TwoPossums,
Love it but hate the timer
I adore this game. It’s so cute and fun but I wish I could just play the levels with the incredibly short timer. I’d much rather enjoy the levels than be racing a clock constantly. Other than super cute and fun.
Rebecca😊,
Would give it 5 stars but it crashes
I love this game. I loved brick breaker games as a child and I was really excited to see a different version of it! And it was fun and I was addicted. I got to the 3rd level pack and then it started crashing on me, nothing I did worked so I had to delete the app and then redownload it. It worked, the crashing stopped, but then I had to start all over! I finally caught up to where I was before and now I'm on the 4th pack, but it has started crashing again and I'm getting very frustrated with it. Please fix it!!! And save my progress on Game Center so if I have to delete it for any reason, I don't lose my spot in the game. That's the only issue I have though, without those issues it's definitely a 5 star game.
Sweet.Peaches,
Adorable game
The game works well however when I do the unlimited mode the game just bootloops.

Good Ideas, Flawed Execution
I'm personally quite a fan of Breakout-like games, so when I saw this twist on the classic for free and with no in-app purchases, I was delighted. (I was surprised yet overjoyed by the lack of a Candy Crush-like lives system.) In addition, the art style is enjoyably simplistic and perhaps even cute, and I quite liked the music that plays during "boss" stages. (The level design, however good as it may be, felt like it was getting repetitive a short while into the game.) That overall positivity toward the game began to fade just a bit after a while, however, when I noticed the strange, erratic, and seemingly random difficulty spikes of the game. I enjoy a challenging game as much as the next person, but some levels made me say to myself, "What were they thinking?" Overall, I would say this game is quite good, but some oddly out of place and frustrating level design holds it back from being great. If you are a fan of Breakout-like games as I am, I'd say pick this one up. (Besides, it's free, so if you end up not liking it, it's not a waste of money.)
ashenol,
Where's the Ball?
I wanted to love this game, I truly did. It has all the right elements going for it. An interesting hook on the genre (The player has a paddle at both the bottom and the top of the screen), a fantastic art style, solid music and sound effects, and it's pretty easy on the battery as well! Unfortunately, the game sort of falls apart in the mechanics department.
Many of the surfaces in the game are angled or curved, which means that estimating trajectories can be somewhat difficult. But where the game really fails to impress is the paddle- which has an odd habit of reflecting the ball in random directions. On top of this, each level is timed. Some of these times are quite adequate, some are overly forgiving, and some are nearly impossible.
I have always appreciated the meditative nature of the brick breaking game. Unfortunately, none of that managed to make it through the Brickies translation. Between the complete lack of precision controls and the poorly implemented timer, the game becomes more frustration than fun.
SMJND,
Frustrating, not in a good way
I was excited to see this throwback design. I really liked these sorts of games when I was younger. Ultimately, this game disappoints. During the more challenging levels, you are often at the whims of chance in regards to which power-up appears and whether or not it is even possible to acquire. Many times, it pops up in locations that are completely inaccessible or impossible to get to due to the current obstacles. When you miss the ball, it can be devastating because it goes inactive. I know this can be mitigated with skill and practice, but it is so frustrating because the ball goes even slower. I say either make the penalty an inactive ball or a slow ball, but not both. Also, the ball frequently bounces nearly horizontal and takes forever to get back to the paddles and wastes tons of time doing so. If this happens when you have an inactive ball, there is no way to recover. When you fail a level, you can watch an ad to increase the time available to complete it, but this is something I refuse to do.
JbATLGA,
Great game but BEWARE
Tldr; disable cellular data for the game before you play it.

This game is a lot of fun and challenging. I have played it for many, many hours over the last few weeks. However there are full screen ads that you have to view every few rounds. These ads seem to cause the game to crash frequently. More importantly i just found out i have used up most of my cellular data for the month (6GB) and i went to see how that happened and discovered this game had consumed 4.5GB of my cellular data. I was on wifi most times i played so i have to assume it could have been much worse. I think the video ads are the culprit which is ridiculous considering that i watched the same ad almost everytime. So i guess this app is downloading this add video in ultra high def over and over or maybe the game is uploading all of my cat videos to some server in Russia. Either way make sure you disable cellular data access for this game.
Macidlynx,
Decent breakout game with some flaws
The good news is that the game works for the most part. You bounce the ball and hit the bricks and hit them all to clear a stage. Aside from some stuttering (playing on iPhone 4) the game works. It has varying level designs and different power ups, which unfortunately make or break your game. Once you've unlocked them all, some levels require you to get a specific power up in order to beat it because of how the level is designed, and because power ups are randomized in appearance and location, this can lead to many do overs. Luckily, there is an endless mode where you can play until the time runs out, getting more time for more bricks broken. (More like time attack but whatever) I reccommend this game, it's very fun and a good time waster, but it could stand to benefit from some tweaks to the game play.
nyiachad,
Needs A LOT of work
So first off, who has an endless mode that ends? That is a huge flaw. Massive! I can't even believe how big of a mistake it is! Keep endless mode endless... Second, you keep having crashes which makes it really hard to beat the levels. The ball is slightly hard to see because of the effects and for people who struggle with visibility problems you are making it so they are unable to see it. The game is good itself but it has too many things that need to be fixed like glitches and it needs a tutorial when you first start the game. Like a good one. Or at least something that helps you learn the power ups and how to use them. The game would be good if these problems were fixed and there was actually a real endless mode. I was really disappointed when i saw endless mode didn't go endlessly.
Eler Barbosa,
Simply complex
This game is great to play on and off like during a break, lunch, waiting and pretty much anything with cracks of time. If your looking for a game to win quickly and feel good about winning, then it's probably not for you. Honestly try it out till you start to feel that frustration and if you do not like that feeling from this game just press your home button and delete the game and look for another one. When I play: I play without getting extra time in those ads, so if you want to play and not get frustrated then watch an ad to get some more time when your close to winning . When you add up all the ads you watch you realize you can be playing another game much better that is less time consuming. Well hope that helps anyone have a great year :)
