PaulV230,
Great app, feedback for the developers
This is a great companion app for the Breather products, and it helps keep me on track with my exercises. It offers audio cues so you can do your exercises without having to look at your phone for the most part. In that regard, I do have some feedback for the developers. 1) I’m doing the Breather Strength Training plan, and there’s a slight lag between the start of the first round and the first “Inhale” cue. The second round is in sync. 2) Please add an audio cue to let us know when the session is over so we don't have to watch the screen while doing exercises.
GBranim,
What a joke!!!
First of all, a 4.7 on reviews, yet you read through them and 80% are 1 and 2 stars! I used it for a month and it worked perfectly, but this latest upgrade created errors and lost my training plan and all history! I’ve emailed their help address twice now with no response whatsoever. I even got a mass email on Thur from their CEO titled “ Bugs Fixed In Your Breather Coach app - please log in”, and here it is now Sunday, but the AppStore says the app last updated a week ago, and my errors still persist. Why send out an email stating you’ve upload a fix, but don’t follow through. And what’s even more ironic, with all these bugs and no response to my help emails, they are on top of their emails to me because yesterday I received 3 emails: 1) Keep up Your Training with The Breather! 2) The Breather and Your Training Effort! and this one takes the cake 3) It is Never Too Late to Return to The Breather! You know what, I’d LOVE to, but you won’t fix my app nor reply to my emails. I’d love to get back to my exercises so they can be logged and timed, but guess I’m on my own now! BTW, why is a 1 star the lowest you can select?
Duboislaker,
Out to lunch
Each time I start a new program there’s at least one day where the app seems to fall off the rails. For whatever reason, the app won’t load or has some kind of connectivity issue, or some such issue. Don’t get me wrong, the is not an every day issue, but when it does happen, it’s frustrating.

So I ask what’s more important, having the device or tracking progress on the app? I agree with other reviewers who criticize the rigidity of the app. It’s really quite user unfriendly. But the reason I have the app is because I’m using the breather device. The device is important, the app is unnecessary and mostly irrelevant. And what’s the point of the sleep/happiness/whatever the heck it’s called part of the app? I can say I’m happy as a clam or rate my breathing as a asthmatic coal miner with black lung disease and the app won’t care. It’s just some stupid feature that someone added. There’s no history to my daily ratings.

So I can use the device every day, twice or three times a day if I want. I can use it on my so-called day off. I’m the customer, I paid my money for the device. I don’t need some silly app telling me about my progress. The app isn’t my coach, it’s like a notebook, nothing more.

With the device I can feel my progress. I know that my lungs have increased capacity thanks to my faithful using the device. This is why I purchased the device. To quote one of my old phy ed teachers, the breather app is “out to lunch.”
...Therese...,
Don’t waste your time or money
I’ve had numerous problems with the app. Every time I wrote to their Customer Support, they dodged the issues by giving a response that had nothing to do with the issues at hand. For one example, I explained that the app had me re-log back in (for what reason I do not know). Once logged back in, I lost all of my progress. Customer Service response was “Whenever you scroll down in the home tab you should see "Latest training results" under that you will see a Breathing session, once you tap that you should be able to see your results.”
Of course, if all of your progress is lost, you will not see any results.
My recommendation is to get a competitor device with an app that actually works. After all, this is supposed to be for improved health, and if the app is not working and the developers refuse to address the bugs, how can it improve your health??
I STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SYSTEM.
Daveykkkk,
Needs some fixes for better score
I think this app is basically great! It does what is supply to do, mostly.

My request is that the app be not so rigid in its treatment planning. I sometimes forget or miss a session, or a day, if my life gets hurried. Maybe you are better than I at keeping to a perfectly regimented schedule.

1. In these cases if you want to restart your schedule but it is your day off on the schedule you can’t restart where you were. And Sunday is your day off so you can’t practice Sundays.

You can use another breathing app and this has helped me when I was locked out of training.

2. If you miss a day or two the app has no way for you to start back where you were. You have to totally change your training program (with the “change training program button” then do it again and pick your original program. Then you can only restart at the beginning.

Now I realize that this program is trying to have you be disciplined like a clock which I can often do. But if you slip the program goes on without you and offers no flexibility.

I like the breather and the program. Developers haven’t included flexibility in this version.
GuitarPlayer61,
What’s even going on with this app?
I bought the breather and was excited to have a device to train with in tandem to an app, but this app is a DISASTER. Tries to recommend training plans with no real differentiation between them and literally zero explanations of them, and when you choose a program it locks you in at the time slots they set you at, as if everyone can follow it. No customization for scheduling makes it hard to follow their program.

Not only that, but you think there would be some sort of on-demand training sessions to choose from, but there’s literally nothing outside of their programs. There an “SOS” menu, but when I clicked on it there was absolutely nothing there.

There’s also little bits of information in the app that is a clear sign of poor development, like on my SOS page there’s script in the middle that says “There no SOS yet”. I hate to dock points for this in the chance that the person who made this doesn’t speak English as a first language, but with all the other problems this app has its hard not to acknowledge.

I’d give this a zero if possible. Such a shame because the Breather device itself is fantastic. I wish the app was at the same level.
tjjudy,
Impressed
So far I’m truly enjoying the Breather. I’m impressed with the quality of the device and the customer service as well as the app which gives so many options and a wonderful tracker to keep you on task. An unexpected benefit is my shoulders which have been locked up for many many months have now almost completely relaxed. I’ve only been using it a week and a half but I am optimistic of what’s to come. I can’t imagine anybody not benefiting from this product. I wish I would have tried it sooner.
Aja002,
Good companion to the device but buggy
This, or some other means to cue timing of breaths is essential to using the Breather device, since the pressure to draw air through the device depends upon the rate. The app does a good job of cuing breathing. The circle animation is effective. The tutorial videos are also well done.

In the down side, the app is horribly buggy. For example, if you change your day off (under profile/training plan), the app will tell you that you failed to do the exercises on your former day off. The graphic showing your days streak and completed sessions is wrong most of the time.
Flustered in PA,
Great…when it works
I was excited by the initial results of my Breather Voice. And the app was a big help in my results. But an app upgrade changed everything. It locked me from the program I was in and I had to change programs just to continue to us the countdown mechanism. And don’t miss a session. No going forward until you make it up and then you are constantly behind. And no Help Desk to call! I will continue to use the Breather Voice device as I think it’s a great tool. Not as much confidence in the app.
Technotutor,
Great device terrible app
I’m struggling with changing the settings to make it more difficult and it’s very very difficult to do that. That is a major bug

But also, I am left on my own with this app. I like the device, but I don’t know if it’s going to work because all I can do is breathe in and breathe out. But there is supposed to be different training plans as the days go by to help me increase the ability of my breathing, which is very shallow right now and the reason I got this device. All I can do is change the settings and just breathe in and breathe out because the app doesn’t give me any guidelines. The developer of this app needs to improve it, and fix the bugs.
