Love!
Being able to download classes would be an incredibly useful feature to add. I often don’t have access to fast internet for my remote work (my job is one of the reasons I take virtual classes in the first place!) and the ability to save classes to watch offline would be a huge plus. It’s one of the reasons I tried Steezy first. They have that feature. ALSO Tyler Peck is an amazing teacher and I’d absolutely love to see more of her classes. Great experience overall!! ♥️

I love this app it strengthens my knowledge and ability’s as a 8 year dancer (haven’t been on CLI for 8 years) Idk, why people are giving bad reviews... I mean like if you have a problem about one teacher or, their studios my advice FIND A NEW APP! Like come on how are you gonna have a problem with one teacher or a studio!! That is in my opinion not something to write a review about... well I use this everyday I am loving it! Ok, that is all for my review! I can’t wait to start another lesson oh, yeah and y’all I AM NOT A BOT GIVING A GOOD REVIEW!!! FYI!! Okie so keep up the great work!!

Love CLI Studios
My studio just got the rights for student accounts after 2 years of being with CLI and using it during classes...I love taking classes you really learn a lot because you are learning from some of the best industry professionals out there...I’ve really been able to grow and step out of my comfort zone with these classes (especially the live ones during the coronavirus pandemic)

Ridiculous policies
A friend gifted me 1 year of CLI classes last year and when this year rolled around they charged her card again, apparently gifted classes are automatically renewed which is absolutely ridiculous, not to mention the cost went up by $50 from the last year. Once I was finally able to figure out how to cancel the subscription (not available in the app) I emailed them asking if there’s any way to get any of that refunded to her since it was a gift and most gift subscriptions don’t auto renew. We were 10 days into the next year subscription and they refused to refund any of the $150. Worst customer service.

Love it but..
There are a variety of dance genres such as hip hop, ballet, contemporary, etc. but I do wish there were more styles. What I mean is there is both modern and classic styles but I feel like it can expand more. When I was first introduced to CLI, I saw a person named Hamilton Evans and recognized him from another company called millennium. But I only found one choreography. He normally does very quick paced kind of "sexy" hip hop and I enjoyed participating in his classes and thought "hey I wanna do those classes again" and checked out he video. It was not what I expected.

Beware! They will charge you $199 and refuse to refund
Customers beware. I did the trial and after it ended, I was charged $199 for the yr. I emailed them to say I’ll pay for the month but I found I didn’t use the app enough justify a year. They refused to refund my money for the remaining 11 months. They said there wasn’t a way to bill me for the month. Keep in mind, I was charged on May 15 and I emailed them on May 23. Only 8 days into the month and they are refusing to refund my money. This is bad business and very unethical.
I actually did like the app. I planned to download it again in a few months and pay for it. I just wasn’t using it enough to justify the money right now.
If you plan to do the trial, set a reminder to cancel. Because they will keep your money. I am filing a complaint with my credit card and better business bureau.

Unfairly charged
I did not want to sign up for the annual subscription but this company will not issue a refund to me. The app didnt allow me to cancel before my card was charged, despite the messaging system in the app to make requests/inquiries. I have made multiple requests through email to refund my money for this subscription that I did not want to commit to after the 7 day trial. I have not received a reply after my last 2 emails and I am highly disappointed that I even gave this app a chance in the first place. Dont sign up for the free trial without planning to pay for it no matter what.

Lots of choreography, little music
I danced for almost 20 years and wanted to reignite my love for dance in my 40s. I did the trial and tried about 7 different classes—I was bummed to find that there was TONS of choreography and very little dancing with music. Each instructor said if you need to review, rewind and keep practicing, then they plodded along teaching dance moves WITHOUT music. At the end they added music, and it was such a buzz kill. I don’t know many dancers who love to dance without music. So disappointed. It was easy to cancel my 7 day trial though, I could do it on my phone no problem.

Amazing!
I bought this app for my daughter and she absolutely loves it! She loves how easy taking the clases is and she loves how you can go at your own pace with it. She loves the wide variety of teachers and levels and genres of dance it provides. She loves how they keep adding new updates to the app that make it much easier to use on any device. Great pick, kiddo!

Preschool and early childhood program lacking
I like CLI in theory, but their early childhood classes for teachers are severely lacking. The teaching is outdated by 20 years. They need more/better pedagogy classes for teachers. I don’t understand why they don’t tap into master teachers and curriculum developers like Anne Green Gilbert of the Creative Dance Center, Dr. Rima Faber, Andrea Trench of DiscoverDance, or Jessica Baudin-Griffin (formerly of Intellidance). Another idea: partner up with NDEO for classes. I’m desperate for new developmentally-appropriate videos for my quarterly certification.
