Coming along
So I like using the app so far when it’s working properly. Had a connection issue last night, but previously been working fine. I don’t like turning on my location on my cell phone to play though, especially when it shows locations and I tell it where I am playing. Still would like to see the answer knowledge after questions and especially it saying Question # blah blah blah Answer...Question # blah blah blah Answer... It just says question then points/answer then immediately into question w/o notification so if your looking at the phone and not the screen as well you don’t know to get ready for the next question.

Good Beta - but really need all games!
Hubby and I are so dedicated to trivia that we did not update iOS for years so the old app would still work. We downloaded this new (beta) version and updated our phones. The beta works well for what it does - but it has limited primetime games. Not having Showdown on the app is a huge drawback. We have missed some Tuesdays with our usual team because we can’t join in, all other tablets are taken, and the bar can’t/won’t order more tablets. We would play more often if Showdown and other prime time games were added.

Needs hints
This newer version is much better than the previous version but is still lacking many needed features. Namely the clues that are given in games with five answers, like countdown and topix. So those relying on the app are at a disadvantage to those with tablets and TVs where the hints/clues are shown. Hope this feature is added soon. Because at my local Buffalo Wild Wings most of their tablets don’t work and the ones that do never have a charge. And to look at the one tv with trivia on it a mile away and then back to the app to answer is also a disadvantage.

I’d rather touch my own phone than the pad. My phone will also not lose a charge like the pads. The app needs to have the games that are on display in the restaurant. Texas holdem etc.. It needs to emulate what the actual Buzztime screen looks like on the pad or very close to it on the app. This app would be a 5 star if that happens. It would be great.

Completely unusable
Was at a restaurant and downloaded the app and about the only thing that worked was the location services found the restaurant we were at. After that it failed to find the active game repeatedly. Reset the app multiple times and it sporadically was able to find the game and let me in, but every time I was able to get in it kicked me out after 10 seconds and then say there were no games available again. Gave up after 20 minutes of trying to get it to work and will never try it again

Updated based on actual feedback.
Glad the app is back after the long absence. Very impressed to see that the developer actually listened to and responded to the feedbacks, then actually made the changes in the updates. Im sure it’s not perfect, but at least you listened, and put in the effort. I haven’t seen any other app updated based on customer feedback in a very long time. Bravo to you.

Still no poker...also not a replacement of game boxes
issues I have with this app:
(1) the old app should have kept working until the new one is ready. This one still doesn’t have poker
(2) phone apps are NOT a replacement for in-store game boxes. If I use the app then (a) battery drains faster and (b) can easily use my other phone functions such as texting, calling, browsing, etc
Our local BWW used to have a massive turnout for poker and trivia. But they are no longer replacing bad boxes and now there are less than 10 and they barely hold a charge. The trivia crowd is gone. And the poker crowd will soon follow. Management says the app will fix that but it WONT as shown above.
This app is the wrong strategy. Quit charging facilities on a per box basis. Sell ads on the boxes instead. You are missing the boat here and I can see the writing on the wall unless you address this.

Love this new version
I love the new update that you can play independently anywhere! This is what I’ve been waiting many years for: An amazing interactive trivia game on my phone!
I’ve been a fan of Buzztime trivia since 2001 and have loved playing whenever I get the chance...this is so great that I now can play anywhere!

Recent app update solves worst complaint
Updated app now includes the questions, allowing users to compete in locations using tablets instead of the classic playmakers.
Now if we can just get these locations to put the game up on a TV, to get other customers to notice what we’re playing. The more, the merrier.

Needs a bit of work
I like the option to use my phone as a playmaker since my local place routinely runs out of the playmakers, however I wish the app would mirror what is played on the tv. Sometimes I can’t see the tv and it would be nice to see the clues, the answer and the leaderboard.
