Description

CollX (pronounced “collects”) answers the question every collector has: “What’s it worth?” The app lets you scan most cards; it’s not just a baseball card scanner! Scan football, wrestling, hockey, soccer, or basketball cards — as well as TCG cards like Pokemon, Magic, and Yu-Gi-Oh! — and instantly identify it and get the average market value. Once you’ve scanned your cards, add them to your collection and track your portfolio. With v2.0 of CollX we've added a marketplace, where you can purchase cards with a credit card, get shipping and tracking, and earn cash selling your cards to other collectors. Turn the hobby into your side hustle!

COLLX SPORTS AND TCG SCANNER
CollX’s visual search technology instantly recognizes and matches against a database of 17+ million sports cards and trading cards. After identifying the best match, you’ll immediately get the current average market price for the card. Our deep-learning models were created by a team with 10+ years experience developing image recognition technology. In addition to being able to match most RAW cards, CollX will also identify graded cards with barcodes, as well as parallel and reprint versions of cards.

BUY AND SELL
New in v2.0 of CollX is the Marketplace, where you can buy cards using a credit card, Apple Pay, CollX Credit, and your balance on the app. Use Deals to bundle multiple cards and make an offer to the Seller. As a Seller, you can utilize several shipping options, including CollX Envelope, where you'll get tracked shipping for as little as $0.75! Other Seller Tools include the ability to set a bulk discount and to decide if you want to accept Offers. Cards bought through the CollX Marketplace are also covered by the CollX Protect policy, where payments are only released when the cards arrive at the Buyer, giving peace of mind to both parties in a deal.

GET HISTORICAL PRICING
CollX uses millions of historical auction prices to calculate a card’s average value. As you add cards to your collection, you’ll see your overall portfolio value grow. Set conditions or grades on your cards and get more accurate prices. As your cards rise or fall in value, CollX helps you track both individual card values and your overall portfolio value. No more wondering what your Pokémon card value is!

BUILD YOUR CARD COLLECTION
Create and keep track of your card values. View your collection as a grid, list, or as sets. You can also filter and sort your cards by a variety of criteria — value, date added, year, team, etc. With CollX Pro, you can export your collection as a CSV. You can also view your sets, see how close you are to completion, and generate printable checklists to help track down cards you're missing from a set.

SEARCH CARDS
Search 17+ million cards in our database. See what cards on CollX are listed for sale right in search results. And if you find a card you own, but don’t have it handy to scan, you can easily add it from any of the records in the CollX database.

When you click on links to various merchants on this site and make a purchase, this can result in this site earning a commission. Affiliate programs and affiliations include, but are not limited to, the eBay Partner Network.

Daddy6797,
Slight glitch
I just started using this app. I am happy to have a way to scan my cards in and get a potential value based on the last sale amount or an estimated value. I did notice that several times when I scan cards in and add them to my collection (I was adding them 5 at a time) that the total number of cards in the collection didn’t increase making the potential value of the collection not go up either. For instance the total number of cards in the collection was at 267 I scanned in 10 more cards and it still sat at 267. The cards were there because I went looking for them and they were showing in my collection. If you do a fix for this it should fix the current count and potential value so that every card is counted. Other than that the app is easy to use so far.
blastDH,
Follow up
I recently submitted a review about how bad the newest update is. I love the IDEA of the app, and when it works right, it’s spectacular. The issue is, it almost never works right. It never recognizes newer inserts, which would be fine if the “search for card” function worked but it doesn’t. When searching, you either get infinite loading, or if you happen to find your card, when you select it, it sends you back to the card screen and still says that the card couldn’t be found. Also, I get that there’s tons of card variations, but there are some variations in which, every other card from the set seems to be in the database aside from the one you are searching. For example, 2021 Panini Playbook Zoning Commission. I have the Aaron Jones card, when searching for it, no matter what key words I use or even the ZC-AJO card “#” it shows every card in the set aside from this one. How can you have a full checklist but then just not have some in the system?! This has happened on multiple occasions, this is just the most recent example. Like I said, I LOVE the Idea of the app. The execution on it has just been mediocre. Prices are also all over the place. It should really pull from eBay recent sell or something so we can get accurate pricing.
TheCb95,
FIX
I think anyone who uses the app would agree with me on this when I say the app NEEDS to be optimized. Sometimes the app sits on a loading screen when opening, cards aren’t recognized, app crashes time to time, and I can’t scroll through my cards and fix the ones that are mislabeled. I have over 10k cards scanned but had to miss out on over 1k because they simply couldn’t be read.(nothing wrong with the cards)First priority should be to make the app run smoothly, second should be to expand the database used for identifying the cards. As for the scanning part, an idea, make it so we can scan a full page of 9 cards to make it go faster? I feel like it’s possible but only if the app ran smoothly without any bugs.

With all this being said, this app is great. As far as I know this is the only app where you can scan, sell, and connect with others to show off your collection. Like I said, I have over 10 thousand cards scanned so I’ve spent a decent amount of time on the app scanning and TRYING to find the right cards if the scan was messed up.

Bringing the Card Community Together
I have a couple of things I could complain about, but as an ambassador I’m nosey and don’t like not knowing what I’m representing. My personal issues are in the process of being taken care of. My biggest love for this app and the people behind it, is simply because they have managed to take an industry that was headed into the trash with the way people were treating each other, over pricing and lowballing on legit prices. They have managed to pull people from all different areas together for one common goal and that’s the love of the community. If I open a pack or a box and pull something major….we want to see the guy next to us or a new guy we met on the app do the exact same thing!!!! It’s all about the love of collecting different types of cards. Check em out!!! If you collect any type of cards you gotta get on this!!!
Deviousquiet1,
Pricing is untrustworthy
I’ve used cataloguing apps for my Magic collection that scans cards mostly accurately and allows you to select which marketplace to use for pricing, along with Low, Mid, and Market values. I’ve been away from sports cards for a while but wanted to scan and inventory my large collection for insurance purposes.

This app is easy to use for scanning, though I think it’s image database to match cards too is very incomplete, especially when it comes to matching variants/parallels. I have to manually correct it.

I think it’d also be helpful if there was serial # data in the listing options (let’s say you have the variant serial #d to 100 but all the listing options look almost the same) so you can make sure you’re matching it to the correct version.

I also noticed that is relies on eBay pricing, which can be super unreliable, especially if certain cards don’t make it onto eBay or sellers price their cards at “asking for” prices vs “sold for” and their asking price might actually be for a more rare version of that card (incorrectly listed). So you’re $2 card might incorrectly be valued at $200 because of wrong listings from eBay.

I wish there was a more accurate or relatable way to price cards (maybe pull pricing from more than one source), or a better filtering process. I know things can only get better, though! So I’m hopeful!
Limerick trick,
Great App with a ton of bugs.
I want to state that there really isn’t another app like this on the market that lets you scan, trade, sell, follow others and make connections for all things trading. It is an extremely deep app with everything that you can do with it.

However, it is buggy. I would say every 6 cards that you scan and upload, they can’t find and doing it manually usually never works. So I close and have to restart the process. The app will also default to more exotic versions of pretty straightforward cards (ie, Canadian or O Peech ee versions of standard Topps cards.)

The biggest issue I have is that I get logged out of the app probably 10 times an hour. That is not an exaggeration. I’m on 1g U/D speeds and I test the connection every time it happens. Nothing unusual on my end.

I did find that if I wait for all processes to finish before moving on to the next one, it works as it should, but that’s not how an app should work in 2022. Real-time should be standard.

I complain because I believe in the app. Seriously, what it does at its core is amazing. Scan, find price, organize and sell on different platforms? I’ve been on other apps that do less than a fraction if that and it’s free? Dude.

I will (highly) recommend this with the criticisms I’ve laid out. Once these bugs get fixed this will be the industry standard going forward. I’m pumped.
Mad-Martigan-78,
Great app with great promise
I recently re-discovered the joys of collecting sports cards and was looking for an app to catalog my inventory. I tried four other apps and this was the best one I came across for this purpose. I like the links to eBay for the purpose of gauging card values (although this is imperfect due to key word searches in EBay pulling incorrect cards from time to time) and would recommend including a link to other card valuing resources if possible for each card. Another feature I think would be useful would be an option to export your card inventory to a spreadsheet or .CSV file. I will say the app is a little buggy at this time and freeze up every so often, but hopefully this can be addressed in a future update.
RailRebel,
I want to Love It…but…
There is a lot of potential here but if the app constantly crashes all that potential is irrelevant. I can’t even scroll through to view half of my collection without the app crashing and closing. There is no way to manually add cards not in their data base. Often when the cards are uploading they do not do so in the order you batch scan them and there is no way to manually sort your cards into the correct order. The potential is there but all is for not if they don’t at least fix whatever bug is causing the crashes. I will probably sense use and monitor the situation and only resume use after some improvements. As for now my recommendation is that you should record card values as you go. Don’t rely on the ability to go back later to calculate a value since you’ll find yourself unable to do so due to a relentlessly crashing app…
avmac1098,
Great Potential, Needs a lot of Work
I love the idea of this app but unfortunately the more I use it the worse it gets. I’ve spent all weekend trying to scan my collection of valuable cards into the app and I’ve been averaging about 2-3 successful scans before the app totally crashes, or loads forever and doesn’t recognize a card, or logs me out. And even worse than these issues, over the last day or two, I take a picture of my card to scan in, and it uploads a completely different picture than the card I tried uploading and the card doesn’t end up making it to my collection even though on my profile page it says I added the card. I love the thought of this app and hope it runs smoothly someday. As of now it’s frustrating to say the least.
acarney10,
Great concept, frustrating amount of bugs
I’m super impressed with the accuracy of the scanning tool, been able to upload many cards quickly and get an idea of what they’re worth.

Unfortunately there are just too many bugs that make it consistently difficult to use. Multiple times I’ll have scanned a batch of cards and all of a sudden the app crashes or logs me out, losing all progress. Multiple crashes when searching through your current collection. Searching for a card when the scanner doesn’t identify it doesn’t allow you to select it, you usually have to delete the scan and reupload later. Once these bugs are ironed out, this will be the premier sports card tracking app, I hope to be able to sell some cards on here too!
