Also known as Navy SEAL or tactical breathing, this is a surprisingly simple and effective way to help regain calm and control of your thoughts when under stress. Inhale for 4, hold for 4, exhale for 4, hold for 4. All through your nose.

Relaxing Breathing (4-7-8)
Have trouble falling asleep? Try this 4-7-8 technique. Inhale for 4 through your nose, hold for 7, exhale for 8 out of your mouth.

Equal Breathing (4-4)
A pranayama practice called Sama Vritti, this breath can help take your mind off the racing thoughts or whatever might be distracting you. Inhale for 4, exhale for 4. All through your nose. (Try a 6 or 8 count, once you feel comfortable.)

Measured Breathing (4-1-7)
A handy stress-reducing practice that can be done anywhere, anytime. Inhale for 4, hold for 1, exhale for 7. All through your nose.

Triangle Breathing (4-4-4)
Another great technique that can help alleviate anxiety or stress. Imagine a triangle with equal sides. Inhale for 4, exhale for 4, pause for 4. Repeat.

Simple and exactly what I needed
Breath work really helps me to manage my anxiety. I have been using the breathing exercise that comes in a meditation app (Sanvello is great) for the past 3 years. Over time I found myself scrolling through all of the various features and exercises that Ive stopped using regularly just to get to breathing exercise, which got annoying and deterred me from opening the app. Love that I can just open this app right up and get started with breath work. I like the audio options, especially the starting and stopping bell sound. One thing I truly miss about Sanvello and haven’t found in another app yet is having a audio sound of someone breathing deeply (with adjustable pacing) than I can listen to and follow along with. It was great and truly calming! Please please consider adding this to the app, it would make the app a 12/10! ☺️

I love this app!
It is indeed simple, and the ability to ‘tune’ the intervals to 10ths of a second is very helpful. I’m spoiled by the variety of sounds (Tibetan bowls, etc.) available on other apps, but they tend to be set up for timing sessions, not breaths.
I just discovered, quite by accident, that I can play music in the background on my iphone and run the app at the same time. I can hear it more clearly on extension speaker than on the phone by itself. The possibilities of breathing/meditating with chant in the background opens up a wide range of possibilities.

Simple and Extremely Effective!
I have been using this app for a little over a week now and have found it to be very helpful! Breathing techniques can be so helpful when one is experiencing anxiety, having trouble sleeping, has racing thoughts, or is just feeling stressed. Keep in mind that you want to breath from your stomach and not your chest to send signals to your nervous system to calm down. When having an anxiety/panic attack, you can also pair these breathing techniques with clenching your fists to stop you from passing out!

Almost perfect
I love the simplicity of the app. The visual is nice except for the second accent color - unnecessary, would love if it were eliminated. Also would prefer to be able to have color options. Honestly grey is best or a muted color in my option, the current electric colors are too stimulating. Options would be ideal. There’s another breathing app i like that is a sphere that gets larger and smaller and it’s all grey scale which I love, but this app has the major benefit of all the other settings including setting specific times for inhales, holds and exhales. Fantastic. If the color could change and the second accent color removed it would be PERFECT

I was so anxious to write a review for this beautiful, simple app that I had to meditate for a few minutes, calm myself down and now here I am.

Straightforward app with neat graphics. This app should be an editor’s choice. I wonder why it’s not being seen anywhere?? I got to know about the app after using every single app on the appstore. I used atleast 17 or 19 apps including “Calm”.

I would recommend Calm for the meditation purposes, but the breath balloon in Calm is very limited. This app comes with the eye-catching/engaging graphics, usability with ease, in just one dollar? No money grabbing techniques and distractions. Please I’m requesting that the developers that they get a little more support in terms of money by marketing this useful app more and more. More people should know about this sexiness.

This app plus calm completes my “Mindfulness” hunger in a day. Hurrayyyy.....

This does the job. Simple to use, customizable.
This really has helped in so many ways: panic issues, insomnia, and great for my beginning attempts with meditation. This serves like a "metronome" for the body and mind. I love how you can customize some features, because not everyone is the same. Then the developer freely makes this available to all? Beautiful...especially during these stressful times. Perhaps include an optional "tip jar" in the settings? Generosity and talent needs to be recognized. Thank you.

Great path for breath control
I use this app every day and it works so well because it has 4 different breathing applications within it. This feature allows you to choose what works best for you and makes it easier to get a proper start in the practice and to form a habit that is veey good for your wellbeing. It has other nice features which allow you to tailor the program to your needs and comfort level. I highly recommend it.

Awesome Breathe is Awesome
This app is wonderful. I needed an app to work out my resonance frequency for breathing. First, it’s extremely well designed, the way all apps should be but are not. This app has all the bells and whistles. In addition, I can turn on what I need or turn off what I don’t need. Setting up the first time was only a few minutes.. I recommend watching the developer. Probably many more wonderful apps to follow.

*Update: I recommended this to my therapist after showing all this app offers for anxiety, PTSD, sleep disorders, and numerous other that occurred to me would benefit her clients.
*Update: Very pleased/impressed to see how much devs put in recent update, especially considering how much I already enjoyed this app.

Would it be possible to have some other sound choices for the end of session apart from “bell”? The “voice” would be nice, or a sort of twinkling sound? A volume control for the “bell”, (and any additional tone choices), would offer us the ability to end on just as blissful sound as the individual, or mood may need.

I sure do appreciate this app, thanks so much.

Some suggestions
Great app. I like the simplicity of it. That being said, it would be better if custom programs could be saved. (As others have mentioned.) Also, a different non-vocal cue would be nice, instead of the voice. Like a short tone of some kind, or a few different options. BTW, the vibration cue doesn’t work. At least not on iPhone 8 with current iOS. Someone else mentioned this too.
