biggest problem with the game is 1-touch direction controls. This leads to the game being overly difficult; not because the enemies are tough or the platforming tricky, but because the direction controls are poorly executed. If they create an update with the option to change the controls—maybe to NES style—then I could justify purchasing the game. As of right now, however, I’ll be uninstalling it.
