Character Design Shuffle has been created to unlock your Artist Block while inspiring you to create your own Intellectual Property characters for Animation, Comics, Children's books, etc..
What does it do ……………………………It simply gives you ideas.
What does it do for you…………………It gives YOU lots of ideas to draw, improve your skills and share.
Given several slot-machine style spinning wheels with different character traits on them, you choose which traits to draw from, and then hit the “Shuffle” button and we’ll randomly choose those traits for you. You can choose just a few simple traits, like what type of character, gender, outfit, and an action for that character. Or get as detailed as their age, body type, and even art style, in addition to several additional expressions to give your character more personality.
You might get a Female Gopher in a Tarzan outfit tumbling, or a Tall Chubby Male crocodile, age 18-20, in a Santa outfit water skiing, drawn in a Primetime Animation style *and* additionally for the same character draw the expressions of “Overcome”, “Challenged” and “Proud”. We’ll also store the most recent 20 character sets, so you can look them back up if you get a bit spin happy and want to draw a character you’ve spun recently.
In addition to the app, I have put together a ‘Character Design Shuffle’ Facebook group, so artists worldwide can share their character designs with other artists and get feedback. You can upload your own character designs from your computer, or you can use the app’s Upload feature to pick a photo of your character and which character spin it goes with and we’ll upload it for you. (The app will ask for your permission to post to Facebook, but know that we only use it for this upload feature that you control.)
So get shuffling and unlock that creative block…

Excited To Use!
Overall I love what this app does. This morning I was stuck drawing and was thinking about Silvers pose book, but then found this. Exactly what I want (and cheaper :P)!
Two things that I'm not 100% happy with. I understand wanting to show all of these on FB as a group, but I really dislike connecting apps to my Facebook. Even if they're just using minimal information, I just don't feel like sharing my profile info with ONE more company. I almost didn't open it because I didn't want to connect. If it could be an option instead of required that would be great.
Also if you could somehow freeze your selection if you decided you wanted to add on one more element. For example I had the default categories opened and shuffled. I loved the combo but was curious on adding an expression. I unlocked it and hit shuffle thinking it would just shuffle that, but it shuffled all of the categories and I lost the combo I had. This is probably really picky/ I'll know for future to unlock any category before I shuffle.

Save your brand's good name
Facebook is unnecessary. I am a big fan of silvertoons everything but this app's forced Facebook connection is annoying and flips out my phone which wastes time. I left high stars because I trust the silvertoons brand and I assume you'll fix this to save the brand's name.
Honestly I can't even imagine why it was built in to the design. It makes no sense and it ruins an otherwise decent app. But otherwise keep up the good work, people like me appreciate the resources and inspiration.

fun creative exercises for character designers and storytellers
I purchased this app and had field day drawing up these crazy suggestions..I usually take my sketchbook out and draw people at the cafe, but now I find myself reaching for this app on my touch just to push my storytelling and design. The other day I had dinner with my nephews and we drew giraffe lawyers who duel! All kinds of interesting situations come up that will challenge your creativity and get those juices flowing!

Great Tool
Just bought this app and it really does challenge you to think outside of your comfort zone and explore what you can and, even better, what you cannot do. It forces you to investigate, research and learn. At the end you get better.
I never was able to draw a female hillbilly dragon that was cooking until now lol. Its humbling, instructive and fun.
A couple of things that would improve the app would be the ability to rotate to landscape view when ipad/iPhone is rotated and to allow music apps to play in the background while drawing.

Pretty cool but...
I like love the suggestions and all the options. It's very customizable. The log into Facebook function is so annoying. Sometimes it malfunctions and I have to reload the app. I wish it worked without having to log in. I also don't like the sound effects. Sometimes I want an idea of what to draw when it needs to be quiet.

Clarification
It's a nice looking very simple, but useful app. I thought it was going to shuffle design elements and spark new ideas visually. It shuffles character traits (a good variety), and it's all text - no visual stimulus. Its like a MadLibs book. Personally, I misunderstood the description. But, It could double as an improv party game. Only small gripe is on the price compared to other apps.

Great idea with a HUGE flaw
This was a great idea but unfortunately I was never able to use it. The app immediately stopped working after my first log in. After reading previous reviews, I've come to the conclusion that the app just needs an update to make it compatible with ios8 and above.
Hopefully there's an update soon.. Would love to finally use this app for those days where my brain just needs a jump start

I've always wanted an app like this! Sometimes I get stuck on what I want to draw and need some keywords or inspiration to start with. This is exactly what I needed. I'm very thankful for this app to exist! ;)
