Okay but could be better
I wish there was sound with the app that counted down the last 3 seconds of rest / of times exercise. I wish there was a preview page of what your workout would be so you know what equipment you need and are ready for the first exercise (these are all aspects of the SWEAT app which if consider the gold standard since it’s been around for so long and I’m surprised the creators didn’t take note of some of the more helpful features). I like that you can choose different levels of workout each day, I don’t like that all that means is that if you want in intense day you might be doing 100 reps of an exercise at one time or 3 min of burpees at one time rather than maybe adding a circuit, adding weight, or adding a few more challenging full body moves. I also like that each circuit does one standard movement, an ab movement and a HIIT movement I think this is unique to this all as most exercise programs focus on body part/circuit. I feel like it would be nicer to have more control of your schedule, instead of having it give you 7 days of workouts I should be allowed to assign what days I want to use the app - M, W, F for example to allow for other types of exercise other days of the week while still keeping you “on track” according to the app.
Elena Brooke 😩😩😩😩,
Not worth $24
I hate to be this way, but after trying both FORM and Madeline Moves, I can assure you this app is a waste of money. For $24 A MONTH you get only 6 workouts that you repeat for 12 weeks. Why would I continue to pay $24 a month for 4 months ($96) for the same 6 workouts? I understand Cara likes “consistency” but maybe if that’s the case, drop the price down… Also, the workouts in itself are not thought through. They seem like someone spent 5 min max putting together a workout that I could have made myself. My “challenge” consists of the same 6 workouts a week with each workout having 4 circuits. Each circuit has one random cardio exercise at the end of each set. I also would love to be able to look through each workout the day before without having to take 15 min to skip through each exercise and rest. Also a great idea would be to do normal days where there is different exercises each week so that if you didn’t want to do the same 6 workouts a week or just didn’t want to do a challenge, you could do that which would make the money more worth it. I just think that for $24 it could have had waayyy more thought put into it. It doesn’t seem like the app has even took into consideration all the constructive reviews it has gotten because they seem to have the same issues I have as well.
Bunnyxoxoxo,
Great at first, ultimately disappointed.
When I first found out that Cara was launching a fitness app, I was pumped. I’ve been following her for years and love her whole vibe. I liked the app at first. It’s great that it’s just a repeated video of Cara doing the step and not an actual class I have to follow along to. It allows me to go at my own pace and see a constant demonstration of how it’s done. I like that there’s no sound so I can play my own music or podcasts. However, I ultimately unsubscribed. I was extremely disappointed that it was just the same work outs each week. I crave variety in my work outs and I don’t think it’s a fair trade off. A pricey monthly subscription price for the same exercises each week? Not worth it. I know Cara has said that the point is to increase weights as you progress but in my opinion, it seemed like a cop out answer. I would have definitely kept subscribing if there were new workouts launched each month. Ultimately, I wouldn’t recommend the app.

More things I love than don’t!
I have tried a lot of workout apps/platforms recently in the search for one that I really liked and felt like I could get good results with. This has been perfect for me so far!

What I love MOST is that the workouts are done with minimal equipment—dumbbells, a bench, and bands. I don’t even have an actual bench yet, but have been making it work with a sturdy bucket in my husband’s shop 😂 I’m a stay at home momma, so I workout at home either early in the morning or during naps, which is why I love the design of the program!

The workouts take me 45 minutes-an hour, and I personally like that there is no sound on the app 🤷‍♀️ I don’t like the pressure of “keeping up” with a coach or whatever. I can move at my own pace, but I am still getting a gooood sweat and calorie burn!

Also compared to other fitness apps I’ve tried, this one is really user friendly!!

I have seen complaints about paying for “only 12 workouts”, but I like this aspect too. The more times I do something, the better I get at it—my form, how heavy I can lift, how many reps I can complete.

I do agree that I would like to be able to set my day 1, 2, 3 a little differently to accommodate for the days I rest, but it’s not such a big deal if I just remember what workout I last did since they’re labeled “Day 1”, “Day 2”… I know the app is newer, so I’m sure there will be updates and more things added in the future.

All in all, I’m happy with it so far! 🤗

Not worth it
I was really excited about this app because I love Cara and follow her workouts on Instagram. I’m also pregnant so found this to be one of the few pregnant programs. I even canceled my actual gym membership and SWEAT app to begin this journey.

I had issues day one with being double paid. I reach out to Apple and the issue was fixed and I was reimbursed. The login is not the only issue though.

You don’t get to preview the workout beforehand. You don’t know if you need certain weights or what to expect before the exercise comes up. I like to preview the whole workout in the SWEAT app, get mentally ready and set up, and then start the workout. There is also no real way of knowing if something is 12 reps total or 12 on each side or what. I also wish there was a way to say you finished the workout and don’t really like that I’m paying a decent amount of money for 6 workouts total. I get consistency but it feels like the price is not worth it. I like the intensity of Cara’s workouts more than SWEAT but I feel like comparatively with all the different options, strength levels, audio, and exact direction, the sweat app feels more worth the money than this. It feels very flat and like it was thrown together quickly.
Fjdoy__7__,
Solid start but definitely could use improvements
I like the style of workouts (circuit and muscle group focused) and they are good workouts. The app has a clean look, is easy to use, and I like that you can see your set count and circuit count. That being said I think they should bring a personal trainer onto their team to help with writing the programs. It seems like there are some gaps in the training and there are a couple form issues in the videos. Especially for the price (more expensive than the SWEAT app with much less to offer). It’s not bad by any means, the look of the app is top notch. I just think content is going to need improvements to be successful long term. Everybody starts somewhere and I think it’s a great place to have started 😃
ScorpiogalAAA,
Great for New Mamas
I recently switched my daily workout to follow Cara Loren’s method on The Burn App and I am so happy with the switch. Initially, I started Burn because I found out I was pregnant and I knew that Cara had workouts to accommodate pregnancy. Most workouts I’ve come across to accommodate pregnancy are, for lack of better words, pathetic. Thank goodness for Cara & the Burn app because I finally feel like I can workout at a challenging enough level to my skills while also having the peace of mind that the moves I am doing are not harmful to baby in any way. Some of these workouts are Harder than the Non-pregnancy workouts I was doing!! It feels so good to get the workout that I am used to in during this most important time in my life to maintain my health and fitness !
olqwsx. them,
Great Workout and App
I’ve really enjoyed these workouts. I feel like I can move through the movements pretty quickly so I’ve even added them to the end of another lift. They are also great when I have a longer cardio day! I love that it’s easy to do them at home when I’m in a pinch.
I have also loved the flow of the app. Some exercise apps are harder to navigate and these workouts are so clear. One thing that I think would be a good addition is a way to track the weight used for each exercise. Just to track progress a little easier. But, overall I’ve been very happy with this app and look forward to my workouts!
Jacq.n.jackson,
Lots of improvement needed
I have been following Cara for a while now and was really excited when she announced this app. I have used the Sweat and also the Alive app for years now. The programs and features for those apps are extremely streamlined and thought out. I know this is a new venture for Cara, so I knew there would be some “growing pains” and areas for improvement. However, as another user mentioned this app feels rushed and like the time wasn’t put into thinking about the user experience. I’d also like to point out that the cost is more than the 2 programs I previously mentioned, which also leads to higher expectations. I had a hard time with not being able to preview my workout, and feeling like the exercises were repetitive. I’m always willing to come back and try out the app again if it improves, but for now I will have to pass.
Oddly Disappointed,
Worked great… and then crashed
I purchased a single month membership to try out the app and I was very pleased for the first day!! I was so excited to go into my second workout even though I was sore from my first day, but then I opened the app and couldn’t even access any program data at all. When I tried clicking “Get Started” to attempt to restart the program and re-access the programs, the entire app crashed and closed out. This has happened multiple times despite logging out, deleting the app, restarting my iPhone, and even deleting lots of things in storage/other unused apps to make more space. I hope to continue using this app for my workouts. Please advise..
I am oddly disappointed at the moment, but I will try again tomorrow to see if it will be fixed.
