Play with the Bid Whist rules you like against the challenging NeuralPlay AI.
Features include:
• Bid and play hints.
• Bid and play checker. Let the computer check your bids and plays throughout the game and point out differences.
• Detailed statistics.
• Undo.
• Claim. Claim the remaining tricks when your hand is high.
• Finish hand when set. Play quickly. When the hand is set, finish the hand early as there is no need to play the remaining tricks of the hand.

Rule customizations include:
• Kitty size. Choose: 6 cards, 5 cards, 4 cards, or no cards.
• Sport kitty. Choose how the kitty is revealed: to only the declarer, to all players when there is a trump suit, or to all players.
• High and low bid ranking. Choose whether high and low bids are equivalent at a given level or a low bid beats a high bid at a given level.
• Minimum bid. Set the minimum bid to three, four, or one.
• Notrump scoring. Choose whether or not notrump contracts are worth double the points of suit contracts.
• Boston scoring. Choose whether or not to score double points for Boston bids.
• Overtrick scoring. Choose whether overtricks are scored as one point or no points.
• Joker play during notrump contracts. Choose how jokers must be played during notrump contracts: can be discarded anytime one does not have the suit lead; must be discarded as soon as one does not have the suit lead; may be played anytime but will not capture the trick; or must be placed in the kitty or exchanged with the kitty.
• Two of Spades. Choose to make the Two of Spades a high trump.
• Game over. Choose whether the game ends at a predetermined number of points or after a certain number of hands.

Solid App for Whist Players
This game is alot of fun. I’m surprised more people haven’t downloaded this yet. Alot of options are provided to customize your game to the various rules/styles of playing Bid Whist! The NeuralPlay customer team was very helpful and wasted no time helping to clarify my issues with implementing my choice rules. Now that I’ve successfully changed the game to my liking, I find myself playing during any free moment I get! Since Spades is so redundant, it’s nice to finally have a good whist app!

AI needs improving
I enjoy this app! HOWEVER, the AI needs to be updated. Example…when winning a bid, your partner(computer) should always play their best cards(Aces in other suits, etc), before giving you back the lead.
In NO Trumps, you NEVER play the tops off a suit(aces)unless you can control the suit. Meaning, Don’t lead with ace if you don’t have king, queen or jack. Play a low card, and maybe partner has king, queen etc.
Also, If I win the bid, and my partner has no more trump cards, HIS VERY NEXT play should ALWAYS be a weak card in his strong suit. This is strategy to let me know he may have an ace in that suit.
I hope this makes sense, coming from someone who has been playing bid whist his whole life. Which I learned from my grandfather’s generation, who played in bid whist card clubs practically, his whole life. 😉

I would give it 5 stars but…
I can’t get it to play fully like the real game, even though the settings say you can. I have it set for low taking out a high, yet when you play, only a no trump takes out a high. That’s not the real rules. Also, I have it set for minimum bid 4, yet the computer keeps sliding in with 3’s. No big deal, just annoying to see for a real bid player. Lol. My final issue is the ads interrupt my music, not ok. I’m ok with ads, I don’t need to hear them or have them override whatever I am listening to. Other than that. Solid app. The computer makes an ok partner, not like my crew, but doesn’t make dumb moves.

Very solid Bid Whist App
I definitely appreciate the customization. Two improvements: 1. Would love an option to pay for the app, and not have ads. 2. I believe it was mentioned in another review, but have a condition (or option) set that if either team gets to -7, they lose as well, rather than allowing for infinite negative scores.

Authentic Game
The best bid whist app I’ve played. It plays like a real person would. Unlike other apps out there, this one follows your lead, gets two-suited, etc. One improvement would be for my computer partner to stop “skating” and play its winner immediately if the computer opponent is fishing. We’ve bumped heads until I realized it was doing that. Minor adjustments that I’ve adapted to.

Best Bid Whist I’ve Found for iPhone so far
This is the best bid whist game I’ve found for iPhone so far. Gameplay is simple, doesn’t take up too much space, and the rules are customizable. The only suggestion is to improve the AI’s logic. My AI partner doesn’t use the best logic when playing, but it’s not a big issue. Still a great game.

Sporting the kitty
I set it to show the kitty if there is a trump bid. However it only shows the kitty to the declarer. Is it a problem with the iPad and iPhone? I have tried to change it in custom rules but no luck.

Low should win over high bid
If a low bid could win a high bid as indicated in preferences I would rate this application more stars. Thanks for the game.
UPDATE: I received a solution from the developers: select low beats high in custom settings (I also selected auto after hand is determined), start new game, and that worked, thanks team!

I am soooooo tired of the computer getting all these stacked hands!!!
I get it…you want to challenge the players but this approach that seems to favor the computer opponents has to stop!! No one can be that lucky where the first computer opponent has the Trump and their partner just happens to have either the rest of the Trump or the best of the off suits. Meanwhile, my computer partner is hit and miss on how to play cards let alone Bid Whist.

Good plays made by AI partner
I have played some others but, the AI partner doesn’t respond to well on plays done by me. This one seems to pickup on hints given by my play. If I don’t have the best card I will send a card out for my partner to play it’s best, like a Joker or ace. Other games have the partner hold it. Good game, so far.
