It used to work
I originally connected my G5 about a year ago, when I first got it. While the app had frequent problems connecting, I was, for the most part, able to use the app successfully for about 3 months. Then it just stopped connecting altogether. I tried deleting and reinstalling the app and it kept telling me that the G5 was already paired with another device and to disconnect the bluetooth and retry. I never connected it to another device, so I can’t disconnect it. I turned off every other bluetooth device I had connected to my phone, because tech support said it can’t reconnect if any other device is connected to my phone. They said to disconnect the battery, plug in the G5, reinstall the app, turn off all other bluetooth devices, and try to pair again. Now it says it’s trying to pair but never does. This is very frustrating considering how much money I have given this company. I have given up on trying to use the app.

Lacking Functionality
There is still no way to change any settings so it’s only useful for monitoring battery life. Problem is that it’s lacks any convenient ways to do so. There are no widgets or support for Apple Watch so the only way to do so is to open the app, wait for it to load and then check. Whenever I’m using the oxygen concentrator it’s always on my back. If it’s faster to check the setting manually by swinging it around so I can look on its display then the app is pointless.

Another DIS-satisfied customer
G5 - Same complaints as the dozens before me the Bluetooth Connect would not connect. Called customer service they say they will send a replacement. I told him I do not want a reconditioned or used one. They said fine since mine was one day old they would send me a brand new one. When it arrived it connected and seemed fine, until I turned the G-5 back on. Alarm - Sensor Fail. When it originally connected it showed that this particular supposedly new machine had over 20 hours of use on it. Long story short I asked a customer service supervisor for some type of compensation since I was going to keep my original machine even without the blue tooth connect. The answer was no ,they would send another reconditioned machine. I declined. Make no mistake this company doesn’t care one iota about its customers, all of whom desperately need these machines to have some type of normal life. I know this review is not going to matter at all to the company, but hopefully it will warn potential new customers to be warned.

APP - Concentrator Interface
The APP interface is primitive/unreliable and, in some cases actually interferes with the operation of the concentrator. I am using an iPhone 11 with the most up-to-software and a G5 less than a month old.

The App often does not connect efficiently. I have learned to be patient to receive a response from the concentrator.

On multiple occasions initiation of the app has actually interfered with the operation of the concentrator and caused a “system failure alarm” and the concentrator ceased producing O2. The only resolution I have found effective is shut down and reboot. I have uploaded failure reports each time but, without feedback from you, I have no idea whether you have even seen the reports or are aware of this problem.

Additionally, starting this system @ the #6 level is problematic. At least half the time the the concentrator motor will wind up high but will not stabilize as is surges up and down. Solution appears to be to dial down to #5 or lower, shut the unit down, restart the unit and then dial back up to #6. I must also be aware to dial down again before shutting down or risk another seeking/surging event upon next power up.

No Bluetooth connections but a lot of promises
This is the worst company I have ever dealt with that use some type of technology. What that means that are very stupid in trying to get their Bluetooth connection to work with my iPhone. It's been 2 months since I had this problem and no update on the app to fix this problem. Imagine if this happened to the company that you worked at, how much longer would you be working there. Their product is not working right and they refuse to give me back my money because they say it’s over 30 days. Do not do business with this Company and I believe they should be investigated by their state attorney for fraud. Do not buy from them.
It is now working with apples 13.5 update.

It works for me.
I love using the app, it’s easy to use and understand. I’ve had some of the issue that other users reported. But I found out that I believe they were human error. I say this because you have to make sure you follow the instructions when downloading the app. It takes a few minutes for the app to respond to the unit. Each time you power on your Inogen and open your app it takes a few seconds to open and the unit has to be close to your cellphone.
It works trust me.

Good - but updated TWO years ago!
Just started working with the app and my new G5. I was very frustrated that the app can NOT control the G5. It simply monitors current status. I have no more or less Bluetooth connectivity issues than with any other device.

I was tempted to knock off two more stars for the lack of updates, and control. “Customer Care” assured me they are working on the control issue. Easy answer - likely not true - Inogen, prove me wrong!

Not much of an app
I thought this would be cool to have an app. But seriously what good is it. I wish you could change the flow rate from the app. Or turn the machine on and off. Anything would be an improvement The machine weighs 4 lbs? Maybe with no battery. I was offered a g4. But I don’t think 1 lb lighter will help and it’s no quieter either. At least make the app worth having.

Totally useless
Problems connecting, but phone help quickly solved them. Too bad the Inogen customer service robophone system makes it so difficult to reach a human. Instructions for blue tooth reset of concentrators (press +, bell, and - at same time) should be added to both online FAQs and app connection instructions. That, long with reinstalling the app, plus toggling iPhone BT off/on solved the connection issue.

Iffy at best
When this app connects it does a remarkable job on advertising your of the status of the concentrator. That’s the issue. Don’t know if the app is in error or the machine is slow/unable to connect. If they connected 2 out of 5 attempts I would have to give it five stars. Unfortunately it seems that connection is a serious issue.
