Description

Managing your asthma or COPD can be challenging. Propeller is here to help you take charge of your breathing, so you can get back to doing the things you love.

Propeller is a digital health program that has been used by over 140,000 people worldwide. Research shows that people who use Propeller have more days without symptoms[1] and fewer trips to the hospital or emergency room.[2,3]

The Propeller app can help you:

Never forget a dose: Stay on track with your medications and treatment plan.
Learn about your breathing: Discover what triggers your asthma or COPD so you can plan for the day ahead.
Partner with your doctor: Reports help you stay connected to your doctor between visits.[4]
Feel supported: Personalized support helps you take control of your breathing.
View all your health data in one place: Propeller can use HealthKit to export your inhaler usage data into the Health app and to read activity data.

When you connect your Propeller sensor to the mobile app:

Your sensor can automatically track when you use your inhaler and send that data to the app to help you learn about your breathing.
The app can include this information in reports, which can be shared with your doctor.
Your doctor can monitor your progress, personalize your treatment plan and provide support every step of the way.

Must download for asthma
Hi all! I was diagnosed with asthma since I was a toddler. I’ve struggled all my life to monitor, control, find triggers, etc. I’ve used inhalers all my life nearly everyday. Although my asthma has improved significantly, I still find this app and inhaler device to be extremely helpful. I love that I can keep track of my symptoms and triggers. I not only get a weekly report but I can always be informed when seeing a doctor. This is very important because I am sure just like many others who suffer from asthma, we are not 100% sure how we are actually doing. Additionally, the best part (for me at least lol) is that I can beep for my inhalers because of the device. I cannot count how many times I’ve misplaced my inhalers and also needing to use them in that exact moment. This service is wonderful and has brought me to tears because there are people out there making such beautiful technology for those in need. Thank you to everyone at Propeller!
EricaCane,
Wow, this has been a lifesaver product!
I never write reviews, but this app was SO GOOD I had to share my experience with everyone. This is a super sleek, well-executed health tracker to help people with asthma. I was recently diagnosed with asthma about a week ago. I struggled with the symptoms for multiple years. I finally got the correct diagnosis but I never could pinpoint what was causing the issues. While looking for air quality apps, I saw this app and thought I would give it a try. I saw I could get a free tracker to go with my rescue inhaler. It was super quick shipping and FREE 🥳 I’ve used it with the app over the past week and within a few days I had tons of data on symptoms and usage— I finally now know my triggers. As an Engineer, I was happy to see this app does *truly does* trending and analysis. You can access cool reports on usage and reliable forecasts. App Devs, you’re really contributing to making lives of people better. ❤️ Thank you and well done.
Hamburger27894,
The app, the idea, and execution, are FLAWLESS.
First and foremost, I truly believe Propeller was sent from above. I recently had my life-long father figure pass away due to uncontrolled COPD. I feel like this app was advertised to me on Instagram for a reason.
I scrolled by the ad ,and immediately went back to it. I checked it out, and saw that I might be eligible for free sensors... which I was.

At this point I had no idea what it was. I saw the app had about 14 reviews though, which I thought was a sign of an unfortunate launch. Man was I wrong. Right off the bat I was blown away by the app’s functionality and how polished it was. It’s feature complete. It’s smooth. It gives important insight.

For those of us who are bound to corticosteroids for the rest of our lives, Propeller is a godsend. I can’t say it enough. The sensors have alarms and remind you daily when to use your maintenance inhalers. You get a notification on your phone as well. I can barely

I can’t say it enough. This app and the inhaler sensors have my asthma under control better than ever.

Imagine that there are millions of apps out there that have no purpose besides collecting money through micro transactions and advertisement.

PROPELLER CAN SAVE LIVES.

Thank you so much. If you guys need a testimony for a commercial, I’m your guy.
Sammi-Rhea,
Almost amazing
I downloaded this after my son was diagnosed with asthma. I had absolutely no idea what I was doing, and this ended up being a great resource to help his dad and I keep track of his inhalers, and help us communicate better with his doctors. There are only two things that I think could be improved:
1) I have never been able to complete the ACT. Every time I finish it, it just gives me the spinning loading symbol. If I try going to another screen and going back, it tells me to hit continue to finish, but still just gives me the loading symbol.
2) I wish you could differentiate between morning and even doses. Right now my son is doing two puffs at night and one in the morning. Unfortunately it only gives the option for the same dose at different times of day.
If these two issues were fixed, I wouldn’t have a single complaint, I absolutely love this app, it makes life so much easier.
Thank you!!!

Very helpful
I'm 24 and have suffered with severe Asthma over half my life. After being hospitalized from it my doctors have made me keep a detailed list of everything Propeller already keeps track of. I no longer need 3-4 apps to know what my doctors want to know. I no longer waste hours looking up and tracking everything. It's so simple. I use my inhaler and it's already recorded. It's taken a lot of stress and inconvenience out of my life. I've even noticed a trigger that I never realized before. Every few days I might have to reconnect the sensor with my phone, which is just opening the app and pushing a button, it takes less than 10 seconds. I highly recommend this service to anyone that has Asthma.
JacobHuggins,
Great for tracking doses, but not with air quality accuracy…
I thought the point of tracking was to try to figure out what’s causing the need for inhalers with asthma and whatnot. Yes, it’s great to be able to check in the app to see the last time I used my inhaler. BUT a major flaw… if it’s being used for studies to see what might be causing issues locally or whatnot, I’d think the Air Quality portion when a dose is taken would be a high priority. I’m not sure why it says the air quality is good where I’m at. Yes, my AQI is good at 43, BUT… local dust levels are purple… Listed as Very high with WebMD allergy and Extreme with AccuWeather. I’m very very sensitive to these levels. The purpose of Propeller just doesn’t seem like it’s doing any justice in the research department if Air Quality is listed as excellent at the time I take a dose, when in fact the dust levels are off the charts.

Please fix it! Definitely a huge flaw in the purpose and use of Propeller!

Great data on rescue inhaler
I’ve had the propeller device on my rescue inhaler for a few weeks now, and I’ve been really impressed with it. Every time I use it, it records the information in the app. The app itself, syncs with Apple Health Kit on my phone.

In the past, every time I used the inhaler, I had to remember to record it in the Health Kit for my asthma specialist so I could give her the data. Now, propeller does that for me AND it provides a method for me to input what I suspect is/are the trigger(s) causing my coughing and having to use the inhaler. And, a great plus, is that the app also provides a report for the specialist.

Best app I’ve downloaded in a long time.

Not “selling” or accepting mew users
I downloaded the app because I simply wanted to track my inhaler usage. I was happy to just enter the information via the app, but was intrigued when I found out they made a sensor for certain inhalers. Regardless even though you download the app, it’s completely non-functional because you can’t get past registration. This is completely a bait and switch, you cannot even register if you just have asthma because they’re not excepting new people. This is borderline against the Apple‘s policy of record having a non-functioning app and not disclosing. If you answered you had COPD you could complete the wizard, but only if you would pay 7999 to buy a sensor from Walgreens, that won’t even fit a pro air rescue inhaler. Well they may be good if you meet certain criteria, the apps description is misleading and it’s non-functional for me. One star was generous

Needs a few tweaks.
So far, this is mostly working. The prevention med reminders are nice, and it syncs great. But it’s lowering my score for “nighttime events.” In reality, I’m a night shift worker, so, no, I’m not waking up with symptoms, I’m already awake at 3AM. If I used it at noon, that would be waking up with symptoms. So, it would be great to be able to set a schedule to let it know when I’m typically awake.

It would also be nice to have it disregard scheduled inhalations. My pulmonologist recommends taking a dose of my rescue inhaler immediately before a hard workout, and those are keeping me just out of having a “well-controlled” score.

The data is still useful to my doctor, who does know my schedule, and my exercise usage, but it would be fun to see the score reflect reality.
KitsaKat,
Helpful, yet...
With my tendency to have things fall from my pockets, or set things down and forget about it I am glad to be able to find my rescue inhaler a lot easier with the app. Sadly, I wish there was a sensor for my controller inhaler, Alvesco. I’m not the best at remembering to take my medicine Dailey so this is the one I could definitely use the sensor to alert me with a reminder. Even better Apple Watch integration would be even more help for reminders. I don’t always have my phone with me for reminders but I almost always have my watch on. However, having the app has made me more mindful about keeping my asthma controlled. Thank you for that.
