Description

Asthma Tracker 3 supports you in keeping your asthma diary up-to-date by making it easy to track your peak flow values, your asthma medication intake and your asthma related symptoms. In addition, you can add contextual information to each entry by either associating it with a pre-defined event (such as a doctor’s appointment) or with individual notes.

With the built-in reminder, you can set Asthma Tracker to remind you to take your daily base medication, to measure your peak flow and to record your symptoms. At the end of each month, it will also prompt you to complete the widely-known Asthma Control Test™ whose intent is to give you a rough idea as to how well controlled your asthma is.

The aggregated information in Asthma Tracker's chronological overview leverages the Health app to let you quickly asses how your asthma is progressing. Asthma Tracker stores and displays peak flow values stored in the Health app as well as puffs and symptoms alongside your daily step count. This way you can easily see how your daily activity influences your asthma and related symptoms.

Select individual days to get a more detailed view of each entry (peak flow, puffs or symptoms) on that particular day as well as the recorded step counts on that day.

Share your recorded asthma entries with your doctor during an appointment or take an in-depth look at it yourself on your desktop or other device with a bigger screen using the built-in integration with datalinker.io, our fully end-to-end encrypted solution for secure data transmission. Just visit web.datalinker.io, scan the QR code with Asthma Tracker and your entries are encrypted on your iPhone and copied securely to datalinker for temporal storage. From there you can show it to your doctor, print or save it to PDF.

Asthma Tracker 3 (a.k.a. ‘The Big Update’) brings a lot of improvements in terms of user experience and daily usefulness for asthma patients based on direct feedback we got from you – our faithful users.

The Highlights:
• Better UI: We streamlined the user interface to make it more intuitive for first-time users and to make it more useful to experienced users.
• Secure & fast sharing: We replaced the old-school PDF export with datalinker.io, our very own, fully end-to-end encrypted secure data transfer service. Now you can take a detailed look at your asthma data or show it to others by simply scanning a QR code in your web browser (internet connection required).
• Modify entries: Modify PEF, puffs and symptoms without any restrictions.
• Entries for past dates: Choose for which date you want to add entries for PEF, puffs and symptoms. This way you can add asthma data from your paper
• Take Notes: Add notes to give your and your doctor more context information when looking at certain entries or assessing how your asthma is progressing. Choose between a set of pre-defined notes or free-text entry.
• Multiple medications: Choose for which medication you want to track a puff by selecting the right one from a list when adding a new entry.

What's new in Asthma Tracker 2? Short answer: a lot of things compared to the previous version!

Long and detailed answer:
- New colors and icons: Refined color palette in overview for your viewing pleasure as well as to make it more readable than before.

- New swipe menu: Rejoice! Pressing the menu button in the upper right corner now opens a menu. In fact, you don't even need to press the button at all. Swiping from the right screen edge towards the middle opens it as well, making it much more easier to use Asthma Tracker on larger phones (6 Plus and 6s Plus) as well as when you're on the go. The completely new menu allows you easy access to all major functions and settings inside Asthma Tracker.

- Redesigned entry screens for peak flow values, puffs and symptoms: While the old entry screens certainly did their job well enough they were mostly just plain boring input fields and by virtue of that not very user friendly. The new entry screens are much more suited to their function and now have the 'Save' and 'Abort' buttons at the bottom, making them easier to reach than before. Especially when you're using Asthma Tracker on one of the larger iPhones.

- NEW - Multiple reminders: This version of Asthma Tracker introduces a completely revamped reminder function, allowing you to set multiple reminders per day for measuring your peak flow, taking your medication or entering your symptoms. We designed them so that you can easily see which reminders are currently active and so that you can quickly enable/disable or edit individual reminders.

- NEW - Asthma Tracker goes Apple Health: We've integrated Asthma Tracker 2 with Apple Health. This has the following advantages for our users:
1) Asthma Tracker can now import peak flow values created by other apps or smart peak flow meters which work with Apple Health and iOS.
2) Peak flow values entered into Asthma Tracker are stored inside Apple Health thereby giving you full control over your data. You can keep your peak flow data no matter what happens to Asthma Tracker on your iPhone or iPod touch. Further you can regulate read/write permissions to your peak flow data inside Apple Health for each app requesting access to it.

- NEW - Activity powered by Apple Health: Entering and managing your entries for activities was a tedious and boring activity itself. Not to mention that the slider for the setting of the intensity associated with a specific activity didn't allow for entry of gradual values. So, since we've already done all the work necessary for integrating Asthma Tracker 2 with Apple Health we've decided to make use of it to relieve you of this task. New, Asthma Tracker reads the number of steps recorded in Apple Health by the built-in step counter or other apps/smart devices writing steps directly into Apple Health to assess your level of activity during the day.

- NEW - Privacy policy: Check out our new privacy policy detailing how Asthma Tracker handles your data.

- NEW - Contact us: Do you have a question? Do you want to request functionality XYZ for the next version of Asthma Tracker? Use the 'Contact us' button and write us directly. Reviews in the App Store are still welcome though. ;)

- BUGFIX - Export: Fixed a bug which could lead to the app crashing on certain devices when using the export functionality.

DesertHorses,
Will go op to 4.5 with SaO2 add d
I’ve been looking for a quick way to track my rescue inhaler usage and have it transfer to the Health app. Please add a quick click for O2 level to make this app almost perfect for me.
Jorden Bradley,
Best Asthma Tracking App
This is the best Asthma tracker I have found in the App Store. It has the best looking interface and is very simple and easy to use. Data (peak flow, inhaler usage, and symptoms) can easily and quickly be entered.

My two requests... the app does pass peak flow data into the Apple Health App but does not pass inhaler usage. I can't decide if I want to continue using the application for this reason so please add the feature.

Secondly, I would like to see a widget for rapid entry of data, particularly inhaler usage. Symptoms would be a plus to. It would also be nice to have an AppleWatch app for adding data although that would be my least priority and not a big deal.
Dlfinmi,
Great app for asthma tracking
I recently started using a peak flow meter and this app is exactly what I needed to track the readings. As a bonus, i can also set reminders to use the pfm and take my asthma meds regularly. It’s also very easy to use.

Good but ….
The app is great however they are removing the control test feature.
Dajavu37,
Where are my notes?
I downloaded this yesterday and put a note under “other note”. I can’t find or see the note anywhere.
adhodges4,
Good to start but crashing constantly
This app was really great when I first downloaded it (less than 1 month ago), but now it’s crashing every time I try to log any information. Not helpful.
royar,
Latest update for iOS 14 broke the app
I have been using this app fine for a few years. The update from 09 November 2020 does not work on my iPhone 11. I would rate it higher otherwise.
The Space Panda,
Can’t launch app
Just downloaded this app to track my asthma and I am unable to get past the intro pages without the app freezing and then crashing. Please update so I can use the app
MDCS,
Won’t start
Cannot get past the permissions screen. Gets stuck on the “participate in study” screen and won’t go any further. The app sounds great, just can’t use it!

0/5 you have to allow full access to your Health app. No thanks. I don’t want tracked.
