Pretty straight to the point and simple but still a great experience. If you just got a new Google Cardboard headset or you wanna show phone VR to your friends, this app is it. It’s also pretty calming, and unless you don’t have a strap it’s pretty nice to meditate surrounded by fish, sharks and sea turtles.
My only real issue is the fact that looking at fish doesn’t tell you more about them. Sometimes it’ll say the name of the sea creature but that’s just about it. Doesn’t bother me tho, but if you wanna use this app to maybe teach a little kid about fish, it’s not ideal. I’d say something about the quality, but it’s a bit stupid considering It’s just a phone and it would be madness trying to smoothly render a full VR seascape with such a little computer.
I’m no developer, but I think this game could be improved a few ways. A menu would be nice, to give players some time to set up their headset. I think you should also be able to use the menu in VR mode, so it’s easier for players to navigate between different seascapes, which brings me to my next point, MORE FISH! The way you’ve done it is pretty simple, just a 360 photograph of the ocean and some 3D fish on a swimming loop. This works pretty well, but longer loops, fish that are a little farther away (which would be no problem because they don’t have to be very high quality if you aren’t close) and a few different seascapes.
This game otherwise is practically perfect, but there’s always room for improvement. Five stars (:
