Wonderful app!
My only wish is that this app was available on my PC. The most frustrating and time-consuming part of using colored pencils is searching for the pencils that I will be using to do a piece. This app speeds up the process and lets me spend more time drawing and less time squinting at color charts. I sample different areas of my reference to establish the pencil palette and then line up my pencils and get right to work! I knew right away I would use this app all the time, so I upgraded to the ad-free version. It’s a fantastic tool for committed colored pencil artists!

Awesome!
Very simple to use! The hardest part for me in my drawings is to figure out what colors to use; well no more. I pick my brand of color, pick my photo reference & move the target around the picture and the color\s pop up below the picture to let me know which pencil\s colors to use...one word, “Awesome!” There is also a pencil organizer which lets you know where to find the pencil\s that you need in your pencil trays and also you can customize it to fit your trays...Wonderful tool! I can’t wait to use this app for my next colored pencil painting.

I used to love this app. But now they are either charging for a extra color or you have to watch an add. I would not mind doing either of those things if it worked! I watch the add and when I get back to my colors it did not give me the extra color. Also when I want the extra color it offers a “Pro” upgrade which I have pressed numerous times yet it does not work and it does not give me the 3rd color.

Not very precise
I have Prismacolor and Polychromo pencils. The pencils that they say to use to get the color in the photo it’s often way off. It has given me some interesting combinations that I might not have otherwise used, but not the colors I need to achieve the color I want.
As an experiment, I’ve photographed one of my swatch pages. It did not get any of the colors right.
So the worth of this app depends on what you’re using it for. If you want to find which pencils will give you a particular color, you are going to be disappointed. If you just wanna play with your pencils, but this is a great app.

Excellent tool to create painting!
This is a must have app for any colored pencil artist! Accurate color choosing inside your own photo and three color mixing choices to get just the right tone. Cant wait for them to add more color pencil lines. They have several well known quality brands listed but would love to see the complete Derwent Lightfast plus the 28 new colors?in CD Luminance brand! Not worth working on a painting and huge amount of time needed of your life hours if you dont use quality lightfast(non fading) colored pencils!!!

Very useful tool!
I’ve been a professional colored pencil artist since 2003 and this is one of the most helpful tools I’ve ever stumbled across. I’m not picky enough to use the exact pencils recommended (and admittedly, I have all these brands mixed together then divided up by color families), but this tool certainly speeds up my selection. I highly recommend this tool for ANY artist—not just colored pencil artists. 😊

This app has been such a huge help. I am color blind, so I don’t always see the correct colors. This app has been so helpful in selecting the right colors and even gives the blending ratios. So simple to use and I love that you can select the brand of colored pencils that you will be using. Thank you for developing this app, the programming is simply amazing.

Fantastic Tool
Are usually know when and how to pick the color that I need, but I get stuck just like everybody else. This tool is absolutely amazing for that. You can zoom in to a tiny area or zoom out for a larger one. It doesn’t work 100% perfect all of the time, but it’s an amazing tool and believe me, you want this in your toolbox.

A Helpful Guide
This is an amazing ap! If you are stuck on figuring out a color this can guide you through. There are many brands to choose from. I hope that there will be an update to add on the Derwent Lightfast along with other new ones. I wish that they had a program for other mediums: pastels, acrylics, watercolors and oils!

The app has a lot of different colored pencil brands to chose from and while it has a lot of variety in sets (eg. different prismacolor sets, polychromos sets) it does not have many brands and for me it’s a little bit hard to find the colors because I have colored pencils that do not appear in the list. And since the color can differ from brand to brand, it is a bit hard to use this app.
