!! Rock On !!

Although I haven't played the game yet, I just want to show my support. Hard Rock and Metal is not dead !!!! The 2020s aren't a brilliant time to be a hard rock fan, although Dirsturbed (Down With the Sickness) can still fill stadiums ! The other godfather of hard rock, Dio's was lifted up a lot with Jack Black's Tenacious D and Brutal Legend games. I really am happy the band is still around to see this game come to life. And I am equally excited to see this released on mobile, as mobile gamers didn't get Brutal Legend. Just the fact I have heard an amazing catalog of Iron Maiden's songs play in game is a big seller for me. Remember when music used to be a big part of the gaming experience ? It was a main reason I played Guitar Hero. Some reviews say this game is expensive to maintain, and online RPGs normally require a big time, and skill investment, so I'm a little apprehensive to start. ~ Emily Apricot ~

amazing, but turning extremely difficult

i have to give solid props to the game developers because the graphics are STUNNING! also, the story is incredibly interesting! i am starting to get disheartened by gameplay, however, because even though it’s a strategy game, some of the character’s moves are EXTREMELY complex. some characters have more than 3 passives enabled when originally, basic characters had one passive, and the complex characters had up to three. also, some of the Talismans that you equip sometimes have more than 3 side effects. i’ve seen one with 6 side effects. it’s too complex. also, since i play on my iPhone, i have altogether given up on reading some of the effects since the print is tiny. even through gameplay, however, i can never fully tell what the effects are because there are so many. also, in some of the recent Senjutsu-themed battlegrounds, i can’t fully comprehend what the characters are saying. it’s almost like they’re speaking an ancient form of the english language. i am a simpleton, somewhat, so i find this language very alienating. other than that, i love the game. or at least how it was.

Alright then so

I would give this 4.5 stars but Apple only lets ya do full stars so yeah now I’ve been here playing this game since the beginning (July of 2016) now by the time I got to the last world (4th one at the time) all the bugs and most things were fleshed out but that doesn’t mean it always is now the game ran smoothly but now almost every month a couple of big updates come and it’s possible that you may be locked out of the game for the rest of the day (possibly a couple of days) now this’ll all be fine and dandy but each time the update comes out there’s a good chance that the servers will be jumbled so you can’t really play when this happens (I can’t really fault navigator games the people behind it) but if your patient you’ll be fine this is the reason why it’s not a full 5 mostly now if your a newcomer reading some reviews for the game take what ya will from this but just be prepared to grind for shards and runes it ain’t easy but you’ll get to it

Very Fun But a Few Issues

I’ve had this game for about a week now and for the most part I’ve enjoyed it. The gameplay is fun and require timing and precision. I love hearing all Iron Maiden’s music while I’m playing the game. I also like all the charters. Progression is fairly fast (or it was for me) I already have 2 4 star allies and a 3 star Eddie. I have a couple of issues with the game though. One being that it cost gold to open up souls. It seems odd that I would by a soul or earn a soul but I still need to pay gold to open that soul. Like, I’ve collected 4 rare souls but I can’t open them because I don’t have the gold. I think if you earn it you should be able to open it. My other issue is that some of the levels are rather easy. I haven’t had a level I have really gotten stuck on yet. I have mostly breezed through most of what I’ve played. But overall so would recommend this game go Maiden fans and bin Maiden fans alike.

Best App Game; I’m Obsessed

First off, I’m a HUGE Iron Maiden fan. So, of course, I was stoked when the band advertised Legacy of the Beast just before their concert when touring the U.S. I downloaded it immediately, at the venue, last summer. And I have been hooked ever since. This is my favorite form of RPG, you never need to pay to play. The characters, various levels, and events are carefully crafted so that users can play endlessly without getting bored- even after “beating” the game. The developers are awesome about fixing bugs and releasing new updates and content. The game takes up a chunk of storage, but it’s worth it unless you’re still stuck with a dinosaur phone. I think it’s a blast for anyone, even if they’re somehow not Iron Maiden fans. It’s 100% the best game the App Store has ever seen, and it’s free. Recommend, recommend, recommend. Download and have fun!!

This one took me by Surprise!!!

Several years ago one of my coworkers talked me into trying LOTB and when I finally installed it and started playing I was blown away. Loads of content new raid features and such a huge cast of characters.!!! While I have made a few purchases this is totally a worthwhile game to play totally free. And our new raid battle is ODIN!! How awesome is it to battle Odin? You can get and fight against anything from Gods, Demons,Angels, Samurai,Ghosts and more . The Tiny Tim Christmas event was extremely fun. They did have a bug in the Odin battle and covid 19 server instability when people first started self isolation but they fixed these issues and handsomely compensated all the players. They really showed how much they care about the fans. So if you want to try a new game that is a lot of fun then look no farther.

Not Enough of Your Money, but....

Even if you are throwing $50 a month at this company, it won’t be enough. It used to be a fair game. You play and put the time in, donate to the cause now and then, you’ll keep up with the current meta. Not anymore. They are literally stripping all materials from being earnable through play time, to strictly purchases, from event to event or you’ll fall severely behind. Often disappointed in all the time and money I invested in this game. Love Maiden, always will.

Edit: In all fairness, the game is actually great. As a fan, the artwork is the best thing about the game. The gameplay is decent and I love having the daily quests to run. I’m sticking to my original post though, because it’s true. And because of this it’s the reason I no longer spend as much on it. Already falling behind on the newer characters, and that just makes me care a little less each day.

Great game, but…

Loving the game so far. I love these kinds of games, plus it’s cool that it’s based around a band’s mascot and brings in others (The Guy is what got me into it, hoping for a Knucklehead collab soon). But my problem is the logging in system. I’ll click on “Sign in with Apple” and it tells me to refresh the game. I do that, then it says it’s connecting my account, but the confirmation that I need to press to get into the game never pops up. The screen goes pretty dark, but the button I’m supposed to press at the bottom never shows up. I’ll click once on the screen and the button shows itself for a second and the game kicks me out again to try to make me start over again. I read some other reviews and saw I’m not the only one. Hopefully this gets sorted out soon.

Racket

I have been playing this game for years now and have been a maiden fan since ‘81. That being said this game is glitchy and it’s setup so characters who are less powerful can easily beat the majority of consumers played characters. It’s also a money dump because of this and I watched my son who plays as well rack up over $70 in charges trying to beat a computer character that was clearly less capable than the characters being played with. I recommend this game only on nostalgia other than that do yourself a favor and go support the band by buying an album but not supporting these clowns who couldn’t program their way out of a mouse trap. Finally the support staff for the game a very rude and unhelpful with issues in the game and are slow to fix known issues. We play this game now but would never make another in app purchase, what a absolute joke. I wish Iron Maiden would read this and make these clowns treat their hard working fans better.

Repetitive, tedious and unrewarding.

A glorified grinding game that has the most tedious of challenges with unbalanced (and sometimes seemingly unattainable) rewards. The only fun thing about this game is that it’s Iron Maiden themed with decent artwork. The battle mechanics feel unpolished and broken at times (it will crash or get stuck, forcing a restart). It has tons of cloned characters in an otherwise already data heavy game. The in-game store’s unnecessary amount of items (mostly useless, far from obtainable or overpriced) makes picking things out a chore, full of endless scrolling with a confusing mix of currencies (which you have to hunt around to find the actual amount you currently obtained). You get to collect Eddies and neat Maiden themed characters though, plus the music is a great. The Iron Maiden fan in me is the only thing that keeps me playing this, sadly.
