AWorld platform news and improvements
Journeys / Episodes
The Journey section of the app has been improved by including a search view of journeys. You can discover journeys by filtering them by topic or SDG covered.
We have introduced a service of sending a daily push notification to prompt reading of the day's episode. At the moment the procedure is carried out to all users of the application. If the test is successful, we will make the sending automatic.
The deep link on the episode of the day has been inserted. Upon clicking on the push notification, the app now has the ability to open the episode story directly, avoiding simply sending the user back to the app homepage.
On the Journey page, the counter for the number al items in the list has been corrected.
News
The News module in the app has been rewritten. In the new service it is also possible to create news dedicated to a Team, which will appear in the detail of the Team in app, currently in the same mode as AWorld news.
Events
Turning off the "Events" section of the app. A command has been introduced to allow remote shutdown of the events section in app. Turning it off and on, therefore, can be done without the release of a new version of the app on the stores. It is understood that events put on the calendar will always be available within the Teams tab.
Authentications
Correction of the app's user login procedure through the code sent via email. Several reports have pointed out many failures of the automatic login link present in the email sent by the system when logging in. After some analysis, some corrections were made that would ensure that the problem was overcome. A graphical makeover of the email template was done at the same time.
Footprint
A comparison of one's footprint with the national and global benchmark was included in the footprint section of the profile.

Challenges

In the Teams section of the (old) administration panel (black favicon), new options have been added to configure the calculation of the challenge ranking by groups. If the Team provides for a division by groups contains a challenge, it is also possible to define:
- The minimum number of users a group must have in order for it to be eligible for entry in the ranking.
- The criterion to be used to draw up the ranking. In fact, it is possible to define whether, within a challenge, the sorting of groups should be done by the average of the values generated by the group members, or, more simply, on the arithmetic sum of the values generated.

Great app, but want more options
I love this app, and it is a great way for me to track how I am reducing my carbon footprint, or the amount of water I’m wasting, etc. I think this app could be even better if there were more options for us to choose. I’d like if we could have the plant based meal to be able to be chosen three times since there is a possibility of the meals that can be plant based. It would also be great if along with a 5 min shower option, there is a skip a shower option that saves even more water. Even things like composting instead of throwing out or eating leftovers instead of cooking or buying a new meal reduces your footprint. I love this app and will continue to use it but I wish there were more options.

Ease of use high, but does it help people change?
I’m already a well-informed person trying to radically decrease my consumptive impact on this world. This app has lots of nice features, but does it really get us to change? There are actions to take but all on roughly equal footing, despite differences in impact (eg recycling plastic vs eating plant-based meals), and missing many options or scaling up (Eg reducing use, reusing), let alone getting into the ways high consumption is systematically built into our lives, and therefore difficult to solve through individual actions such as turning out lights. There are several educational challenges, which often have helpful links, but again don’t push us very far. So it is intriguing, but I’d like to see it provide entry to greater action, more introspection toward larger commitments, and more emphasis on systemic change alongside individual change. I’m curious how it lands with people not yet familiar with the issues, SDGs etc.

All of us alive on this Earth in our shared biosphere have choices. Our individual actions are a huge force when coordinated and multiplied. How urgently do we each choose to change in small and major ways? This app might at times seem a little silly, but it’s impact is dead serious. Let’s all agree to use it as it was designed, and get our friends and family on. Then we can help it evolve instead of pontificating on whether it will make a difference. Many are asking if we should get a second app to help us engage with corporations.

Great Educational tool
I’ve been educating myself about environmental issues for many years, and as climate change in particular becomes more and more urgent, I look for new ways to engage others in a positive and meaningful way on this topic. This app is engaging, fun, science-based but very accessible to lots of people. I definitely recommend it and I will share this with others. Thank you!

Was really fun at first
Saving the world one habit at a time… but they must have made a change which makes logging habits harder. Used to be a one-touch and now I have to open, log, and close each habit window. It takes too long and for some of us, every second counts.

Terrible
One of the practices that is "good for the environment" is called "earthing", which is just standing barefoot on the ground. I guess that can be nice, but I don't see how it is good for the environment. Where it really goes off the rails is when they say that the action of standing barefoot "frees radicals", whatever that means, and that the Earth's "natural frequencies" have some sort of healing powers.
