Nice though not really an ATC simulation
An interesting game though not more of a simulation as I thought it would be. I agree on some of the lost planes aspect of control. When I move the line, especially to "B", the plane moves though often it flys past or becomes lost. This is even after you hear the tone of the destination and the area being lighted. Dunno, maybe its me though I've tried it alot. The other thing is the weather. Trying to see through snow and clouds makes for a dismal ATC session. You almost need a magnifying glass to even pick up on where things are. Well, for only $0.99 its better than droppng coins into a pinball machine. Certainly one must give alot of praise to the progrmming. This has an excellent GUI, sound and it is more professional looking than many other appilcations.

Doesn’t work on iPhone 7plus
I used to love this game but it hasn’t worked on the last few updates to iOS.
Don’t bother with this.
Just an addendum: I wrote my original review in January, 2018. It took the developers more than 20 months to respond.
So, it works now on an Xs. Barely. The game is so out-of-date, with graphics that LOOK the full 15 years old that they are. It’s a 15 year old game that was once fun. There are much better games out there now.

almost a five star app...
Definitely agree with most other reviewers that ATC is awesome. Very addicting and fun, and definitely worth the .99 price. Only cons are as others have said the precision required to hit the runway; need immediate feedback the the plane will land. Clear to land verbal authentication would be great. It is not so hard on lower levels but as you move up, getting that plane in on the first try is essential. I have experimented with this and there is a lack of consistent response from the application in this area. As long as your waypoint or path is relatively close to the runway you should be given the benefit of the doubt becuase the screen is so small. Also the snow screens are almost impossible as the planes are the same color. That seems unecessarily challenging. Also maybe a verbal cue when selecting a plane as to it's destination...I have a hard time reading the L1 and L2 sometimes. So if you touch a plane it would state the destination zone. But overall an awesome app!!

Good game
I like the game because it's obvious a lot of work has gone into it: the city beneath, with its moving cars, the weather effects, etc. I would ask that some improvement be made when it comes to directing the aircraft. For one thing, it'd be nice if one could merely touch and drag on a plane to control it, rather than touch to select and then swipe. I've lost control of numerous planes because I ended up not selecting first. Another big improvement concerns the L1 and L2 runways. Perhaps my fingers are too fat, but it's quite difficult to make the planes line up for a landing. The drawing response just doesn't want to produce the line I specify, most of the time, so I get planes that should clear, but fly past the runway instead.

I on the other hand feel that this is an excellent game - especially for the people who like organization type games where you have to micro manage objects. I rated this as 4 stars in itunes because the graphics are unique and the game play is addictive. There is another application called Flight Control which is the same concept as this game - but that game has its perks just as this one does. I havent had the chance to experience some of the natural disasters but the game has never crashed on me and game play is exactly as advertised. Nice application and I look forward to what future updates you might conjure. Thanks again, keep up the good work.

Not as fun as you might think
This game is fun at first, but quickly becomes impossible when there are a lot of planes on the screen...its designed so you have to first touch the plane you want to land, then touch one or two "waypoints" that the plane goes to, rather than just tracing a pathway with your finger. Its annoying because if you accidentally tap the wrong point or tap the wrong plane, it messes up all the points. Plus, maybe I'm just not good at it, but I cannot get through level five, simply because in the "cloudy" conditions I can't see the planes coming in fast enough. Its a good theory but it will never be as fun as the other air traffic controller app, because its complicated and aggravating. Maybe I'm just not very good at these games, its also a possibility...

Wow - I love playing this game - WARNING - TETRIS EFFECT!
This game has given me hour of enjoyment over last month. I play in my free time and fill in small gaps of time. It seems to be good mental exercise. I like the way I can try to make the high scoreboard competing against all the others playing.
WARNING - It does give me TETRIS EFFECT! If you have never heard of that I am sure you have had it before. After you play it for about 30 minutes you can close your eyes and still keep playing. I can't get it out of mind. I now can't play it before I go to sleep or I drive myself CRAZY! The planes keep coming!

Big fan of these games!
I purchased iATC with high hopes as I love ATC games but it was horrible. So downloading ATC 4.0 I was very cautious. But from the moment I saw the menu and played the game it was great! The graphics for everything except the planes (ironically) are great, there's even cars below. The controls work fine, there's really nothing bad about the game. I just have a few suggestions, however.
1. Polish visuals, make them even better.
2. A wide variety of maps with more/different exit points/airports would be awesome.
3. Nighttime should be harder and unique, maybe give the planes little lights as only indication of location.
4. Make landing easier. Right now a plane needs to be nearly perfectly aligned.
5. Give warning where/when planes will appear to help avoid collisions
6. Animate turns
7. Limit how sharply a turn from point to point can be made
This is a great game, my suggestions are just nitpicks.

Challenging and fun
I am enjoying this game quite a bit. It starts slow enough to get used to the controls and then it starts getting a lot more challenging. Great job!
After Update 1.4 : The game is a lot more playable now, I used to get stuck atempting to micro-manage the original waypoints, but the new path system is perfect for the small screen. I really enjoy the graphics in this game, especially the night-time graphics with the tiny cars and all...

Addicting! Can't put it down.
I tried the Lite version and immediately bought the full ver. Great way to pass the time! Even if you know what you're doing, it's pretty challenging. Nice effects and graphics, especially when planes crash. Have seen Flight Control app and this one's much better. I haven't been able to put it down... got to one level that's almost impossible... This app isn't for those who want stress relief!
