Make the best quality movies that you can and see if you can earn the top prize at yearly award shows.

Bid on and win completed movies, ready for distribution, at bi-annual film festivals.

Pogfsshhhsnbxdsbdbdbbxb b,
Very fun but have 2 complaints
I love this game and have been playing for a while now! This game needs 2 things to make better and get that 5 star;
1) Have contracts for its actors so I don’t have to worry about replacing the actors every 2 movies in the series. This would make it so much easier to cast for movies and continue the series.
2) I would also like to see a change in how popular the movie is along with the inflow of money from it. An example will be the series I have in the game right now. It is currently and action-adventure movie series and it has an average profit of 1.4 billion. It has taken me 7 movies to make the popularity 80 and the money is staying the same. I would like to see the popularity of movies grow faster like they do in the real world. Looking at the hunger games movies; after the 2nd movie it was making huge money and popularity was super high. I’m just saying I would like to see some movie series jump up in popularity early on!
Mugyou,
Overall Great Game but has Gamebreaking Bug
Box Office Sim is one of the top sim games on the market. The game is complex enough to make it very interesting and hard to instantly master but at the same time not too overwhelming. I’ve seen some people complain there’s not enough instruction but I personally don’t get it as their is a info button present for each tab explaining what’s going on. The only problem with the game is the bugs. People are supposed to have ages in this game but from what I’ve seen, everyone stays at age 46. Another problem is that as the years progress, basically every movie is considered a blockbuster which means that no movies are eligible for the independent film awards. The worse bug of all is that the save file can get corrupted which basically ruined the entire game for me as I was on year 9 and my backup save was from year 1. Unfortunately until they can fix the save error bug, I can’t really play it.
Matt&Caleb,
Great Game Just A Few Things
Let me say I love these kind of games. I was just looking for a game and this popped up. So I started. I’ve been playing for about an hour so I know if a game of fun or good. And I have to say this one is. It is a bit tedious and can fell repetitive but it has so many choices to pick from you can’t forget it. My only problem is the franchise I made. I made a move that got double the amount it took to make so I made a Sequel. The first movie had a 97 rating on it but the second had a 95. Which we all know sequels never are as good as the original. But this one barely made more to 20 million more that it took to make. This really is my only problem. I would maybe like an answer or maybe a fix? But ads are really limited and this game is really fun.
jvnnie,
What I’ve been waiting for!
I truly enjoy this game with a passion! Countless hours playing this game. Can be difficult at first but once you get the hang of it, it’ll become easier and easier to win awards and release hit after hit. Can get slightly boring once you’ve mastered the mechanics as it’s usually just repetitive (release a movie, it does well, you get nominated, repeat). Not sure what else could be added but more variety would be amazing! Also to reduce the amount of pop ups that appear whenever you purchase promotions. The slow sliding thing can get irritating at times!

I really hope you all continue these type of games and branch out with a music industry game! Could be really interesting and complex enough to make it fun.
SweetBabyGauge,
Almost Great!
So I’ve been playing this game for about a week now, it’s a lot of fun seeing your franchises grow and winning awards, but theres a huge problem. The game is WAY too easy, all you have to do is get enough money to buy every marketing option then the money will likely make at least a billion if its high quality and the genre alines with the trends. This means you’ll easily make your money back and after a while of doing this money doesn’t even become a concern, I got nearly 100 billion with ease. Also this means that other studios don’t even compete, when looking at the movies page, all of the movies my studio made up like the first ten pages because my movies were making so much, the only reason why I continue to play is to see if I can beat my max box office.
lazingo,
Very fun for what it is
The game is very fun, and learning about the different factors that change how well your releases perform is also quite enjoyable. The progression is both a bit fast and slow at the same time, getting money can be easy depending on the amount you start with, and eventually you do not really have to worry about money. Getting your rating up can be pretty difficult, I am on year seven (almost eight), and I only have a 2.5 star rating with over twenty releases (all of which performed well) and sixty awards. Other than that there is not much to complain about other than things like small grammar mistakes and small bugs, hence my four star rating. Game has great potential and I look forward to future updates!
GoatmanYT,
Needs an update!
This game is by far one of the funnest I’ve played and it’s a great time killer. Unfortunately it’s been over 3 months since an update has happened. I’m not asking for some big huge update but maybe just adding some more graphics for logos, making the leaderboard a little better, I found myself top 5 in movie company’s after only a couple movies and they all had like 20+. Maybe even adding some uniqueness to the characters like having some basic actors but then if you get a really good story going some “golden” actors will become a choice and they’ll greatly improve the movie or something, I don’t know just something to think about because this game is awesome and I would love to keep playing it.
ItsEhhd,
Awesome with a few tidbits
Great game. Love the ease and progression of the game. However I have a few pointers to make that hopefully you’ll take into consideration for upcoming updates:

- If I wait out the first few weeks and buy out the independent movies, I’ve essentially monopolized the game. After a year or two of this, I’m able to fund whatever movie I want, however I want, and generally just win Best “———“ every year. This just ruins the need to replay. I’ve become God far too soon and far too easily.

- When going through the marketing process I have to deal with the “congrats” pop up every time I purchase an advertising option. It’s a nuisance.

- The game feels as if time isn’t much of a factor. After a while I didn’t realize I was on year 3. Maybe chuck in some more events? Or at least make the events... eventful?

I know the game is relatively small, but I enjoy how big you’ve made it. The world is vast, and well populated, but still feels empty. You gave me a reason to be here now give me a reason to stay, but more importantly give me a reason to come back.
Ikahnic1,
Really fun just a couple minor issues that would make the game more interesting
I’ve been playing this game for a bit now and have had tons of fun. For me the main fixes I would be to have contracts to make sequels easily as many others have suggested. I also wish there were a way to edit all the actors, directors, and writers so that it’s more interesting to select which actor I want rather than just picking the same actor with the highest stats every time because I don’t know anything about them. The final thing would be a buy all button in marketing because I like making tons of movies and always get all the marketing options which can be very tedious.
DubsOwl,
Enjoyable Movie-making Sim, though very flawed
It’s not the worst movie-maker game out there. It’s just that I have two major issues with the game:

1. It’s too easy to make a succesful film. Sure, it starts out as a challenge and all, but once your studio has enough money, you can power out a masterpiece almost every movie. It doesn’t really come down to thinking, skill and creativity, but it more depends on just who you hire. All you need to do is hire some good staff (which is very easy once you have the money) and then you have a 10/10 masterpiece on your hands. Boom. You can’t control the special effects, what the movie’s about (at least in-depth), no complex mechanics, not much. Just get good actors and it’s a good movie.

2. Ok, I made my point already. There’s not really any interesting story mechanics (I mean randomly generated encounters or such) nor is there any interesting or complex systems. Just simply toss a load of money and choose the right people and your movie’s great.

Again, this game is far from the worst, and I’m having fun playing, so don’t get me wrong. However, these issues must be fixed in some way.
