- Critical bug fix for users on iOS 14.2 where the APOD description does not display.
- The date picker has been rebuilt. Tap the date (now located under the title) when viewing an APOD to access an old fashioned wheel-style date picker.
- One more thing: APOD sharing! Tap the share button to share the image and a direct url to the APOD.

Another quick bug fix to ensure your widget won't be blank when the APOD is a video. (AVOD?)
Nothing fancy, but your widget will show the thumbnail and if you tap the image in the app it will open the video in your browser.
Video's will get more love in the near future.

I cannot express how much this app means to me
It is so important to me to be able to view the beauty of the stars, the wonder of space. It improves my days exponentially. Even viewing them on a little app enables me to imagine the vastness and variety of the universe. Our tools continue to improve— the Hubble, now the JWST— no one knows what science may offer next to see, perceive, understand and experience the stars. At my current age, I probably won’t see the next iteration, but I plan to live as long as I can to see what’s next in science, especially astrophysics. Thank you for APOD.

This is my favorite app.
The JWT has finally refined what the Hubble started, bringing the natural world into our computers and phones for all of us to see. I can rest knowing that we have finally been given a tool that is as much about art as it is about science. By refining our window on the cosmos, NASA has given humanity a view beyond compare.

The app offers 9 different widget options which I haven’t seen in any other app. NASA also offers to show pictures as a widget but only the small or large. It’s nice you can do a medium widget with this app. You can also chose specific pictures to slide through. Love it!

Simple and Beautiful
I discovered this on Reddit and was exactly what I needed. I typically use grayscale or dark wallpapers so the icons pop a bit and this widget adds a beautiful splash of color to that. And for me, it’s just that - I get to see a new, interesting picture each day on my Home Screen. Love it.

Be warned
I love the idea of this app but it has a fatal bug. It heats up my phone like crazy. I downloaded on my iPhone 11 Pro and lost 5% battery health in 1 week. I deleted it and my battery health stopped declining. I thought I’d give it another shot this week on my new iPhone 12 pro and within minutes of downloading the app and setting up a widget my phone started overheating... when the screen was off. Please fix this fault.

Love This App, but it needs an update
Wonderful App! Fantastic Images and short articles adopt each photo. A nice surprise each day.
However, right now the articles are not showing up since updating my phone to IOS 14.2. I’m sure you can fix this. Thanks in advance!

Happy to buy a cup of coffee if…
APOD automatically updates everyday. Mine doesn’t. And if every image came with an annotated description. Today’s doesn’t. I very much enjoy APOD; I would enjoy it more if it consistently worked instead of being plagued with appeals.
