Los_cejas,
DnD ultra lite with no rewards
D20 rolls for attacks and saves feel an awful lot like waiting for the real die to settle, the two options after every roll (left or right) for battle, rest, or chance lead to monsters that cant be beaten by 1-3 level characters. If you play the chance game (only choose the chance or rest) far enough, the game pushes you into battle with the behoarder with 247 hp who kills you in two swipes. I got to lvl3 with 32hp and behoarder killed me in two rounds while i made zero successful attacks against his 18 ac. Trudgey and seemingly rewardless, this game. 2-7 gold from each run will take 800 runs to get to buy any other starting character.
Snvck,
Pretty Much Unplayable
I don’t often write reviews unless I’m thoroughly impressed or depressed with a game. D&D is a classic and a favorite of mine and, don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind a little bit of rng spice. That all being said, this game is just... a good concept with poor execution? Visually, it looks pristine, but let’s talk actual gameplay. The balancing is terrible. The game makes you choose between items or levels, but both seem to be entirely sporadic with the items failing to scale vs the risk to gain them and the monsters becoming boss level after 5 battles. Either way, you’re going to make a bad choice. This would be accept if there was the “grind element” to the game. This being hand in hand with permanent continuation aspects such as leveling, gear, skill trees, etc. But each run yields you a measly bit of gold to unlock classes that don’t even seem worth the investment.

All in all, I think with enough tweaking and redesign the game could be enjoyable. However, for now, I’m just left questioning how I just wasted an hour of my life and why this game was released without a balance check.
Blahgidah,
I want to like this game
The art and writing for this game were very enjoyable. Everything from the monster design, and the injured hero portraits really nailed the tone as both humorous and thematic.

Gameplay is problematic to put it nicely, and this is after the recent patch. Games are about making choices, and I rarely feel i have any real choices with this game. Combat is rolled randomly, and you only get choices if things are going well and you have collected items for your bag. But it seems that normally there is a clear good choice versus an inferior choice. As an example, if i don’t have enough hitpoints to select a combat room, then the choice has already been made for me. In game design terms this is referred to as a false choice, the player really only has one option.

After a couple hours with this app, i just cant see continuing. I’m sad because the presentation is so solid.
Mklopknvrgbtyg,
Highly recommend
This game has a great concept and is well made, despite the reviews. I found that while many of the negative reviews had some truth to them, and I had similar experiences at first, once you get the hang of the game you can get through it pretty quickly. For my first several runs I was only getting about thirty to fourth coins, but those numbers quickly went up, and I can now beat the Behoarder pretty consistently. I love the game’s very simplistic strategy that allows for many different play styles, and the unique abilities of the different characters (although I wish there were more). Overall, this game is very worth downloading, despite the angry reviews.
Mr.Mozzy,
Love it! But a few issues and suggestions
Hi i love the concept and is a fun game overall but there are a few annoyances like how the trinket tab blocks part of the item selector and the trinket tab itself does not show you all of your trinkets. Another thing is after playing for a while items pile up and there is no way of discarding items that you have no use for so a trash button would be nice. Other than that the game is great. One suggestions i have is adding more creatures and items to give the game more variation and also adding a description of the monsters you face or giving them weaknesses to certain type of spells or if there already is make it more accessible.
Portojohny,
Cool concept but too hard
I was actually surprised that the what’s new section of this game says the early difficulty was adjusted recently, because this game is still insanely hard after the adjustment. My last attempt had the first enemy kill me in 2 hits. At that point in the game what options do I have to defend myself? Maybe giving the player a small selection of starter items/weapons at the beginning would help balance the difficulty and supply the player with more options?

It’s a cool concept though I’m going to check in from time to time to see if progress on the issues is made
@di0__0ib,
Simple and fun
Some reviews are a bit too harsh,it seems. There isn't a whole lot to this game. It's fairly simple. There are no hidden fees. There's not a lot of character growth either. It will tie up a days worth of time to finish most of the goals. My only complaint is that I've never seen so many natural 1s roll on a d20 in my entire life 😂 Don't expect anything deep. It's a simple and fun dice based time killing rpg. Only one thing I would like to see added: the ability to run from a fight. Even having to roll against dexterity or something to see if you fail.
ball2DaWall,
Lack of variety and insane difficulty
So this seems like a very very simplified version of dnd mixed with a slay the spire vibe.

I love it. And hate it.

For a mobile game it is really fun and easy to pick up and put down. The way mobile games should be.

However, it lacks and real long term depth. The Behoarder himself is stupidly strong and you encounter him super early on most of the time, when you are way underprepared. Even if you make it to the point where your only option is to fight the behoarder your measly character vs the 250+ hp beast that can 2 shot you is not going to win.

Gold is too easy to get and classes are easy to unlock, however once you unlock them gold doesn’t have that many uses outside of buying an occasional relic to start the game off.

It is less a game about skill and more just blind gambling and rng. I would definitely add a longer buildup to the behoarder and make characters tankier a little bit and make rests more frequent.
Josh with TOO maby baby pics,
Needs balancing
This game could be a LOT of fun, but it just isn’t. I wish I enjoyed playing it, as the concept and design is solid, but as other have said the execution isn’t there. Almost impossible to level high enough before facing a creature that kills you outright. I understand random chance, but it’s just not possible to gain enough levels to compete past the 4th or 5th encounter. The recent update helped a lot, but it wasn’t even close to enough to make the game playable. Again, I love the concept and the style, and the dev is onto something with this game, but I just can’t. I’ll come back to try again after the next update.
Saberdeath43,
Best update by far
Has this game from the start and it has only gotten better, it had a short dungeon crawl in the beginning with little variety in equipment, spells, and monsters. Now with these past two updates they have made more equipment and monsters, made conditions a thing making combat more fun, added new dice for someone to strive to collect them all, and are even now making the game even better. I wish I could give this more stars
