stcbmhz,
Free Simple program to monitor BP
The free version is great. Allows you to create and print a spreadsheet of readings with 5 or 6 columns of info such as date, pulse, MAP, notes, weight, systolic and diastolic readings. You can write notes for each reading such as: took meds, did not take meds, or a highly stressful day. Can setup to automatically sync info to Health app. The MAP reading is especially helpful in giving an assessment of your arteries blood flow to major organs such as kidneys and brain. I have read that Doctors usually consider anything between 70 and 100 mmHg to be normal. All in all this a free app, which you can upgrade, that gives you basic useful information.
BTXGal,
Invaluable
App helps me maintain a diary of my BP
& MAP (mean arterial pressure) w/ability to make notes on the present variables at the moment from exertion to medications to symptoms like chest pain. It automatically moves a copy of the results to a health app. Also I can look at weekly, monthly & annual trends. Highlighted results when my dbp (diastolic) or sbp (systolic) aren't in target range allows me to see quickly those variations which could signal a need for further attention or evaluation. So easy to add the data. Scroll to numbers rather than type in, weight can be adjusted anytime & notes can be added each reading. (Used to be an app whereby I could hold my iPhone to my chest for BP. Found it reliably close yo a BP machine. I deleted it only bc it wasn’t updated to current iPhone IOS. Miss that portable BP “cuff”.) Glad to use this app. Recommend for those wishing to maintain feedback for themselves OR their doctor bc info can be exported to another source for review. I don’t need that right now but I will have the baseline data when the time comes. Worthwhile!
OmTattoo,
Simple, easy and exactly what’s needed
I needed something to simply and easily track my BP and weight as directed by my doctor. I bought another app for$5 that had all the bells and whistles, along with a complicated setup and that just wasn’t it. I take my BP three times a day and weight myself in the morning, hit the plus button, adjust the dial to my numbers and hit save. The big bonus is it will email me and my doctor a PDF with easy to understand numbers and a few graphs. This is the free version and not once have I got a pop-up asking I get the full version- if all you need is to track your BP and weight it doesn’t get better than this. With a two minute learning curve! Easy - Simple!
And easy five stars-
Haawgwild,
Helpful for sure!
I found this app, and after reading all of the reviews I downloaded it. After a few days, it looks like it has everything you need to accurately track BP, heart rate, and also weight. I already had an Omron BP arm cuff, but the ability to track this information and share it with my cardiologist is no doubt going to be very helpful. I haven’t used every aspect of the app yet, but it looks like the perfect tool. I’ll upgrade to the paid version after a month of trial, and update my review at that time.
Shatzii23,
Great app for history
Great app for keeping track of your history with blood pressure readings.
The notes section does help jog your memory when at the doctors office, but it would be nice to have a mini preview of the note on the history page. Even it only shows the first line of the note, we could determine if we need to open it in front of the doctor, instead of scrolling through trying to find a particular note to show.
iambookjunky,
I do like it but a few changes would mean love
I am new to blood pressure tracking. I found this when I went looking for an app to help me track my blood pressure. I do like the app but there are some changes I would like to make to it it would make it absolutely perfect. The sliding entry system well easy to use I don’t like as much as being able to enter the numbers myself in an easy to use format because my blood pressure goes all over the place. And well a slide will be at 1:10 after one use it can go up to 155 when I need to adjust it for the next use which isn’t really convenient.
Mustang Fran,
Blood pressure
I am 76 hrs old. Have CKD stage 3. I monitor my blood pressure twice a day. This site is very easy to use. If anyone could do this daily entry I’d have to say no not me. But, I can do this all by myself. The info is very important to me. Plus my kidney specialist & heart doc too. They both have I phone and I can forward my daily log directly to both of them. Staff is great & very helpful. Along they were able to define MAP to me. Thank you so much for all ur help. Sincerely. A senior
miniappleman,
Ok, But Dilutes Data
Overall this app is fine. But the PDF reporting leaves a lot to be desired. While the report will include details of each reading taken during the day, the charts average out the day’s readings.

Example, BPM at 112 for one at rest reading. But because others that same day were 70’s - 80’s the high BPM is lost on the charts that my doctor will give a quick look.

Graph needs to have option to show the spread of readings for the day. Not show just an average chart point at 89 BPM for that day.

Only having a point for the average of all the readings for the day dilutes the data and has given my doctor a need to question the chart data sent. So lately only sending the report with each reading. And that doesn’t show trends as the graph would.

A chart like the stock market hi/lo/close style would be much more helpful for a doctor to quickly pinpoint issues that a single averaged point does not.
Bump head Naso,
A great way to keep track of your blood pressure!
I have been using this for a month and think it is a terrific and easy way to keep a log of one’s blood pressure. I check mine at least 4 times a day and have for 2 years. Before this app I used to take a picture of my Omron cuff readings then enter them into an Excel spreadsheet. This is way easier and now I can delete the hundreds of photos of BP readings on my iPhone. This is a great app.
TimberKat,
Ok but not great
This is OK to keep a record of your blood pressure but I don’t like that you’re not able to just type in your systolic and diastolic and you’re forced to use the dial. But the main thing I don’t like is that the notes are hidden. In order to see your notes (ie. L Arm, after walk) that you made on that particular entry, one has to go in like your editing the entry then click the Notes tab at the top to see what you wrote. I wish notes were displayed underneath the blood pressure entry. I’m starting to look for another app that is better.
