CBEST app saved my college career
Thank goodness for this app. I was driving myself crazy trying to figure out the CBEST test, and then I found this and it was the missing piece of the puzzle. I could manipulate and modify the practice tests anyway I want. And it breaks down all parts of the math portion and the reading portion of the CBEST. But the best part of it is the study mode that allows you to look up an answer on a practice quiz, not only doesn't tell you which answer is correct, but it also says exactly why it's correct. The only drawback to this app is that it doesn't focus on the writing section. I strongly recommend this to all aspiring teachers who are required to pass the CBEST. Trust me, it will help out a lot!

Not suitable for Math prep
I took the practice exams on here everyday at least 2-3 months prior to my CBEST exam and was getting good scores. I took my CBEST exam and flunked the math portion—almost none of the questions I studied on the app were related to the actual test, although in hindsight I should have used more than just one resource for studying. If you want reading practice the questions their app is great for that, but I suggest you find another means of study for the Math section.

Good Tool, but not the only thing you should use to study.
This app is helpful. But the questions often repeat. Sometimes the questions are not formatted properly (iPhone) so it isn’t always clear how to address the question. I like the app, but use it as just 1 tool of many to study for the CBEST.

It is better than having to carry a heavy/ bulky book. I like it because it helps me practice with my comprehension questions. It does need more questions to be work on it. Some of the same questions are often repeatedly. That does need to be worked on for sure. Needs Improvement.

Get the upgraded version
I'm finding this very useful for refreshing my basic math skills and also for familiarizing myself with the exam format. It's so convenient to be able to practice anywhere (think carpool lane, dentist office..). Love the ability to track my progress and identify weak spots.

Helpful, but not enough
I passed my CBEST but found the reading comp was too easy. They also failed to fix a bug in the Math area in which the questions wouldn't scroll down so you could read the problem. I think one would be better off getting a book to help you study.

Needs a little more work
The app did help me prepare, but it needs some work. There's no prep at all for the writing section, and I found multiple questions in the reading section for which the answer given by the app is incorrect. Also, there are formatting and rendering issues in the reading section.

Cool, Useful
Basically it's carrying the SAT around in your pocket, and unless you want to subscribe you only get one free question a day. 3 free ten question exams and then like/tweet/share for up to three more mini quizzes. Easy study tool to have I guess, but don't expect to get large amounts of studying without shelling out the $10.

Big Let Down!
I'm very disappointed in this study guide. This study guide does not prepare a tester at all especially when it comes to the Literature portion of the real CBEST. Math problems that were given on this app are not even on nor even near what is on the real CBEST. Over all, this doesn't prepare oneself for the CBEST and I recommend going to a local bookstore for a study guide. You know, like we did in the old days with the SAT.
