I am an independent app developer and I made this app because I couldn’t find a good app on the App Store to catalog my baseball collection. I have worked really hard to provide an app that is both powerful and aesthetically pleasing. The scanner and automatic information detection make Cardstock the easiest way to digitize your collection, the value lookup is the quickest and most accurate way to estimate the true value of your cards, and the ability to share beautiful images of your cards is unrivaled. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, don’t hesitate to email me at [email protected].

sgrams0402,
FINALLY! A kid friendly app
My sons love looking up their card collection. I’ve struggled to find a card value app that doesn’t have social media integrations, comment sections, auction/buy now buttons, etc. This app looks up cards, shows the value, tracks your collection, and doesn’t have the fluff I don’t want my kids exposed to. If the developer decides to add it later, my hope is there is a way to disable those features to keep it kid friendly.

I wish there was a way to view subscription tiers. I can’t tell how many cards I can store using the Free option and when I’ll run out.

It scans nicely, cropping the cards near perfectly.
Bob Ldenkirk,
Amazing app but needs an adjustment
Cardstock would be a perfect rating if it compared prices from eBay. Considering that more card sales and bids are made vie eBay, it would make more sense to compare from a site that can give a much more accurate estimated value than a random site that is being used currently for value estimates. Another thing, I wish that this could be more of a social media thing for cards so that different collectors can sell cards and boxes as well as trade individual cards. In addition to this new implementation, Cardstock could eliminate the unlimited feature and make the features free. Their new source of profit would be a minute portion of commission used in payment for cards between collectors.
J.R.89#,
Great App for Card Collecting & Monitoring Value!
This is a great app, and I plan on using it a lot in near future. Only problem I have is it crashes a lot. It’ll either crash after both card photos are taken, or sometimes after just one of the photos is taken.

There have also been times where I accidentally swipe up or down, and it won’t save the progress I’ve made of uploading new cards. Not sure if it’s a hassle to add auto-save feature after uploading one side of card, card information, etc.? No worries if it is. Great idea for app overall though! Any chance to integrate card values from Beckett in the future?
c_lauer,
Good start
Tried it out on a couple of cards & the scanner seems to be decent. Recognized most of the card info accurately with just a few manual additions & corrections required.

Nice that the collection option has multiple ways to sort & organize.

The only thing that’s preventing me from upgrading is having to manually select the value look up & that it relies on Mavin. Would prefer the value data to always be displayed next to the card in the collection & have to a cumulative collection value to justify paying to upgrade.
concussed-cody,
Not worth premium
Good: it’s a app to help catalog and organize your sports cards.

Bad: 1) every time I go to scan a new card it asks me to subscribe to premium after I’ve already purchased it. I have to hit “restore purchase” every time just giving me an extra step and slowing down the process.
2) when taking a photo, the default settings will always put a filter on the image making it come out really bad. There isn’t a setting to turn it off so it’s another agonizing unnecessary step in the processs to change the filter to “photo”
3) the scan tool does a poor job at detecting edges so I have to manually set the boundaries.
4) app doesn’t have all the card brands so most information can not be input
5) app can’t detect holo writing which means you have to manually input info frequently for Holo cards
6) app doesn’t detect obvious information, frequently inputs wrong teams wrong positions and wrong information
7) app can’t find values for most cards. May work on newer cards. But most cards I’m scanning are 60’s-90’s

Overall it’s a very tedious manual process and it take much longer than it should. May be ideal for a few cards but don’t bother if you have 100’s or 1,000’s
RAH-HC,
Confusing
I was really hoping to like this app. I have a fairly extensive collection and would love to catalog with pictures. First I misinterpreted the claim that the app could “recognize “ and find card information based upon the picture. I thought that was a stretch for an inexpensive app. Second there is no instruction. I have spent well over a half an hour just to figure out how to log one card. I must have just gotten lucky, as I am still trying to figure out how to add a second one. For someone who would like to log thousands of cards, it is just not worth the frustration. Maybe some sort of help in explaining how to use the app efficiently and would like it.
vangzlol,
Few Issues
This app is a great idea for people like me with too many cards to count. However, there are a few flaws that should be revised that I will address in this review. Firstly, when you open a checklist of cards, the cards duplicate themselves by three each time you open them. Secondly, the information detector can be extremely inaccurate, when can lead to more effort in a sense of trying to replace the incorrect information with the correct information. Other than this, the app is is great, and it is a great idea.
I bust on 12 every time,
Great Start to this App
Love how easy it is to scan and recognizes most cards. Easy to edit unlike other apps. Looking forward to being able to see value of my collection without going to another website to look up value of cards.

Woul also like to be able to list/sell my cards from this app. on EBay or other sites. Hopefully future development!
When you can do these 2 things it’ll be 5 star for sure!
Otherwise great app.
TheOuthouseMouse,
Good app but cumbersome
The feature allowing you to take a picture of the card and for the app to automatically fill in the details is not seamless. You have to position the card perfectly in the correct lighting or else the picture will be dark and/or the card out of focus. Also, not infrequently, the filled-in details will not be correct necessitating manual correction.

For example, it had taken me probably 20 minutes to enter nine cards. Given that I have 660 cards to enter, at this rate it will take me a considerable amount of time.
Dave Mac,
So far, OK
Been struggling to find an easy way and portable to keep track of my collection and use it when looking for cards I want. This app seems to work ok- the scanning is inconsistent with the details it pulls from cards. When I group the cards by players, it does this weird thing where it gives me two different collections of that name. So if I’m looking for a card of a certain player- I need to search two different lists. Trying for a month…still a wait and see for me.

Would also love to see a feature for cards I want…
