Best insurance app
I rarely review apps, but this app was definitely a surprise.

I was looking to see if a lab was covered and how much I would need to pay if I went out of network, the app had it right there. Didn't need to call anyone, didn't feel like they were hiding information, it was right there.

Not only that, but on a visit to the dentist, I needed to see whether or not my plan had money left to get a filling done and my last claim and my spending was right in the app so I could just answer the question before I left the office!

You guys have definitely made using healthcare a lot easier - I've used all of my other insurance company's apps and have been frustrated because they just don't work or just look like their website shoved in an app.

Thanks for saving me time and the frustration of having to understand my health insurance!

Find care needs serious help with loading
It’s a good app other than specialists not being accurate and find care refusing to load very frequently. I’ll have to check back periodically and hope I get lucky. and that’s super frustrating when trying to find a doctor in network. The provider accuracy probably has to do with how the data is ingested which limits it’s practical convenience (which is the point of the company right?). For example, it’s hard to figure out if a provider sees adult patients without having to go to each of their website. This persists with the webpage too so isn’t app specific but the webpage find care renders quickly and consistently. Could be my company specifically though.

Errors after update
I loved this app until the last update. The “plans” page doesn’t show any info and when searching for providers it says it cannot load. I’ve tried on another device with the same results. So the only helpful thing about the app at this point is that it shows my medical cards, which I can reach in my wallet for.

Another 3rd Party in Healthcare
Just another middleperson in an industry that doesn't need another middleperson. The customer support is "did you try turning it off then on again?" phrased in a very enthusiastic way for most things, but without fixing it.

Sure, my employer gets cheaper administration of healthcare benefits but the actual insurance plan is gutted and to put it bluntly, trash. Again, my dollar went towards less of my healthcare and more to a questionable value add service.

If you're reading this to evaluate benefits of a future employer, ask A LOT of questions. If you're reading this as a fellow dissatisfied user, provide honest feedback to your HR department and ask them a lot of questions of why this is a thing in your company.

I love this app! Not only is it beautifully designed but it also gives me the information that I need at my fingertips. I even learned something new that I have access to certain benefits that I didn’t even know I had, like access to One Medical! Great discoverability and easy to use.

The eCard Alone is Awesome!
The ability to view your card and send directly to a provider is awesome - if going I a new provider you can do it in advance. Saves time for all. The others features are thoughtful and similar to the desktop / laptop experience.

No help on Sunday
I’m at an urgent care center after injuring myself while moving yesterday. They can’t locate me in the system even though this app referred me here. I called collective health and they refer me to the website. Now I’m seeing a doctor as a self pay patient. So disgusted. My din had the same issue when he had an allergic reaction. Health care providers can’t confirm that we have insurance. Being uninsured is the highest risk for mortality and being African American and an NP I know that as a fact.

Clean design but needs a zoom function for cards
The virtual insurance cards need a zoom function. The fonts on the numbers are difficult to read.

The app also needs a dark mode. The brightness is a lot to take in. Thankfully I can get the data I need out of the app pretty quickly.

Unusable directory listings
It summarizes what is on your card and tells you your coverages, which is convenient.

The best practical advantage this app should have over the physical card is searching for doctors when you’re on the go. However, that part is completely unusable if you live in an urbanized area (where presumably most of Collective’s customers live). You’re much better off using Google Maps or Yelp to search for a practice.

The simplest question to ask is “can you help me find a primary care doctor?” Try it near where you live and get totally swamped with hundreds of results; the only filter is by language spoken and gender.

- Individual doctors are shown rather than practices.
- No curation at all of the practices - No useful filters like “have online scheduling.”

Cannot contact app support
The link to app support is not working.

Having an issue with the messaging function - no ability to delete. Also, messages that were closed by the Collective Health rep before I got to read them are eternally stuck in unread status. Can we get this corrected?
