We always recommend backing up your data before updating. To do this, go to the Settings screen and tap on "Email back-up". Now send an email to your own email address. Wait until you hear the 'whoosh' sound of the email being sent before you close the app. Should disaster strike and the app needs to be reinstalled, you can restore your data by opening the email on your device and tapping the image marked "Tap here".
