Fixed bug introduced in v1.1.1 with empty value appearing in Daily Encouragement popup view on those dates when the day-of-the-month is a single digit.
Per popular request, added a new User setting to control whether or not the Screen Dims/turns off after an idle period. When set to On (default value), screen is allowed to Dim, to conserve battery power. When set to Off however, screen does not dim/turn off, allowing the Chant timers etc. to continued to be seen visually.

Can now edit Goal start date and log entries 'in the past'...useful for transferring historical data from your paper logbook.
Also for devices with Cameras, the Goal editing feature now allows images to be chosen from the Photo Album, i.e. no longer limited to the camera roll only.

Very helpful
I am only 4 months into the practice, so reader beware. It's so much easier to chant with others and this helps provide that atmosphere. I do have some things that could be better. The chant speed could calculate your daimoku for you. There could be not such a huge difference in speeds, or more variations in speed. Slow is Really slow and fast is warp speed. Last, there is a little jarring feeling where the loop begins. Please don't take these for anything other than suggestions. I love that there is such a thing available as Chant Buddy.

Great App, but times out?
Wonderful app with a few glitches to work out. When im timing my chanting, i have to set my phone screen so it wont lock. It stops logging the time when that happens. Either that or keep touching the screen before phone locks. Id think the app would stay open while the timer is in use or the time would at least keep running. A little confusing to pay 1.99 for an upgrade & then asked to pay 2.99 again. Why not just make it 4.99 or 5 and call it a day? Otherwise I enjoy this app alot. NMRK
I wrote the above review 2 yr ago hoping theyd fix this glitch & they have not. I dont really use this app anymore bc the timeout/screen going black really affects my chanting (negatively), so i will continue with other chanting avenues. Really unfortunate as i otherwise like the app.

Goal oriented
Thank you for making this app! I started using Chant Buddy when I received my Gohonzon and joined the SGI last year. It has helped me to learn Gongyo and to chant faster and now I can chant as fast as the other members in my district. I use the timer, the log and the goal functions at least twice a day. Access to Nichiren's writings, the Lotus Sutra and the SGI website is fabulous. It is very easy to send encouragement and Words of Wisdom to others using this app. Also I rise every morning to our encouragement from President Ikeda which is displayed when opening the app! I can't imagine waking up without my Chant Buddy! It helps me to wake up with the Buddha (not the beast). Thank you!! Nam Myoho Renge Kyo 🌸

Keeps me motivated from anywhere I am
I have had this app for over 5 years and it is a wonderful thing to be able to chant anytime of the day and have the virtual company of fellow chanters. All of the other smart and innovative features included have proven so valuable. Developers, please continue to support the App as I have come so dependent on having an SGI Center in my pocket when I need it. Car, home, work, vacation, it is always there to encourage my practice. Thank you so much!

The app itself is fantastic. Organized in a thoughtful way that's easy to use while at the same time comprehensive for SGI practitioners. I give the function and layout 5 stars.
The one thing that surprised me is the in-app prices. For full benefit and even just to complete diamoku within it (which is one of the points of having it) you have to purchase upgrades for a total of $4.98. There's something inauthentic about this to me. I would have bought the app for $4.99, so why wait until I'm inside the app, excitedly exploring it to "hide" these fees? This portion - particularly because this is a Buddhist app - I give 2 stars.

Yes and No
I love the app, itself! I'd like to see more of the silent prayers and it is a bit discouraging to have to pay for so many little features that are just normal, expected parts of the program. But, I love the options for different chanting speeds and font sizes, the daily encouragement, and the option to set trackable goals. It has a lot going for it and is truly beneficial to newer members! Just don't be surprised that it is not actually free.

Nice app but ...
Paid the $2.99 with no problem and was ready to start chanting with the audio feature turned on BUT it times out when screen goes off. Why was this designed like this? This app needs and update with a fix to have the chanting continue when your screen times out for safety/ conserve battery life. If your music apps on your phone can continue to play with the screen off, I’m sure the developers can program this to do the same thing. Seems like a simple thing that fell thru the crack and was overlooked.

Helps my practice in so many ways
I always chant more and with more focus when I'm chanting with others, and chant buddy is like having a room full of SGI members show up at your house to chant with you every time you turn it on! I like to chant fast and the variable speed is great. You can also access the Gosho, daily encouragement and Words of Wisdom from the app. I use this app every day (twice a day). 🤗

Spectacular
I saw my friend using ChantBuddy and immediately downloaded the free version. She showed me everything that the pay version offers and I was hooked, and so I made the purchase. I am amazed at how fast I was able to memorize Gongyo. I have the audio running while I am changing, it makes me feel like I am chanting with friends.
