Today is June 18, 2020, your favorite auspicious number, Dad. You had a brain hemorrhage and all of a sudden you're in heaven. My dad was an ordinary man, extraordinarily kind-hearted, carried stress, but always had a smile for life. You support my dreams and Mom's dreams with all you've got, and support our family. You loved rocks, and when I agreed with you to support your dream and make you a video you just suddenly left. Dad, you left too soon, you probably just wanted to rest and go see Grandma, maybe our turtle Raffles is waiting for you over there too.

Your last waking hours before you left were spent worrying about my schooling, Dad, rest assured that with your support, I have indeed learned all the What I want to learn: development, music theory, linguistics, film history, design, psychology, photography, game design and development, translation, and writing. , economics, leadership, business, etc.... I'm probably one of the few people who has seen all the faculty courses at the university. And I have a clear vision of what I want to study in the future. Don't go down with me when I say not to rush, encourage me to be patient and take my time. Your support and love is very real to me, and I will also pass on your expectations and support to every user. I will take your support and trust, Dad, and your heart to this application and all future products, and share it with the world! .

UPDATE: Some suggestions - OP: Settings button not working
Update: the settings button is working now, and overall, I really like the app. I do have some suggestions for improvement, just a few small things that I think would improve the app greatly.

1 - I think the app should allow for snap shapes and lines, I don’t know if this exists but it doesn’t seem like it does from what I can tell and have tried in the app.

2 - scaling dots/Lines for paper: the zoom feature is great, but sometimes with more zoom, the dots are too far apart to be helpful, especially since snap lines don’t work. Being able to scale dots and lines would be incredibly helpful, or at least the ability to customize the density of lines and dots for the entire paper, so just more options if scale can’t work

I think these two changes would make the app better!

Another thing: I bought the lifetime subscription, but my app doesn’t seem to be recognizing or restoring that, I don’t know what’s going on but this is the second glitch that I’ve experienced with this app, I don’t see how many glitches this could have

This is a big issue, I bought the app today but if this isn’t fixed soon I will have to cancel.

Also wondering if snap shapes work but have no idea because like I said before, settings don’t work! Good concept, wish execution was better
hvsxbix,

Summer Rex,
Not For Mac
I was very excited about this app but it is not compatible with the MacBook.
Junior880099123,
There’s Potential, but..
There is something very buggy about the app that turned me off. I was using it a lot during the summer for planning and mapping out stuff (which was great because of the unlimited space) BUT! I took a break to focus more on my academics when the semester started. About maybe 3-4 months later after not using the app, it wouldn’t open and I wanted to access my work from the summer and the app would immediately close when trying to open. I left it at that for a week and tried again - same thing. Frustrated, I deleted the app and reinstalled it and of course there was no backup or save system integrated so I ended up losing everything. It was months worth of work and was excited to use it more and more, but the amount of progress and work that I lost was enough for me to never use the app again. I had also paid for the premium feature which technically was a waste of money for me, so that’s cool too. Gave the app two stars out of sheer generosity because there’s potential but it seems like the developer just gave up on the app so, I’d really give it a one star if being honest here.
Branwiches,
Delivers What Is Advertised — Personal Fave, But There’s Room For Improvement!
BlankBook may not be for everyone but it was a perfect fit for me.

This little app delivers exactly what it advertises—a distraction free blank page with basic writing tools and display customizations.

I was specifically on the hunt for a note-taking app that had natural-feeling handwriting.

I know that can be different for everyone, but I’d downloaded tons of top-rated, big-label apps (Notability, GoodNotes, even waited for iOS 16.2 so I could try Concepts) and all of them had weird, blobby feeling pens that felt unsteady and extra ‘bleedy’.

I did really like the pens and writing in OneNote, but my creativity and motivation was usually zapped within 10 mins after having to create a new notebook, new section, and finally a new page to draft some passages or jot down some ideas.

BlankBook’s handwriting feels very similar to OneNote with way less distraction!

Critiques

My only critiques have already been outlined in other reviews, but I wanted to list a few just as someone who loves the app and would love to see it improve.

-copy and pasting images
-zoom also scales page background (at least for lines and grids)
-Edit allows user to select multiple pages at once instead of just one at time to delete

Other Suggestions

-Grouping for pages (similar to Procreate’s ‘stacking’ feature)
constanto,
Settings button does not work
Purchased. Tried to change settings of sheet. Setting text/button does not respond to either finger or pencil on current year iPad Pro. Neither does help or feedback. I installed the app on an old iPhone 7 Plus to try to change sheet settings there and the buttons don’t work on that old device either. So the app is probably fundamentally broken on a wide range of iOS devices spanning multiple years. One of the videos for the app shows the buttons in use so it’s clear how to do it.

No choice but to return immediately for full refund. I want to give the developer a chance but Apple won’t give me a refund if I keep the app for weeks while this is resolved.
Biotechnology Grad Student 22,
So many bugs.
I am an app developer and a student , and this reminds me of an app that took probably max two hours to write using a tutorial online. Not worth the price at all.

Let me save you the time. Get another note-taking app, unless you want a worse version of Apple Notes.

The developer must be new because there are so many elements of this app that are broken and unfixed. I’m willing to bet most of the four and five star reviews are from family and friends.

Running on iPad OS 14 on an iPad Pro 12.9 the loading animations are extremely choppy, scrolling does not move the canvas with the writing, and the paid version is not worth it at all.

The grammar and English in the app is unreadable at times, and it’s obvious it wasn’t written by a native English speaker.

Gestures are unintuitive, and going to the next screen prompts the same sliding animation, which does not make any sense. Animations are choppy and it’s clear that the developer does not have a good grasp of SwiftUI transitions or pagination.

For $7 get Notability or GoodNotes instead.

The Default Apple Notes app is superior to this. It allows for infinite scrolling, the canvas moves with the text. This app does not allow for PDF annotation or export, nor does it allow for scrolling while writing, like the default Notes app. This app is just a worse version of Apples default Notes app and is not being maintained, it seems.
Noooche,
Great app but sometimes glitchy
The app itself is wonderful. I love the concept and the user-friendly layout. However, the app crashes at seemingly random times while I’m using it. I’m not sure if there’s an issue on my end that’s causing this, but I’ll be checking my settings just in case.

PS: a folder feature would be a wonderful addition! I use this app for a variety of purposes; I would love to be able to organize it all!

Sending a big thank you to the developers of this app! Despite the issues, this app has been a lifesaver. Wonderful job!
Frankgrim,
Good app, not great.
I have only been using this app for a few days and I am in love, I have no thoughts of switching to any other note taking app. The only gripes I have with it are random dots appearing whilst I am writing and wishing there was some way to remove the double tap feature in pen mode to avoid having a screen pop up while I’m writing. I also wish there was a way to make files within the app. Besides this I am extremely happy and are truly the only things holding this app from being absolutely perfect in my book.
