Description

Fake news, echo chambers and unconscious bias. How do you get out of a filter bubble if you don’t know you’re in one? Enter Burst.

For everything in your feed, Burst finds reposts all over reddit and intelligently merges the comments together. This helps you see things from other perspectives to foster a more open mindset.

If a link in your feed is reposted across r/apple, r/iphone and r/technology, Burst merges them all into a single discussion. Links posted to r/politics, r/conservative, and r/liberal are combined to help break down filter bubbles you might be stuck in.

Hello again! I'm back and fixing bugs and adding safety features. This update includes:
- See something nasty? Now you can report posts, comments, and messages
- See someone nasty? Now you can block users and make 'em go away for good
- Added links to the reddit privacy and content policies, so you can brush up on what's naughty and what's nice
- Swiping back from a subreddit for the first time no longer opens the drawer
- Fixes a crash when trying to scroll and exit the image previewer at the same time
- Fixes a crash when commenting goes horribly wrong
- Some cleanups under the hood

Vertically-scrolled comments are here! If you're not a fan of paging through comment threads horizontally, there's now a setting to turn that side to side into an up and down. And because I'm so nice I've also included a handy extra button to jump to the next comment thread in the list. Enjoy!

Also in this update is a little performance enhancement. You might notice swiping in and out of the comments is a little smoother.

It's been a bit quiet lately! I'm working on a big(ish) feature right now, but I thought I'd slip in a little bug fix. If you've noticed some image previews in comments not showing up, this update should brighten your day.

Now you can do more with posts and comments!
- Share and save from the new action sheet
- Swipe back on a post to reveal its metadata, swipe further to open its action sheet
- Or, if pressing is more your thing, long-press a post to open its action sheet directly
- Long-press a comment to show its action sheet

ImAltastic,
Love it!
I’ve tried almost every Reddit client on the App Store. I keep going back to the official Reddit app because it has everything I need and for now this app is still a work in progress. I’ve noticed little animation glitches when swiping between comments and I hope a compose button will be added so I can send messages to other Reddit users on here. That along with message notifications would make me delete the official app once and for all. Great start! Keep up the good work!
naqahdah,
Excellent
If this app had full-size cards like narwhal or the official app and you could enable auto play of stuff like gifs, it would be my default app hands down. Easily the most attractive reddit app I have used.

For me, the way the comments work is perfect. Not only do I get the ‘bubble burst’ thing going, but it seems to cut down on a little of the rabbit hole-esque memery that the comments always revolve into after one or 2 levels of comments.
TheBensonBoy,
Good idea, force touch is non existent
Although I like the app as an idea, there is a big force touch bug that is infuriating to use especially Because that's how your supposed to use the app anyway. When opening the app for the first time, there is a fake subreddit, or is very hard to find, telling you how to use the app. It's just simply not a good client

Note, I do have an X and I have seen a couple other apps not be able to do 3D touch inside, so it may be an iOS bug, but other apps allow me to 3D touch so I highly doubt it. Please fix this, I would love to post an unbiased review at one point
YaBoiYan,
Good app needs updates
I like how they integrated the force tough but, swiping seems to be pretty left out. Having to press an "X" to get out of the comment is a little unintuitive. I also feel like there needs to be a constant search bar. Having to scroll all the way back up to the top for that is a little annoying.
Chaahlz,
Buggy
I really like the interface but the app needs work. Audio from videos continues to play after leaving the built in viewer. The app begins to lag the further down the rabbit hole you go, which can cause multiple instances of images opening—which each have to be individually closed. If comment threads are long, the furthest down posts do not load.
The concept and design are both fantastic, but it needs work.
General Jim Raynor,
Suggestion to Dev
Tbh, from my own opinion, the futuristic layout is a fundamental flaw to the app. It spend much more time just to scroll down the comments section like other clients, Apollo, Reddit, etc.

Since Reddit is driven by content. If an app try to be competitive than others by only differentiating layout, reading experience must be compensated. While THIS, I could say, hurt the user experience a lot

On the other hand, Dev should check out every competitor. From the app what I tried before, they basically use the same layout with official one
Alex Somethinf,
It’s not bad, just needs some more buffs
I like Burst, it’s the best Reddit viewer I’ve had so far. My only real complaints are I can’t see cake days, gifs don’t play automatically and that subreddits are only in compact mode. Other than that, the app has an amazing feel and look and I look forward to future updates
Inderjeet 23,
The app would be perfect if there was a setting to view an entire comment section
I know the entire point of the app is to burst the bubble, but I would love for there to be an option to change the way comments are view to the traditional way; burst is by far the best looking client and I would love to make it my daily driver, but the comment viewing is too tedious. Great app otherwise!
yeshesvi,
Phone running hot when app is running
The ui is pretty, has some major usability issues. But, my gripe is the iphone 7 is running considerably hot when the app is running.

Probably optimization issues as it is new. I will see a few days if an update will fix this.

A tip to devs: If you want the “hot new top” categories as tabs make them as tabs not as swipy things.
Fite4DIMONDZ,
Good, but needs more options
This app is beautiful. I love the UI in every way. But I have a couple complaints. I want to turn off the repost merging functionality as well as add what sub the post is from in the feed. If those two things were added, this would be my 100% daily reddit driver.
